Match Total: 29/60 - this match is mixed

Comments: I don't know what to say here, because we have both of these two competitors missing one spot each and no I am not an expert on planning out a wrestling match, but this is one of those occasions where even I can pick up something isn't going according to plan, you're either looking for running into the move even though you know what is coming next; Flair has his legs up to perform a monkey flip type of move, but the timing is off and in short Flair is ready to receive Fujinami, but he gets left hanging there, but then  Fujinami runs in to perform the move or Flair struggles to perform an Oklahoma Roll he does the physical motions/position but doesn't have hold of Fujinami but in the interest of fairness and balance Flair at this point is bleeding; "The American Dream" says "He missed an Oklahoma Roll right there.]

What I am about to say next and for a little while is based on speculation and how it looks and sounds; the conclusion of this match just feels really badly planned out if at all. I know without giving too much away these styles are meant to look messy and unforeseen, but you will get this undercurrent of something is not okay here.

I just get this feeling that there may have been a disagreement of who will go over here, to the point where it just looks like and smells like that Fujinami got screwed without it being in kayfabe, basically there is enough here for me to suggest that this is a little like the infamous and legendary Montreal Screwjob of 1997. I know just for the record this is a bold claim, but something just tells me something is off about this situation; from this match not being as smooth as it should have been too; there being two Referees [one from the each opponents country,] to this really unlikable ending to this match where Fujinami performers this rollup sitting on Flair's posterior to then Flair kicking out to consequently Fujinami colliding with his countrymen Referee headbutt [which later on you can see on Fujinami there is this little nick of where the contact may have been/probably have been,] to Flair perform this cheating old-school rollup to American Referee counting the three count to the American Referee handing back to Flair his Championship for Flair to not hang around and head to the back [this just has that feeling of something isn't right here] at the same time with you can hear a little bit of the crowd telling us what they think [I can't put it here because it is adult language but they wouldn't be wrong] to Fujinami clearly saying making this gesture with his arm and hand to "Come back here" and his countrymen Referee to go to the Commentary Team then to go back to the Ring-Announcer [Gary Michael Cappetta] announcing basically Flair is still the WCW Heavyweight Champion whilst Fujinami is still in the ring and here's the cherry on the top of this diarrhea cake we even have some pyro going off [rough description the sparkler kind something like Goldberg's entrance] at the top of the ramp for no one in particular, because no one is there [that is why I am comfortably speculating/suggesting something isn't right here and yes  Fujinami comes out to similar pyro just more full on] to Ross and "The American Dream" trying to bring this Pay-Per-View to a close to Ross saying [I am paraphrasing here] let's have a look at Fujinami's chest so the cameraman gets back on Fujinami with basically getting hand gestures/body language from him to imply to "Screw it I am off." [with his countrymen Referee leaving during this as well.]

Yes continuing this is speculation, but I can see backstage politics possibly taking place where may be both Referees possibly refusing to count against their countrymen over worries about them receiving abuse from their own country people or possibly if it isn't them both camps were possibly in disagreement and having "The American Dream" referencing this in the post match as basically "A great, great  match." Is stretching the truth so far that if it was an elastic band it would be stretching to its breaking point and the only reason I have given this match 5/10 on the Recommend Watch is because just watch this match and see what you think of it; kayfabe or not? For me there is a giant question Mark over this entire match slot and end to this Pay-Per-View, for those that are better educated or qualified than I, that may have a different outlook at the very least you can see why I have come to the conclusions I have here; it is just extremely messy and as I have already said something isn't right here, But I was really looking forward to this match and to leave this on a positive we get to see some old-school wrestling, you know the slow and technical wrestling, but things eventually turn to absolute diarrhea;I usually wouldn't tell you this much, but in this situation either way you look about it I couldn't leave anything out, because it wouldn't have made sense otherwise.

Basic Result:  the WCW Heavyweight Champion "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair Retains his WCW Heavyweight Championship.

This Pay-Per-View receives: 6/10, this Pay-Per-View is good; I know on one hand there are a couple of poor matches whilst on the other hand there are positive matches on this Card, but generally speaking after everything is said and done this mark is the only one I had in mind.

Now sadly RIP Jim Crockett Jr. to begin with he did three terms as the NWA [National Wrestling Alliance] President 1985-1988, but a big thank you for selling your wrestling promotion [Jim Crockett Promotions] to Ted Turner back in the day of 1988, so it could become WCW, now I know he was bankrupt at this time, I was thinking I would just put that in place before I had some feedback.]

Comments: as I have already made reference to this match is good; to be a little bit more precise it is solidly good, you know it follows a reliable match outlay and it looks like/sounds like the Ring-Announcer [Gary Michael Cappetta] is having a little technical issue on the entrance of these two competitors, I think the sound system has blown, meaning what he is saying in their entrances, you can still hear it, but no way as loud as it should be as if there is one thing definitely wrong here and you hear him less when their individual entrance music hits as well. We have an attempt of outside interference, but someone comes down to prevent that from even happening and yes I am aware that this is the Spoiler Alarm Version, but still I don't like giving everything away.

Comments: I don't have much to say about this match, just because with all four of these participants, you know what you get with them and they deliver it. I do wonder and yes this is speculation because I have no way of proving it; if they were told you have this certain amount of time to work with and everyone involved in this slot said "What the hell, let's just have a quick paced match with a hard-hitting approach.

I know this is the Spoiler Alarm Version, but I still don't like giving everything away and I also know I have been criticizing the booking decisions and match outlays, but this one is smart; yes if or when you come to watch this match including aftermath you will say "I have seen this format or a slightly different outlay to this one before and it is well used like potentially on a consistent basis somewhere in the wrestling industry, it is one of those formats that is ago to outlay." I know this; but for here and now in this specific situation it is smart and it achieves everything they wanted to achieve here and more without turning either team Heel; they just put it all on another individual to protect both teams and potentially elevate this individual [just to cover my back this is all based on speculation and how it looks here and now.]

Comments: if you have been into wrestling long enough; you will know about these two performers; that individually or together there is nothing fancy about them, but what they will give you is a solid match with hard-hitting, smash mouth wrestling.

I am speculating here mixing with common sense, because these two characters/performers were in a tag team called Doom Managed by Theodore R. Long, but now just Reed in this match; someone did some word play and came up with Doom/Dome; let's have a Thunder Dome Cage Match and yes if you have been paying attention it looks like the WWE had taken two ideas from WCW with this Shark Cage idea being above the ring in some fashion [I know this one is not in the middle but it is still up in the air and are we not in the era of the ThunderDome currently within the WWE. Before I have any negative comeback I am aware that the WWE owns all the rights to WCW on every single level and just one final thing here if Simmons has broke away from the other two; why do they all individually come out to the same entrance music?

RIP Butch "Hacksaw"/"The Natural" Reed, without solid and reliable workers like you to make other characters/performers look better in the ring the wrestling industry wouldn't function it would gradually grind to a halt; this is a fantastic point for any up-and-coming performer of any gender, you don't need to be a great wrestler; you just need to know what you are good at and be great at it or reliable at it; RIP Butch "Hacksaw"/"The Natural" Reed. [The wrestling sentiment can also go for Simmons as well whilst I'm on the subject.]

Comments: wow this match is going to need some explaining, the only reason I Recommend Watch this match is to watch this complete and utter shambles of diarrhea.

The Ring-Announcer [Gary Michael Cappetta;] "The loser must leave the ring on a Stretcher; full disclosure he does say other things before this and after this as well, but I just took out the key point;  So everyone with me so far?

So when El Gigante is carrying this gurney down to the ring; "The American Dream" points out on Commentary [I am paraphrasing here] in World Championship Wrestling in this match a pin is just as bad as getting taken out on a stretcher [you are looking for/hearing out for when El Gigante is getting into the ring somewhere around here] and yes I had to re-watch this entrance because I missed it the first time around, I remember "The American Dream" saying something the first time around.

I wasn't expecting too much from this match based on the grounds of who was involved; basically two massive men far from the most gifted of individuals; in short two Hosses, so I did wonder who was going to take control of this match as in its structure plan; I got my answer and that would be no one. This entire slot including aftermath involving another two characters/performers was not worth booking at all; it's like they booked it and realized they couldn't achieve it so they had to add pins count as well [which this is speculation but more than likely the case the audience are not aware of this stipulation inclusion unless they are around the Commentary table,] but on closer inspection [I have seen this a small amount of times at this point] this didn't work either because if you look at the shoulder we can see this individual lifts the shoulder off the mat but the Referee still counts to three [yes just in case you're wondering I have seen it a few more times now it happens and the Referee is right in front of it; yes there is a case that he isn't looking up. But he is right there, now if they wanted to put it down as a Submission this would work, but I have no idea why they just didn't have a Singles Match and be done with it with or without a Special Referee stipulation just so the Special Referee could design the plan out of this match to maybe attack the winner or loser of this match or to make sure no one else gets involved or stick manager with one or both of these two characters/performers so they can engineer plan of this match basically both of these characters/performers need and on-screen character or character/performer beside them or better yet don't put in situations they are having to go up against similar performers that are Hosses which struggle or can't plan out matches; this match only goes on for 2 minutes and 13 seconds.

But the Crowd react to this positively; if you around in the 1990's you will remember when we were easily pleased as a wrestling fan and "cynical" was just a word in a dictionary.

Comments: I don't know what the hell I am going to say about this match, because it is safe to assume Oz [with The Great Wizard & a small black monkey with a long tail;] that their entrance goes on longer than this match in its entirety and no I haven't timed it, but considering this match only went on for 26 seconds their entrance safely went on for much, much, much longer and just for the record I didn't want to be too harsh on the Commentary team; they did what they had to do and that was to put over this debuting gimmick/persona so yes what we have here folks is a squash match.

This debut is garbage firstly; a gimmick based on the Wizard of Oz is not a good start, because there isn't much you can do with it in fact this gimmick lasted from this Pay-Per-View until Kevin Nash was repackaged as Vinnie Vegas in 21/01/1992 at the Pay-Per-View Clash of the Champions XIX [yes I had to go and research this,] secondly as I have already made reference to when this entrance last longer than the match itself there is a problem and not only that we don't even get a minute squash match, I mean they could have possibly gotten away with this if it was a TV program content debut but not a Pay-Per-View lengthy creatively put together entrant debut; in short this feels and looks like a complete waste of time; the only thing I can talk about in a positive sense is this finishing move from Oz; it has a beginning of a Power Bomb begin until the receiver is on Oz's shoulder face up and then he does a spinning helicopter release yes on reflection I have given another attribute mark onto the Match Quality and Recommend Watch, because of this; but on a momentarily bit of research I cannot find its official name.

Basic Result:  Oz [with The Great Wizard & a small black monkey with a long tail] is victorious here; yes I know in this Review of this match /Blog I have made this crystal clear, but I am just doing the housekeeping in this paragraph.

Comments: okay who had the stupid idea of this gimmick of Big Josh [looks like a woodchuck type of character] walking down to the ring with these two live bears walking on their hind legs in these face muzzles with this other individual to walk them back, this is not amusing or funny, the only thing that can be deemed funny is one of these bears goes Number 1 on walking down to the ring.

In hindsight this entrance sets the tone for this entire Match booking/slot. This is garbage on top of garbage on top of garbage the Crowd and including myself were not into this match, hell the only ones that were trying to do their job and make something out of this match were "The American Dream" & Jim Ross on commentary; but you know that expression "You can dress up some diarrhea, but at the end of the day it is still some diarrhea this sums up this entire section of this Pay-Per-View perfectly." This match/slot is and was a complete waste of time.

I don't know why Big Josh performs a Earthquake style; Earthquake Splash, [Earthquake stamps his feet in his version around the receiver to symbolize the tremors of an earthquake as in it is imminent; where Earthquake comes off the ring ropes up and down to land on the receiver's chest facing the head, but Big Josh comes off the ropes once to land the same way on the receiver of this move and in this case it is called "The Butt Drop" - Jim Ross or "Butt Bumped" - "The American Dream."] But  even name very much sums up this match as being lots of posterior.

The reason why I have said I don't know why is very simply this; it doesn't work on any level if the aggressor is not a heavyweight pushing or edging towards a superheavyweight; bigger the better. Don't get me wrong Big Josh as his name would suggest is big but too small to make this finishing move believable and to sell, but in the interest of fairness and balance these two individuals are far, far, so far away from being from the most gifted or technically sound performers like you could have free air miles for the rest of your life and the next generation of your family that is how far yes I know this analogy only works providing you like to travel in a usual world but still it works [based on what I have seen here,] so I could/I can make a good case for this finisher to be used based on the grounds in theory it is something easy to set up and execute. [Yes I am aware I have just contradicted myself here.]

Comments: now this mark is possibly going to need some explaining; simply put this is one of those moments in wrestling where it is sweet to hear a real-life Father in "The American Dream" put over his real-life Son "The Natural" on Commentary, support him and does acknowledge he is a little bit biased; but he does a professional job talking and putting over "The Computerized Man of the 1990's" until the Match Storyline takes a turn and this business/computer analytic gimmick happened at just the right time as computers were beginning to be a big thing, so whomever came up with this; you had a stroke of genius here [I should just point out that I am basing everything on what I have seen in this Pay-Per-View, this is my first experience of this gimmick.]

Comments: now again I don't have too much to say here, but this match is solidly good. Koloff's finisher goes by the name of "The Russian Sickle" [he irish-whip's his opponents off the ropes and as they come back off them he walks in with a clothesline;] it is something solid and it indicates to the Crowd that "he isn't getting up after that" so it is easy to sell [I am talking from a wrestling sense here] and after seeing it a small amount of times now; it is growing on me more and more, I think it is because it is easy to set up, hopefully without too much injuries to either participants and as I have already said it is easy to sell and if you're wondering if I was a wrestler I would be a workhorse; you know nothing fancy, reliable, safe and ground and pound or on special occasions perform a elbow drop from the top turnbuckle; but 99.9% of the time I would like to keep my feet on the ground and avoid the high-risk district which hopefully leads to less time off due to injuries.

Comments: this match is quite messy in its entirety from beginning to end with not one but two extra characters/performer with either balancing up the numbers or getting involved at some points [it is one person, I know this is the Spoiler Alarm Version, but I still don't like giving everything away, briefly couldn't creative come up with a shorter persona name for Page, I’m just saying it is on the long side of things and we have Tony Schiavone on interviewing duty.
