The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 92: The Face of the Nijika by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 92: The Face of the Nijika by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good

Warning: there are robotic elements showing and elements of death

Storyline/Back stories/Origin storyline the storyline is good and the back stories come to the viewers in the dialogue exchanges or origin storyline via storyteller with mental imagery.

Action sequences/Artistic visions: these two components work hand-in-hand here is just one example; this small selection of Autobots exiting Sky Lynx [in transformed mode of Bird] when he opens his beak they come out into outer-space into battle with their handheld weapons drawn and shooting or likewise just for one example individually as it relates to the artistic visions the inner working of this character are close-up for this small sequence; it is elegant [that is as much as I can say without giving too much away, but you will know it when you see it.]

I am confused/Character developments: I have always been under the impression that the Autobots and the Decepticons have two separate Insignias [everyone with me so far?] I now find out that in this episode without giving too much away obviously they go under another name Universal Emulator.

On a quick research you can find out lots, lots and so on and so forth more information if you put in the words Transformers Insignia than Transformers Universal emulator, I did this just to see what would come up, if after all these years if I was using the wrong word and by the looks of it I wasn't obviously full disclosure it would've helped if I had used the right spelling to begin with as it relates to emulator, but I got there in the end and in a nutshell because I can't say too much about them the character developments are good [let's just say when you come to watch this episode everything I have been cautious to make reference to in one way or another will become crystal clear.]

This episode receives: 7/10, as I have always said this episode is good.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 91: Call of the Primitives by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 91: Call of the Primitives  by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is top-notch entertainment

Warning: there is death, colourful and flashing effects or just to cover my back something to these effects in this episode; if anyone is wondering why I say something to the effects it just covers me if I should receive any backlash in the future.

Storyline/Back stories/Origin storylines: the storyline is well like every other component or element to this episode is fully packed with back stories in the dialogue exchanges or the back stories and origin storylines come to the viewers via storyteller with mental imagery [yes I am trying to put this down without telling you too much, so all I can say here is if or when you come to watch this episode this will make better sense after you have seen this episode or unless you have seen this episode before, consequently you would have an idea of what I am referring to.]

Action sequences/Artistic visions: now not to repeat myself here but individually or going hand-in-hand these two components are fully packed powerful, highly imaginative and highly creative as we have ongoing carnage everywhere we the audience look

Character developments: it doesn't matter what insignia these characters have on them if they are Primitives be them the Dinobots or the Predacons they will answer the call being sent, this is worthwhile pointing out that even though all of these Primitive characters are answering this call they still have their individual personalities and so on, so what I am basically saying here is this; even though they are heading towards this place they still don't like each other even if they have the same insignia they still don't like one another on the Decepticons side of things, which taking this option with the character developments has to be given praise, because they could have chosen the much lazier option of just all these characters being like zombies being drawn to this place, yes they are still being drawn to this place anyway but as you will see without giving too much away it isn't exactly a smooth ride.

Bloopers: so still without giving too much away we have Grimlock Blasting is way out of where he is, but he is not in his robot mode so how can he use his handheld weapon to get out of this location? [Yes there was no transformation sound effects, just in case you were thinking he transformed at any time] and in the same sequence the voice-over/sound effects doesn't match up with what is happening on screen at that time, so basically we have Grimlock with voice-over/sound effects giving the impression he is shaking his head clear but on screen he is perfectly still, on a quick side note if I haven't referenced this before or if I have some time ago just to cover my back again in the future from any backlash as it relates to the bloopers I haven't always brought them up just in case someone says "You haven't said this or you haven't pointed out that blooper."

This episode receives: 10/10, this is one of those occasions where looking back I just wonder if a two-parter episodes option should have been taken here that is how much the viewers get in this episode that it would have comfortably taken over a second one without interrupting the chaotic nature of this episode it just means they could have had more time and fun with everything, but nonetheless this is the only mark I had in mind after viewing this episode

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 90: Money Is Everything by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 90: Money Is Everything by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good

Storyline/Back stories: the storyline is good and the back stories get discussed in the dialogue exchanges.

Action sequences/Artistic visions: now firstly these two components go hand-in-hand and bring so much to this episode, they take place in different places as well so there is a good variety here like for a quick example we have this Terrorcon. [Hun-Grrr] chasing, and firing on this ship named Lazy Sue with Hun-Grrr eating this Satellite during this sequence in outer-space, the pilot of this ship his name Dirk Manus, on an individual level the artistic visions are very eye catching be it these yellow haired and green characters dancing in unison/repetitive loop in the scenery of this very posh restaurant [keep your eyes peeled because as I have already said they are a part of the scenery] or when Dirk Manus and Captain Marissa Faireborn are dancing or in outer-space when the viewers come across the Moon or the Planet Saturn.

Character developments: In short here is something for you to hear/look out for; a dialogue exchange between Dirk Manus and the Quintesson General as it relates to the Terrorcons.

Bloopers: the first one is where we have Computron he is computing the probability of this situation happening and what action they should take next, but if you look at his eyes one moment they are red and the next minute they are their normal colour blue, the next one is where we have Dirk Manus and Captain Marissa Faireborn in this posh restaurant one moment she has blond hair and the next moment it goes back to what it should be; being dark brown and the final one is where Dirk Manus communicating over this communicator with the Quintesson General [face-to-face,] but the viewers clearly see Dirk Manus hang up on the Quintesson General, because he is being caught in the act by Captain Marissa Faireborn and he knows someone is behind him by his facial expression before he gets 100% caught, but the strange thing is this; he is still talking to this Quintesson General as if he was there [basically here is me thinking "You know Dirk the final bit you just said there the Quintesson General didn't hear or see any of that right? Because you hanged up or the equivalent of that on him and still gave important information away about your business deal to a potential stranger or a hostile individual which turned out to be Captain Marissa Faireborn and is it just me or if you were knowingly about to be caught or 100% caught, you would try and give out false information or lie try and attempt to cover your tracks? I know I would."

This episode receives: 7/10, this episode is a high ranking version of this mark.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 89: Grimlock's New Brain by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 89: Grimlock's New Brain by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is excellent

Storyline/Back stories/Origin storylines: the storyline is good, the back stories come to the viewers via [Teletraan-II] voice-over/seeing things on screen,  Decepticon [Ratbat's] reconnaissance/Intel on screen and in the dialogue exchanges. The origin storylines; the viewers get to see a pinch of the creation and the completion of a character and the completion of other characters [which I will discuss them momentarily in the next paragraphs.]

Character developments: well for some strange reason I think at this point they had a new line of merchandise to sell, I just based this on there are two new collectives and the one in the previous paragraph as well.

The first new collective goes by the name the Technobots, their leader's name is Scattershot collectively their transformation his name is Computron, now I cannot remember if I have mentioned this or not I probably have some time ago but just to cover my back either way, now let's just say one of these characters are not here for some reason when they try to form Computron they can still do it but because a character is missing this ultimate form will be missing their component as well this goes for any merging collectives.

The second newest collective goes by the name the Terrorcons; their leaders Hun-Gurrr, their collective transformation goes by the name Abominus.

Action sequences/Artistic visions: the viewers have these two components working hand-in-hand when we the viewers have Computron vs. Abominus this short element is excellent, but individually the artistic visions of the Dinobots with or without their leader Grimlock is charming as they are just happily standing in this lake fishing minus Swoop [he is not with the Dinobots in this episode.]

This episode receives: 8/10, now to begin with this episode does feel slow, but the more you watch of it the better it gets.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 88: Only Human by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 88: Only Human by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good.

Storyline/Back stories: the storyline for this episode is good and they should have made it into a two-parter storyline, there was much more that could have been explored used to achieve this and a back stories gets discussed in the dialogue exchanges.

Artistic visions/Action sequences/
Character developments: now I don't know what to say here, because I don't want to give too much away so I will be brief all three of these components work hand-in-hand at some point in this episode so we have these human beings getting in/climbing in and out of these Autobots and using them in some way and not to repeat myself again, but likewise if they were to make this episode into a two-parter the character developments would have allowed them to do that quite easily and individually there is a good scene of the sky in the opening section of this episode.

This episode receives: 7/10, so as things are in this episode they are good, but if I haven't made this clear enough already in a nutshell there is more than enough here to easily justify a two-parter, that way they could have made more use out of this character named Snake.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 87: The Dweller in the Depths by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 87: The Dweller in the Depths by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is excellent

Warning: there are elements of mechanical damage and consequently under the surface as well.

Storyline/Back stories: the storyline for this episode is good and the back stories come to the viewers from dialogue exchanges or mental imagery combined dialogue.

Character developments/Artistic visions/
Action sequences: now these three components go hand-in-hand; these Quintessons [just on a quick side note we get three different kinds of Quintessons in this episode, in short not the big ones with five faces; but a Commander, Scientist and an Engineer.]

But we the audience gets to see and experience Quintesson science as they engineered beasts and mechanics together [better known as Trans-Organics] and these creatures are from an artistic perspective highly creative and highly imaginative; from an action sequences perspective the main Trans-Organic [the Dweller] is beyond vicious as it takes the life force from the other Trans-Organics and then continues on its path of destruction, I can't say too much more than one more thing the zombies element is also highly imaginative [I will bring up the zombies element again shortly.]

Bloopers: now this took me a few times to work out, but this blooper is such a big one that I can't believe it took me time to work it out or maybe my brain wouldn't let me comprehend it; basically it is where we have Arcee saying "there's Rodimus Prime' signal" so we have Rodimus Prime saying this monologue in his voice, but here's the problem it is coming out of Autobot [Springer's] mouth and body yes what I am saying here is physically Rodimus Prime is nowhere to be seen here.
The next one is where we have the Quintesson Commander, being the wrong colour system for a scene as the Quintesson Engineer and him [it is just the Quintessons on screen] are offering Galvatron and other Decepticons this proposition and the final one is where we have Ultra Magnus referring to these characters as vampires more than once and they are not they are zombies every day of the week 100%, you know the old expression "If you look like a zombie, act like a zombie and you sound like a zombie; you are a zombie."

This episode receives: 9/10, this episode is as I have already said excellent, it had a clear idea of what it wanted to bring to the table and it brought it.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 86: The Ultimate Weapon by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 86: The Ultimate Weapon by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is top-notch entertainment.

Storyline/Moral messages: the storyline is excellent and there are moral message elements in the dialogue exchanges, for one example "It may just take you a while to realize what you can offer others."

Action sequences/Artistic visions: they work hand-in-hand in this episode once again for one example individually or vs. Metroplex; Trypticon brings a lot of devastation to the table or has the intent of inflicting devastation on to Metroplex.

Character developments: Rodimus Prime and Protectobot [First Aid,] the viewers can see and feel these individual character developments where in short they are unsure of themselves in their own personal ways and positions within the Autobots and I have to say Ultra Magnus comes off much more likable in this episode; Rodimus Prime has grown more into being a leader of the Autobots consequently Ultra Magnus doesn't need to nag or something to this effect so not only is there chemistry between Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus, but it also goes for Ultra Magnus and his fellow Autobots as well.

Bloopers: in this one scene you will see the Decepticon renegade [Octane] on the side of the Decepticons and my question is this; what happened here? Because Octane was banished from the Decepticons by Galvatron in fact Galvatron has tried to have Octane killed and just remembering from past episodes it looked like and sounded like Octane had sided with the Autobots so what changed? The next one is where we have Spike and Daniel Witwicky inside Trypticon disguised as engineers to repair Trypticon and Spike bumps into Cyclonus and he doesn't recognize them basically he tells them to get on and fix Trypticon and Cyclonus is meant to be Galvatron's right-hand man/General; let's just say this is not one of  Cyclonus' brightest moments and the final one is where towards the closing stages of this episode Rodimus Prime has no mouth area, but when he begins to speak it magically appears, it is where it is just First Aid and Rodimus Prime on screen together.

This episode receives: 10/10, because there is so much happening at a great pace this mark is and was incredibly easy to give this episode.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 85: The Quintesson Journal by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 85: The Quintesson Journal by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good

Storyline/Back stories/Character developments: the first thing I should point out is this episode is a continuation from the previous episode; but now I have said that these three components work hand-in-hand; they are good and the via the back stories in one way or another we get to know about these two different species [Xetaxxis and Lanarq,] but without giving too much away it highlights these two key points how manipulative the Quintessons are and only if the Autobots and the Decepticons and their many different little collectives  of Transformers could have at the very least an uneasy alliance [I have specifically said an uneasy alliance, because with their amount of history and the fact they truly with passion have a strong dislike for one another I think the best we could hope for is an uneasy alliance at best;] they would be able to focus on their biggest problem which are the Quintessons.

Action sequences/Artistic visions: these two components go hand-in-hand for this example we have Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus firstly getting on top of Sky Lynx [they are both kneeling on one knee,] Sky Lynx [is in transformed mode of a Bird] and then going off to this situation and then once at this situation firing their handheld weapons whilst standing on Sky Lynx and for an individual artistic vision we have one scene of these two Planets which are the home Planet of the Xetaxxis [Planet name Xetaxxis] and the home Planet of the Lanarq [Planet name Lanarq]

This episode receives: 7/10, so as I said at the beginning of this review this episode is good and on a side note now as some point in this episode between Rodimus Prime and Spike Witwicky they have this dialogue exchange where they bring up wrestling and it being fake. No surprise here I have a problem with this; it is not fake, it is simulated combat, yes the results are predetermined and yes they don't go out to deliberately hurt one another but the impact of this simulated combat is very real on every single level of the performer's lives and their surrounding connections to other people's lives as well.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 2, Disc 9] Episode 84: The Big Broadcast of 2006 by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 3, Volume 3, Disc 9] Episode 84: The Big Broadcast of 2006  by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is lots of fun

Storyline/Character developments/Comedy level: now firstly the storyline and the character developments go hand-in-hand for this episode and they are good and it has so much happening in it and secondly separately there is a good question-mark style ending for an ending. For one example of the comedy level; there is a feeling of an insider joke here where without giving too much away it is based around subliminal messages and if you don't know what I'm talking about I will explain it a little bit more.

Now around this time frame cartoons were specifically and heavily designed to sell merchandise that is and was their purpose, so you basically had children watching these TV programs including this one; getting these subliminal messages to go out and get their parents or guardians to buy their merchandise, so I find it amusing that they would base a episode around what they were doing in reality.

Action sequences/Artistic visions: likewise these two components go hand-in-hand in this episode; you have action here, action there, action everywhere and the artistic visions bring these highly chaotic sequences to life.

Bloopers: these Quintessons are talking to these Sharkticons [in their transformed modes of Sharks,] but for some strange reason these Quintessons are talking but their lips are not moving and the following one is where we have 3 identical  Junkions [Wreck-Gars] in the same scene and yes just to cover my back we cannot see the third one's goatee because of where he is standing but let's work under the theory and very high possibility like 99.9%, he is identical; it is in the scene where Wreck-Gar says "And that's the name of that tune."

The next one is a little bit strange; so we have Decepticon [Astrotrain] delivering this Intel to Galvatron with Cyclonus in this scene as well and suddenly we have Galvatron hitting down Astrotrain [in his robot mode,] I know nothing sounds out of the ordinary here because that is what Galvatron is like any way. But that is until I point this out; it looks/sounds like someone has edited this very small dialogue exchange, because I have seen this scene a small amount of times now and it just sounds like/looks like something is missing here and on top of that for another blooper here Cyclonus' voice is coming out of Galvatron's mouth.

This episode receives: 10/10, you know when you watch an episode and the creators of that episode be it animated or live-action just wanted to fill it up with predominantly non-stop action well this is what we have here.
