Roman J. Israel, Esq. 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Roman J. Israel, Esq. 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there is colourful effects/flashing effects/medical element

Storyline: it is good; the pacing generally speaking mobile, but somewhere around the middle or just before it loses itself for while, but it finds itself again.

Action/Art: there is combat, a NBA element and a weapon being used. Moving on to the art there is a consistent representation of art in this film; be it pictures or photographs in Israel, Esq.'s/Washington first place of living in this film or these scenes of trams or this Fun Fair [in the distance at the end of this pier] as Israel, Esq./Washington is sitting in this seat on this balcony, with his balcony fireplace with this beach, sea and trees on the left-hand side; the camera shot is from behind Israel, Esq.'s/Washington's chair, back, shoulder, neck and head. But as the camera shot goes up and forward the day turns into night and the viewers can see these attracting bright lights come on to attract potential customers.

Characters/Performances: including the on-screen chemistry; it is all good. To be a little bit more specific now as it relates to Israel, Esq./Washington; it is 50-50 to whether this character has an undiagnosed mental disability or personality disorder or if he is just this way; as in mixed in with being highly intelligent consequently does things in a very purposeful manner or has no filter as it relates to people or real life situations, it's like he does crossover that line between being highly intelligent and then highly intelligent with an undiagnosed mental disability or a personality disorder and then back again, so that is why I have chosen 50-50, because there is enough evidence to suggest all of the above, he is a complicated character which Washington does pull off fluently with great purpose and conviction.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; it takes its viewers through a portion of Roman J. Israel, Esq.'s life and if there are any fans of Denzel Washington out there in Internet land take a look at this film.

Riot 2015/2016 by AverageMansReviews

Riot 2015/2016 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there are colourful effects/bodily functions

Storyline: it is of a straightforward format; the pacing is a little bit stop and start, this project on both counts be it the storyline or the pacing and movement; is not comfortable rotating from what is happening inside this prison to outside and back again, it is much more stable and happy settling down in the confines of this prison and moving forward.

Action/Comedy/Art: the action and the comedy go hand-in-hand [for a small amount of occasions] for one example we have our lead role Stone/Reese being attacked by these men in his cell [for this bounty which has been placed on his head by Balam/Liddell,] but throughout this entire scene Stone's/Reese cellmate [Silva/Williams] is fast asleep on the top bunk with these headphones on with music playing; the action separately; there are these two criminals running down the side of this building using these black wire ropes to accomplish this [after a little bit of research this is what I think they are, but I could be wrong] and we have Alena/Ryan going around in the air ducts, yes just for the record there are weapons being used, combat and chasing.

Art; there are some good looking scenes watch out for the airplane in one scene, but there are some occasions where things are a little bit too bright, I am not overly criticizing them; but more like pointing them out and saying I am aware of them [let's just say you may need sunglasses when you see them.]

Characters/Performances: the character types are the standard for this type of project, the performances including the on-screen chemistry are a mixture; it works to solid to something safe and reliable to good [outside the prison to inside the prison.] A special note has to go out to Balam/Liddell he is a perfect kingpin type character in this film.

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; I mean when this film settles down more or less inside the confines of this prison then it is a solid film and if there are any fans of Dolph Lundgren out there in Internet land he is in this film as William [supporting role.]

The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 24 by AverageMansReview

The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 24 by AverageMansReview

Just a heads up: this Volume will have a fair amount of questions on both sides of the divide

WWE: I know I have discussed this before; but I am now going to expand on it. Yes I haven't watched Raw for some time, because I no longer have access to their live TV product, so I just have highlights on another channel [this does not interest me, so I currently do not watch it] or when I had access to it live TV product I either stopped watching it or found it insufferable.

But what I find irritating about the Women's Division on the Red Brand is these bunch of annoying questions; if Lynch or Charlotte was still around would the Woman's Division as a whole be getting this level of exposure? If or when or unknown return if at all, is everyone just going to fall back into line behind these two consequently them just being the focus point again? When the WWE has a wider selection of men characters/performers to pick from; will the Woman's Division be getting pushed back from the Main Event slot?

Based on my experience with this company Lynch or Charlotte will resume their spots on the Card, with them being the focus point again, if or when or if at all they return [I'm just covering my back for any eventuality on both cases] and furthermore I can see the Women's Division spending less and less time in the Main Event slot if at all when the WWE goes back to their version of normality; but you are more than welcome to prove me wrong WWE, in fact I want you to prove me wrong.

Now you may be wondering how somebody that doesn't have access to their live product can speculate this with genuine conviction, this is because I know this company, I have been interested/following it since the late 1980's and considering this company hasn't changed their playbook since the late 1970's heading into the 1980's, it has become easier to at the very least have a rough idea of what will happen even before it happens.

Now before I continue I should point out that I am not a sexist, but in the grounds of this company I never really got behind the Women's Revolution, because yes it should have happened many years before it happened, but I could just smell a publicity stunt and as far as I am concerned this is what is still was and is based on the grounds which I have already highlighted in this Volume or let's go and ask Naomi or better yet how is that all women's pay-per-view WWE Evolution going WWE? Now if they were taking women's wrestling seriously this pay-per-view should always be on the schedule of pay-per-views in the year; this by now should be heading towards its third instalment not just one in 2018.

Pipe Bomb [in a wrestling sense] it's weird that this company can miss out this pay-per-view when it suits them but they won't miss out a scheduled appearance in the Middle East due to a real life heinous event and on top of that they had half naked women on WWE RAW Underground, which shows they are willing to be hypocrites to push the TV ratings, so which narrative is this company going with? One that says we now recognize equality or the old narrative of anything for money; choose one? You cannot be both I mean if women want to do the half naked dancing I will come up with a solution so it is still in the realms of equality, so what I would suggest is this;  they should be leaning toward more of a sports-based using a dancing pole [wearing appropriate clothing for this activity,] I mean they should be getting more people behind the scenes with a similar outlook to mine, where if they want to do these things they should be looking outside the box to achieve them properly, I mean if this segment goes well you could even introduce a Championship to hammer home the narrative that this company are looking at this activity from the perspective of sports [I mean the hierarchy doesn't have to believe it, the viewers don't have to believe it,] but that is the narrative we are selling, they could even get men participating and I believe it could work, but then again I have just remembered you have to please a 74-year-old man and get a 50-year-old man to go along with it in Mr. McMahon and Shane McMahon.

The half naked thing didn't irritate me, but what did irritate me is the hypocritical nature of it and what it represented [anything for ratings and money] as it was before it was pulled; moving on yes I don't have access to NXT, but even I don't like the sound of having two new writers to NXT; working on NXT, because yes it does continuously struggle against AEW: Dynamite, but in the WWE Universe it is the golden standard of their Universe [so please don't screw it up.]

All Elite Wrestling: straight off the bat the Dumb Award goes to Le Sex Gods [Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara;] Guevara for throwing the wrong chair at Matt Hardy, I don't care if it was the wrong chair or he just panicked; I really, really couldn't care or don't care. Here is a great idea Guevara the next time you panic you don't throw an object that you don't know if it is the right one or not, in essence what I'm saying here is just don't throw anything and go on the fly and do something safer, yes you may run the risk of getting heat backstage a little, but I'm sure everyone would understand that you panicked and consequently you took the safer option, furthermore it would have maybe got you some credibility back stage of being a safe worker, as in okay that didn't work out but at least he tried to protect the person he was working with; with going on the fly.

Think about it if AEW gave him a sensible amount of time like three months suspension for his comments about WWE's Sasha Banks, he wouldn't be in this situation to make this stupid error in the first place.

Jericho; you are aware of this global situation right? So why the hell did you perform with your band Fozzy at a event [Sturgis Bike Rally] when AEW take this global situation very seriously, which now leaves AEW in a bad situation. Because they will now be getting criticized for allowing you to wrestle on this past week of AEW: Dynamite against Orange Cassidy; where if Orange Cassidy loses he will have to pay Chris Jericho $7000 Obligation, but Jericho should have been in quarantine, instead of this match which AEW should be in a bad situation after allowing you to wrestle, because apparently the Fozzy performance was done with social distance involved, but I am now looking at a picture which would completely contradict that plus if alcoholic drinks were involved social distancing goes out of the window.

So why did AEW allow this? If I was AEW I would have firstly been very angry with Jericho, secondly postponed this match and issued a statement to why it has been postponed and sent Jericho home to quarantine, I would have done everything in my power to avoid the backlash from fans [or to give anybody ammunition] and also to send out a strong message that "We at AEW take this global situation very seriously and no one is above it."

Finally I have to say I prefer the AEW Women's Division, it doesn't give me a headache, because they really do just focus on wrestling; yes at the moment I am willing to give them a little bit of time; due to the facts of this global situation and it has plenty of space and time to grow naturally [instead of it feeling like a publicity stunt which means women's wrestling belongs here and it will continuously grow may be slowly but surely; I have previously discussed AEW Heels in the previous Volume I will leave the link down below] and Dr. Britt Baker DMD suffering a long-term injury, scheduled to be back in the ring Saturday 05/09/2020 [AEW All Out,] yes I am aware she still has an on-screen presence now until then only [and I should just point out that the only reason I know this date of this pay-per-view return is because she is mentioning it in her promos,] but I think we can all agree she is a very integral part of the AEW Women's Division.

The Nut Job 2014 by AverageMansReviews

The Nut Job 2014 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there are flashing effects/colourful effects/animal cruelty

Storyline: it is good; we have two storylines in this film one set around these animals in this Local Park and the other is set in our world of human beings [a very short distance away from this Park,] so these two storylines are intertwined in this film; just a heads up there is extra animation throughout the closing credits be it the first lot or the second lot in one way or another and the pacing is something safe and reliable.

Art/Characters/Performances: it is colourful and easy to settle down with animation; I do like how these colours in this Park landscape such as the trees and their leafs are at different stages of their development as it relates to being Autumn, the visual representation of our characters are good as well; for an example our lead character/performer [Surly/Arnett] is a purple squirrel different contrasts of purple like 90% over his body heavier on his nose whilst going down his front he has this white strip which isn't 100% white it looks to have a very little bit of purple in there as well; with lighter purples around his eyes ; with this very fine dark purple on his lips and finally his black eyebrows.

The character developments and the performances including the on-screen chemistry; now not to repeat myself too much here, but this is all something safe and reliable as well [I will discuss this more in the final section of this review.]

Comedy/Action: in this example it covers both of these components; it is where Surly/Arnett is coming slowly across this telephone wire with these pigeons moving out of his way one by one [flying off] so Surly/Arnett can move on to the next pigeon in line until he gets to the last one, he doesn't move out of his way so Surly/Arnett sends him flying by kicking him off this telephone wire.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; this project is one of those projects that uses a tick sheet of a safe computer animation project; this basically means easy to understand storyline or storylines, colourful engaging animation and simple yet effective character developments which this film has all of this in it.

The reason why I call them safe computer animation projects; is because that is what essentially they are, as long as you hit the young children and families demographic it should safely make its money back and more to justify a sequel; in this case there is a sequel of this project named The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature 2017. So let's leave this review on a positive; if you have a copy of this film or means to watch it via a online subscription services and you have children of a young age in single digits or early double digits this should keep them entertained for a while or you could watch it is a family it only goes on for roughly 85 minutes.

Days of Thunder 1990 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there are colourful effects/flashing effects/medical procedures

Storyline: it is good; the ending could have done with some work though, we get this freeze-frame ending and we never find out what happened next to anyone. The pacing is generally speaking it is solid, obviously around the NASCAR racing components to this film it moves much more quickly, but as a whole I would have to stick with the pacing is solid.

Art/Action/Comedy: the Art there are some beautiful skies in this film, you will notice them when you see them, because they are very eye-catching, moving on to the action; NASCAR construction, racing , crashes and rescue; finally onto the comedy; because there are only small elements of this; I will go with this; because Trickle/Cruise and Burns/Rooker are very competitive NASCAR drivers anything can turn into a race, be it on the NASCAR racing day or manual big wheels wheelchairs or cars anything can turn into a race.

Characters/Performances: including the on-screen chemistry this is all good; to be a little bit more specific now; this project does have this component [between Trickle/Cruise, Burns/Rooker and Dr. Lewicki/Kidman,] why athletes may find it difficult to retire either before their time or try thinking of doing something else or doing something else be it around NASCAR or outside the world of NASCAR; it is because they are mainly focused on this one thing or they may feel like this is the only thing they are good at which it becomes their whole life and consequently this is all they know which isn't a good thing in the first place [Trickle/Cruise knows how to drive; he is a natural and an extremely gifted individual; but that is it he doesn't know the other components of NASCAR such as mechanics or anything like this; as in short he tells Hogge/Duvall this.] Because of what I have learned when the time is running out or the final bell is bonging louder and louder some athletes don't know when to retire or part-time retire to transition maybe still in their field so when full-time retirement comes around the transitional phase is much smoother, but athletes are used to structure and without structure they may struggle, there is always an mental and physical adrenaline rush that these athletes get doing what they do and finally there is a financial aspect as well. So yes to reach the top of your field you may have to be really focused, but I am a plan B. or C. kind of person, so I would take a slower journey to the top or have a shorter stay at the top or possibly sacrifice reaching the top to have a better rounded life during and after and there is always a possibility of an unforeseen injury which forces me to retire much earlier than I wanted to; yes just in case you were wondering I am just a very grounded person.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; I mean I hadn't seen it before; I should just point out if you are a fan of NASCAR you will probably get more out of it to be fair, but having said that it is a pleasant film.

The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 23 by AverageMansReview

The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 23 by AverageMansReview

Just a heads up: as usual there is no adult language in this blog, but I have my ways around that.

WWE: you released all those people from all those contracts to save money, which you didn't need to do in the first place especially in this economical situation, but then you go and hire a new President & Chief Revenue Officer in Nick Khan; which in simple terminology his contract is dollar signs in the eyes pretty, this is just another example of why I have grown to strongly despise this company.

So that was a waste of a repackaging for Liv Morgan now most of The Riot Squad are reunited minus Sarah Logan [retired now] and Morgan looks out of place with her current persona [which I have no idea what it is meant to be.] Yes I know why they probably reunited The Riot Squad in the first place; well it is down to two reasons really; they didn't have anything for Riot or Morgan separately to do and they needed a tag team to feud with The IIconics so there we go.

I have this great idea to rectify Raw's poor TV ratings, forget the wrestling product and just do the behind the scenes madness of putting Raw and SmackDown together, because as I have just highlighted of what I've heard it is just becoming more and more madness which could translate into massive TV ratings and these are my opinions of WWE Raw Underground; WWE Raw Underground Volume 1 Link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2020/08/wwe-raw-underground-volume-1-by.html

All Elite Wrestling: I am not going to lie there will be something somewhere in this section that will irritate someone somewhere; I will not be as laid back as I usually am; you have been warned.

So let me get this right this company offer something new, something fresh, something modern and something inclusive to all and the first major signs of somethings you don't like; some of you out there take your AJ Style crying tablets! Question; how the hell are AEW going to do what the WWE has done in about less than two years [when this was being first dictated,] short answer they have no chance in hell!

So why are a section of the wrestling universe fan base getting on either Cody or Brandi Rhodes' back so what AEW have been around over one year in wrestling time that is absolutely nothing! No disrespect intended to this company but it is nothing when the WWE has been around for decades upon decades, upon decades! In fact the Rhodes family have done so much for the WWE that is how long the WWE has been around the Rhodes family name [and many other family names in the world of professional wrestling] are intertwined at the roots of the WWE.

So what; so far we haven't seen a females match headlining! Really so what as far as I can tell this is just speculation, but based on my viewing experience they are trying to build the men and women rosters with depth, talent, hunger and many other positives. The best analogy I could give you is this is what we do in soccer [if you want to run a club properly;] get young talent with these positives which I have just discussed and build them up with a few established or veterans, hopefully if this is done correctly it should keep the outgoing finance manageable and as long as you keep now and again getting young or established or veterans that want to come for a decent contract, you can establish the next generations so when it comes to changing of the guard, it should be a gradual rotation down the line, so on hand we don't get another WCW situation and on the other hand we don't have the everlasting WWE situation where we have someone mentioning no names [coughing Mr. Vincent Kennedy .......... Kennedy! McMahon] reluctance to establish a consistent conveyor belt of talent, which he could very easily do this with NXT, but what AEW are trying to achieve at first it requires a lot of time and effort to put this into place.

May I just remind you short minded people out there that so far AEW has never ever put a woman in a sexual match [for an example a bra and panties match] or if you find that example a little bit dated how about quite recently selling out their women's female roster on SmackDown with the Karaoke Showdown and I get this feeling they never will because it is all about wrestling, these women are seen as wrestlers for their they wrestle.

Moving on so what they want to do this Heel thing online, I will not be purchasing it; because of little I know about it; it doesn't interest me or if it did I am very tight with my money [in the world of professional wrestling you can never say never, just in case I change my mind at some point in the future,] but you don't see me acting like Styles every time he thinks about Paul Heyman [Styles bills for the amount of tissues he is/ has been going through lately must be astronomical by now.]

So as it relates to this entire situation with Brandi and Cody Rhodes what do people want? This company are inclusive they make their fans feel wanted and apart of their family; so we should give them the same in return, unlike the WWE which actively does the opposite continuously; If you're not going to be grown-up and realize that AEW have the best intentions of doing these things, but at the moment as it relates to this global situation or if the global situation wasn't here meaning it is just going to take time, you're just going to hold them to account every step of the way and be a complete massive donkey diarrhea pile about it here is a suggestion you can go back to the WWE and join Styles' crying circle I am sure there are plenty of spaces to go around the world hold on don't tell Styles the world is round he may start crying again, but at least it won't be over Heyman this time; for me we can only know about AEW in roughly 12 years time as it relates to being stable and progressive, but from my perspective as long as they keep moving forward at any speed, I will be at minimum okay with that, I may get a little bit funny around the decade mark if there isn't much progression on the women's front, I still wouldn't act it out towards Brandi or Cody Rhodes or anyone else connected to AEW, I may just be more critical; this is not a deadline I'm just saying we will see how it is at that point.

I mean I've heard they are holding back on some things, because of this global situation and to give these moments a reaction which they deserve in front of a live crowd, so you cannot blame them for that and speaking from a TV ratings perspective/common sense because I know nothing about TV ratings it would be a wise move to wait for a live crowd to get a pay-off in these situations.

Now it is very true I haven't seen any of the abuse as it relates to Brandi Rhodes on Twitter, I have seen a smidgen whilst watching someone else's material as it relates to Cody Rhodes and somebody else, but Pipe Bomb [I mean this in a wrestling sense.]

Don't talk about these following hash tags if you're just going to ignore them when it suits you; #BlackLivesMatter, #SpeakingOut, #BeKind and #NaomiDeservesBetter; if you are struggling/jumping to conclusions with the comparison between Brandi and Naomi; to cover my back, both of these women are working very hard; so if one deserves better the other deserves better as well; yes I am one of those kind of people that when it is possible and appropriate I think across the board as a whole, regardless of different wrestling companies. But the thing is what irritates me beyond belief is the wrestling universe was asking/screaming out for change and now we have it, there are a section of the wrestling universe trying to leave massive donkey piles of diarrhea all over it! Yes I would have used much stronger language, but I am prohibited not to do so [I began with that rule many years ago so I have stuck to it,] but this entire situation has very much irritating me and I have a very short fuse!

Before I made this statement I just wanted to go and make sure [and this is not a good thing I just didn't want to be incorrect,] so Brandi Rhodes has officially deactivated her account on Twitter [when this blog was first dictated] and I did see one or two unpleasant comments [full disclosure I wasn't paying attention,] because I am the kind of person as I have made reference to when it is appropriate I am disabled with a mental health illness on top, so I have learned to deal with it or ignore it or I have a very hard skin. So even though I haven't done anything wrong I would like to send an apology to Brandi and Cody Rhodes for this entire situation. Yes we all expect some level of criticism on some level [I'm not condoning it I'm just being level-headed,] but not a complete tornado of it so apologies and hopefully stepping away from Twitter Brandy Rhodes will feel better in herself soon [I should just point out this is speculation on my part two why she stepped away from Twitter, but in my defence it is a good educated guess.]

But at some point in the future Brandi; you should come back on Twitter and just don't listen to the highly negative people, they clearly have nothing better to do than criticize people that work very hard to provide an excellent wrestling product especially in these difficult times; which has space to grow over a long period of time.

BASEketball 1998 by AverageMansReviews

BASEketball 1998 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there is flash photography/flashing effects/medical procedure/child exploitation/animal cruelty/simulation of suicide.

Storyline: on both counts the storyline and the pacing of this film is good; I mean it knows what it is doing from beginning to end and it sticks to it.

Comedy/Action/Art: the comedy and the action go hand-in-hand in this project, there are also individual comedy elements as well. So straight off the bat I have deliberately chosen the comedy elements/action or just the comedy elements which are safe to put in this review [a selection which I can give you a rough description of,] because the comedy level ranges between mature to adult.

So in this sport game known as BASEketball, the defending team player has to Psych Out, the opposing player to make sure they miss their shot; for an example  Cooper/Parker decides to take off this piece of foil from its roll and chew on it or for another example we have Remer/Stone pressing play on this player with this really slow story narration which Remer/Stone goes up alongside holding up this player which slowly but surely puts this opposition player to sleep [Remer/Stone is holding this player ongoing narration in one hand and in the other hand he is holding this pillow.]

Here are two examples of the comedy on its own merit; in short we have this supporting character/performer in Scolari/Dian that's inside this Hot Tub [in the background to this news report] with the effects of someone must have pulled the plug and the consequences of that. Then we have The Jerry Springer Show Drinking Game; the rule is every time there is a fight on this TV program these characters/performers drink theirs shot.

Art: there is music provided by the band Reel Big Fish and there are fireworks in this film.

Characters/Performers: on both counts they are good; likewise there is good on-screen chemistry with everyone involved.

This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; this film is a laugh, but I now have to be sensible and say at minimum you are not going to like this film or just take it for what it is; which is not a serious sports film.
