Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 7/10

Match Slot Storyline: 7/10

Crowd Participation: 9/10

On Commentary: Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse “The Pilgrim"/"The Body" Ventura 8/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 7/10

Recommend Watch: 7/10

Match Total: 45/60 - this match is good

Comments: I like The Heenan Family narrative; it gives an element of realism to proceedings. This match begins as soon as we have some of the baby faces in the ring, the commentary team do an excellent job bringing us the action, we also have a little bit of comedy throughout this match with the involvement of Heenan.

This pay-per-view receives: 5/10, this pay-per-view is mixed; yes most of these match slots are positive including the promos or anything in the middle of them. But this pay-per-view has one gigantic problem and experienced viewers of wrestling would know this as well.

Now there are 5 matches on this pay-per-view card and I really don't want to tell you this, but I have to; to justify the marking of this pay-per-view. Sadly at some point or another the participants of these matches sometimes don't get their entrance music or any entrance music, which clearly indicates they aren't winning [I know, I know I could look on the Internet for the results and yes I do use those places for spelling names and information.] But I don't want to be told even before the match begins that these participants aren't winning, this is better known as the jobber treatment, as in this individual or individuals aren't winning so why should we waste time giving them an entrance just to cover my back, because I know how social media works, it isn't unheard of for someone or a group or whatever to have this treatment and pick up the W. So I would say 99% of the time they aren't winning. I don't know why they just didn't stick with the Captain's entrance music and have the more come down together, like they did for the first match/part with The Enforces; if it was all about time management of the actual pay-per-view. In fact this idea would have solved these two problems of jobbing these established wrestlers/characters/other on-screen personalities and time management of this pay-per-view and it wouldn't have infuriated me, trust me the last time it happens on this pay-per-view I went mental, because it took so much of the enjoyment away of this pay-per-view. On reflection I can't believe they actually did it in the first place and for those quick minded people, yes this does not apply to the Warrior and hence why I couldn't say too much when The Finkel was introducing some of these opponents, for future reference unless it is something interesting or note worthy I will just keep it basic as it relates to the Ring announcers introducing the matchesAnd lastly the crowd participation has to be given a special mention for playing their part and being there/here for this pay-per-view.

Basic Result:  the WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior, "Powerhouse" Jim "The Anvil" Neidhar, The Rockers: Shawn Michaels & Marty pick up the Win.

Basic walk-through of this event:

* The WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior on leaving the ringside area to go to the back runs passed Heenan to give him a running clothesline. Simultaneously in a nutshell Monsoon saying goodbye and promoting upcoming event with the movie No Holds Barred and this wrestling event on Wednesday 27/12/1989.

* Still photographs and the entrance music of the WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior: look back over this pay-per-view in pictures, the name of The Ultimate Warrior's entrance music is "Unstable." Which I should have remembered this, because his character was enthusiastic, but if slightly a bit unstable. Back to live pictures of Heenan still struggling with the effects of the clothesline.

The highest ranking match on this card based on attributes that we see would be: The Million Dollar Team: Captain: "The Million Dollar" Ted Dibiase, The Powers of Pain: The Barbarian & The Warlord [with Mr. Fuji] & "The Human Wrecking Machine" Zeus vs. The Hulkamaniacs; Captain: the WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, Jake "The Snake" Roberts [with Damien the Snake,] the WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition: Ax & Smash; 4-on-4 Surviving Series Elimination Match with two Referees; one to call the match and the other to focus on the participants which have been eliminated to make sure they go back to the locker room and handle the outside ring activities with 55/60.

The lowest ranking match on this card based on attributes that we see would be: The King's Court; Captain: Macho King Randy Savage [with Queen/Macho Queen Sherri,] Greg "The Hammer" Valentine [with "The Mouth of The South"/"Colonel" Jimmy Hart,] "Canada's Strongest" Man" Dino Bravo & Canadian Earthquake vs. The 4x4s Captain: "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Brett " The Hitman" Hart, Ron "Rugged" Garvin & Hercules; 4-on-4 Surviving Series Elimination Match with two Referees; one to call the match and the other to focus on the participants which have been eliminated to make sure they go back to the locker room and handle the outside ring activities with 28/60.

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 7/10

Match Slot Storyline: 7/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 7/10

Match Total: 42/60 - this match is good

Comments: the Referee [John Binella; I could be completely wrong here, I know or aware all these referees minus two, so just to cover my back I will put the other one as well Rene Goulet,] in a nutshell when Jacques hugs Raymond the Referee doesn't see this as a tag. Moving on in commentary in a nutshell Monsoon basically saying when he was wrestling he could do kip ups and things like this, but Venture doesn't believe him. Monsoon I believe was joking here, no disrespect to him but if you have ever seen pictures of him he has more of a grizzly bear shape. He also calls a pin by Mr. Perfect a Reverse Sunset Flip Pin, I'm going to say by today's modern language after some research Sliding Rolling-Pin [it is where; you are behind your opponent in waist lock, you push them into the ropes, you roll them up and if everything is done correctly you should be crouched on top of them to get the pin-fall.] Before  this pin-fall we have a fundamentally sound piledriver being performed by Piper on to Raymond, it is one of those slow ones, but in this case it shows the viewers if done correctly how this move should be done, as between them they will show you how will protect Raymond's head and neck as best they can. [Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible if anyone tries I will not be held responsible, because any wrestling move them rightly or wrongly still hurts,] Mr. Perfect end up going outside of the ring because Rude is trying to pull himself up on the outside ring apron but consequently sends Mr. Perfect flying backwards out of the ring on to the ring apron there is this argument [this was a spot for Snuka To bang their heads together.] Finally Snuka and Mr. Perfect have a collision,From Mr. Perfect coming off the ropes; the commentary team paraphrasing here tried to pull over and they hit heads, which after about four of five replays could have happened, Mr. Perfect [I am not blaming him, but giving you something to look for] he looks as if he is running off the ropes to perform flying back elbow at the last minute, but they just clash and it is one of those clashes where even as a wrestling fan, you know something has gone at the very least a little bit wrong, but I must stress Mr. Perfect looks fine after he tag out for a little break, even though on him finding his corner you'll see The Genius finger-pointing him to his tag team corner and Mr. Perfect after this match slot does join in a promo section after this as well.

Basic Result: The Rude Brood Captain: "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect [with The Genius,] The Fabulous Rougeaus: Jacques & Raymond Rougeau [with "The Mouth of The South"/"Colonel" Jimmy Hart] pick up the Win.

Basic walk-through of this event:

Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse “The Pilgrim"/"The Body" Ventura: Commentary watch the replay and talk over it.

* Sean Mooney: Interviewer The Rude Brood about their victory and Mooney tries to get the scoop on their potentially being problems or not in The Heenan Family.

"Mean" Gene Okerund: Interviews The Ultimate Warriors Captain: the WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior, "Powerhouse" Jim "The Anvil" Neidhar, The Rockers: Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty.

* The Finkel: Ring announcer introduces the next match

Pay-Per-View Rewind of: WWF/WWE Survivor Series 23/11/1989 Match 3 Part 3 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 8/10

Match Slot Storyline: 7/10

Crowd Participation: 10/10

On Commentary: Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse “The Pilgrim"/"The Body" Ventura 10/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 10/10

Recommend Watch: 10/10

Match Total: 55/60 - this match is excellent

Comments: throughout this match slot our commentary team do a fantastic job for an example; in a nutshell having this debate about how our referee for this match Referee [Earl Hebner] is or isn't biased in favour of the baby faces; The Hulkamaniacs. Even though it has to be said he should have disqualified Zeus the first time around, next Hebner enforces a fair rule, but it is a rule that you don't often see in forced [the rule is you have a five count to perform a tag team move and leave the ring or get disqualified] as it relates to the tag team of  The Powers of Pain he gave them one opportunity to stop, but he counted it again, so he is no opportunity to take the action he took, [at least this way it keeps this tag team looking strong without being individually pinned.] Whilst I am inside the ring I did pick up one the fact that someone must have fixed the loud sounding corners of the ring that I made reference to earlier in this pay-per-view, yes for those picky people out there, obviously you still get some sound when a wrestler gets Irish whipped into them, but my point is they know way as loud as they originally were. The outside Referee looks very familiar to me, it is a very young Shane McMahon or as he is listed under the referee's  for this pay-per-view Shane Stevens. Yes I knew he began his career at this level but I didn't know what pay-per-view or pay-per-views he did in this role.

Basic Result: The Hulkamaniacs; Captain: the WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, Jake "The Snake" Roberts [with Damien the Snake,] the WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition: Ax & Smash pick up the Win here.

Basic walk-through of this event:

* I have to be honest this does feel very much like the toilet break of this pay-per-view [isn't it nice for them to put one in for us; you will get my point as you read on.]

* Sean Mooney: Interviewer Macho King Randy Savage [with Queen/Macho Queen Sherri] and Zeus about what happened tonight in their match, an upcoming event Wednesday 27/12/1989; the movie No Holds Barred 1989 starring Hulk Hogan as Rip and Zeus a.k.a. Tom Lister Jr./as Tom 'Tiny' Lister Jr. Including a small selection of WWF/WWE on-screen personalities/people. If you're interested here is the review of No Holds Barred 1989 https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2022/10/no-holds-barred-1989-by.html. On some research the film was released on 02/07/1989 and then more importantly building up to their tag team with his Queen in his corner vs. the WWF Champion Hogan and his tag team partner Beefcake in a Steel Cage Match.

* "Mean" Gene Okerund: Interviews Beefcake with the WWF Champion Hogan joining them a moment later to build up this match and suddenly Queen/Macho Queen Sherri comes into their locker room with door open in the back to the left, she mouths off and throws powder in both of their faces with their opponents for this upcoming event attacking them; beat down angle with some wrestlers coming in to break this up.

* Vince McMahon: does voice-over, of what we have left of this pay-per-view; of this outlay of the matches and their participants like vaguely similar or basically similar like a sports team with their team names.

* Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse " The Pilgrim"/"The Body" Ventura; discussing the backstage situation, be for the Vince McMahon recapture of what we have left and then moving on to there is friction in The Heenan Family.

 * Sean Mooney: Interviewer The Rude Brood Captain: "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect [with The Genius,] The Fabulous Rougeaus: Jacques & Raymond Rougeau [with "The Mouth of The South"/"Colonel" Jimmy Hart] building up to their match tonight which is immediately next/now.

* "Mean" Gene Okerund: Interviews/tries to get a quick word from The Rude Brood's opponents as they are heading to the ring now Roddy's Rowdies Captain: "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "The Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, The Bushwhackers: Luke & Butch, Okerund gets a little out of Piper. Not only is Piper the Captain here he is very much the parent of the group being excited by this match, but is trying to sort out the other three with this piece of chicken or pieces of chicken.

* The Finkel: Ring announcer introduces the next match

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 4/10

Match Slot Storyline: 4/10

Crowd Participation: 9/10

On Commentary: Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse " The Pilgrim"/"The Body" Ventura 6/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 1/10

Recommend Watch: 4/10

Match Total: 28/60 - this match is mixed

Comments: now I don't know what to say here, because there a small thing, but a big problem here which even though this is a spoiler version I can't tell you until I finish revealing this pay-per-view. It is one of those kind of things that you would appreciate me not telling you right until the end of this pay-per-view review, just based on it is one of those things that once you have learnt you can't unlearn and this is not the only occasion they do it, because they do it in the next match slot as well as far as I'm aware, just to the record experienced wrestling fans would pick up on this as well.

When The 4x4s do this 2 x 4's little routine, it doesn't exactly go according to plan as Garvin miss passes to Duggan and/or Duggan just doesn't have time to react so he doesn't react which means this 2 x 4 ends up on the mat. I think this is a cautionary tale of you should never miss a practice session in anything you do, be it sports or dancing or anything else, but the crowd and I found this funny.

This match was putting me to sleep, I mean I was all right at the beginning, but the more and more it goes on which just for the record based on some research goes on for just over 23 minutes and putting what conclusion we have for this match, it is tiring and annoying; the only reason I put 4/10 in the Recommend Watch category, it is one of those occasions where you have to watch it just to see how boring it is and how annoying the ending conclusion to this match is, I mean with full disclosure I can't remember too much about this match if I was to be honest with you, but what I can remember is the crowd were up for this match hence why in the crowd participation they received 9/10, but where the previous match had flow to it this match was completely the opposite as in it was slow and cumbersome.

The Basic Result: The King's Court; Captain: Macho King Randy Savage [with Queen/Macho Queen Sherri,] Greg "The Hammer" Valentine [with "The Mouth of The South"/"Colonel" Jimmy Hart,] "Canada's Strongest" Man" Dino Bravo & Canadian Earthquake are your Winners

Basic walk-through of this event:

* "Mean" Gene Okerlund; Interviewer gives us an up-to-date on the condition of "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes.

* The Finkel: Ring announcer introduces The Genius

* The Genius segment: on this platform performs his Thanksgiving 1989 poem

* The Finkel: Ring announcer introduces the next match

Pay-Per-View Rewind of: WWF/WWE Survivor Series 23/11/1989 Match 1 Part 1 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Pay-Per-View Rewind of: WWF/WWE Survivor Series 23/11/1989 Match 1 Part 1 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Chosen by: You, kind of. I sent out this tweet/poll;  What brand/promotion pay-per-view am I going to review next? After the 1 I am working on which is WCW; You decide? With WCW receiving 0%, both NXT and WWE receiving 25% each, so our winner with 50% is the WWF and because we are getting closer to Thanksgiving on Thursday 24/11/2022, I had this pay-per-view in mind as it is right up my street I really like tag team wrestling, on the one hand this reminds me of how far the WWE have allowed tag team wrestling in general to fall from grace and on the other hand it reminds me why I like AEW so much.

Basic walk-through of this event:

* Giving thanks messages: from the wrestlers and on-screen characters

* Vince McMahon: does voice-over, of this outlay of the matches and their participants like vaguely similar or basically similar like a sports team with their team names.

* Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse "The Pilgrim"/"The Body" Ventura: Commentary welcome us to this pay-per-view; they have a brief discussion about the return of The Pilgrim from last year's Survivor Series as Ventura is wearing the had from last year, but unlike last year he wants to be called his character name of "The Body." Ventura With a this back and forth of very little quality of heel work from Ventura[he comes across as an old villain with the standard laugh;] Monsoon treats this as a parent that doesn't think their child is funny but amuses them Ventura [a little angrily; because he didn't get the reaction he wanted, but I don't know what he expected from this if I was to be honest,Even in kayfabe this section and a little bit on commentary just falls flat on its face] Ventura sends it down to The Finkel or better known as Howard " The Finkel" Finkel our Ring announcer.

* The Finkel: Ring announcer introduces our first match of the evening.

Warning/Disclaimer: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/blood warning. Disclaimer; I have never been a professional wrestler or likely to be.

Match/Stipulations: The Enforcers; Captain: The Big Boss Man [with "The Doctor of Style" Slick,] Bad News Brown, "The Model" Rick Martel & The Honky Tonk Man [with "The Mouth of The South"/"Colonel" Jimmy Hart]vs. The Dream Team; Captain: "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Brutus " The Barber" Beefcake, The Red Rooster & Tito Santana; 4-on-4 Surviving Series Elimination Match with two Referees; one to call the match and the other to focus on the participants which have been eliminated to make sure they go back to the locker room and handle the outside ring activities

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 7/10

Match Slot Storyline: 7/10

Crowd Participation: 8/10

On Commentary: Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse “The Pilgrim"/"The Body" Ventura 6/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 7/10

Recommend Watch: 7/10

Match Total: 42/60 - this match is good

Comments: this is a solid good opening to this pay-per-view. Now if you get confused about what Gorilla Monsoon says about Tino Santana turning his back The Honky Tonk Man, I have no idea and including the subtitles have no idea either with this word indistinct [basically mean unclear,] but if I had to speculate I hear something like Paul Hardy but on some research Santana's real name is Merced Solis,  Tonk Man's name is Roy Wayne Farris and I am even looked up the list of The Referee's name's for this pay-per-view and there is no match of that name.

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes Irish whips The Big Boss Man into the top far corner and this part of the ring doesn't sound safe, there is a clear and obvious sound of something that doesn't sound safe, even the opposite corner sounds a bit off, but no way is as bad as the far corner; it gets mentioned on commentary by Monsoon and this is not the only time this corner makes it sound and gets mentioned on commentary; basically someone may want to go and check that this corner is okay at the very least.

Boss Man tags out to Tonk Man, but you can clearly see Boss Man breaking kayfabe smiling, having a little word with  Bad News Brown [ you'll know when you have come to the right spot, because they quickly change from seeing these two on screen to switching to another camera which conveniently tries to cover this up] they are standing side-by-side on the apron. But in kayfabe Brown is a lone wolf gimmick/individual doesn't want to be tag into this match and they have this spot of accidental hit later on.

The Red Rooster and Tonk Man has this collision; Red Rooster comes running off the ropes and they just collide. Rhodes hits "The Model" Rick Martel with a standing dropkick this looks excellent, then we have Martel being pinned by Rhodes, but we have Monsoon accusing Rhodes of pulling Martel up and consequently out of the pin which the commentary table in a nutshell put across how stupid this is. This however is not the case as Martel actually kicks out, so there is no problem here whatsoever.

Briefly the crowd are here for this match as they back up this match as my attribute mark would suggest.

Basic Result: The Enforcers; Captain: The Big Boss Man [with "The Doctor of Style" Slick,] Bad News Brown, "The Model" Rick Martel & The Honky Tonk Man [with "The Mouth of The South"/"Colonel" Jimmy Hart] pick up the Win here.

Basic walk-through of this event:

* Sean Mooney: Interviewer talked to some of the losers after this match behind the curtain with video replays over what happened at points in the closing stages of this match slot.

"Mean" Gene Okerund: Interviews The 4x4s Captain: "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Brett " The Hitman" Hart, Ron "Rugged" Garvin & Hercules [yes they all have 2 x 4's as it relates to what size apparently and Duggan's wrestling gimmick] about their upcoming match which is coming up immediately next/now.

* The Finkel: Ring announcer introduces the next match.
