Review Time

Warning: there are flashing effects/colourful effects/animal cruelty

Storyline: it is good; we have two storylines in this film one set around these animals in this Local Park and the other is set in our world of human beings [a very short distance away from this Park,] so these two storylines are intertwined in this film; just a heads up there is extra animation throughout the closing credits be it the first lot or the second lot in one way or another and the pacing is something safe and reliable.

Art/Characters/Performances: it is colourful and easy to settle down with animation; I do like how these colours in this Park landscape such as the trees and their leafs are at different stages of their development as it relates to being Autumn, the visual representation of our characters are good as well; for an example our lead character/performer [Surly/Arnett] is a purple squirrel different contrasts of purple like 90% over his body heavier on his nose whilst going down his front he has this white strip which isn't 100% white it looks to have a very little bit of purple in there as well; with lighter purples around his eyes ; with this very fine dark purple on his lips and finally his black eyebrows.

The character developments and the performances including the on-screen chemistry; now not to repeat myself too much here, but this is all something safe and reliable as well [I will discuss this more in the final section of this review.]

Comedy/Action: in this example it covers both of these components; it is where Surly/Arnett is coming slowly across this telephone wire with these pigeons moving out of his way one by one [flying off] so Surly/Arnett can move on to the next pigeon in line until he gets to the last one, he doesn't move out of his way so Surly/Arnett sends him flying by kicking him off this telephone wire.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; this project is one of those projects that uses a tick sheet of a safe computer animation project; this basically means easy to understand storyline or storylines, colourful engaging animation and simple yet effective character developments which this film has all of this in it.

The reason why I call them safe computer animation projects; is because that is what essentially they are, as long as you hit the young children and families demographic it should safely make its money back and more to justify a sequel; in this case there is a sequel of this project named The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature 2017. So let's leave this review on a positive; if you have a copy of this film or means to watch it via a online subscription services and you have children of a young age in single digits or early double digits this should keep them entertained for a while or you could watch it is a family it only goes on for roughly 85 minutes.
