He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 65: The Heart of a Giant by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 65: The Heart of a Giant by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good-ish, but it does have some problems.

Message in the episode: it shows creatures or people in cages [so I'm not sure if this is animal cruelty or slavery or both,] but in this episode they use words like creatures but in some cases these characters have physical human qualities to them [so this would be slavery.]

Action sequences: I do like the sequence where we have He-Man sitting on the back of Stratos flying around some scenes.

Ending message: in a nutshell it is this: don't judge someone on their looks.

This episode receives: 63% approval, now taking everything into consideration this episode has good action sequences with a good selection of characters [minus Orko.]

Review Time: this episode is lots of fun, but there is no Cringer/Battle Cat in this episode.

Story of friend: Man-At-Arms tells He-Man and the viewers [with imagery and dialogue over it,] of this time his mentor and he were very busy with something but it went wrong [I am trying not to give too much away,] this story was a nice touch to this episode.

Action sequences: there are many action-packed sequences [I will just give you a small list,] He-Man could be running, jumping, climbing, swimming or many other things throughout these landscapes including going up against some creatures on the way.

Begging thing: now don't get me wrong I get it; it shows that even He-Man will do what is necessary to help somebody out, but I have to say it is really cheesy.

Ending message: it talks about best friends or friends looking after one another and how nice it would be to have a friend like this; then it continues by saying you may have two like this already [Mother and Father.] Now usually I wouldn't go too in-depth like this on the ending messages, unless it was really necessary. But I have to say I am scratching my head here a bit, because best friends or friends are not the same as Mother or a Father or am I missing the point here [just for the record I have seen the ending message twice and I still think the same way.]

This episode receives: 90% approval, this adventure is action-packed.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 63: The Huntsman by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 63: The Huntsman by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: I really don't like this episode.

Cringer/Battle Cat: individually these two characters are really interesting, Cringer is very funny in mostly everything he says or does in this episode. Battle Cat has some really good action-packed sequences [one of these action-packed sequences is where he is jumping from one place to another with He-Man sitting on his back ready to catch Teela in mid-air.]

Message in the episode: basically this episode has been designed to talk about/show mild themes of animal cruelty and pretty much nothing else.

Ending message: in a nutshell it is this; try to control your anger and discuss your problems reasonably

This episode receives: 27% approval, Cringer/Battle Cat individually these two characters give this episode some positive elements, but as I have already said at the beginning of this review I really don't like this episode.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 62: Golden Disks of Knowledge by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 62: Golden Disks of Knowledge by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is highly entertaining; with just one downfall Orko is annoying.

Many characters: there are many characters being used in this adventure [even the characters that have limited appearances] brings something to this episode.

Artistic visions: they are all eye-catching, be it the ghost images [or I think it would be safe to say they are ghost images] how they make themselves known on the screen showing up one second and the next second or less they are not there, but they are replaced with a different ghost image on a different part of the screen.

Castle Grayskull/Snake Mountain, now both of these locations get excellently used in this episode firstly we have Castle Grayskull on the outside it looks like a great light show with lights coming out of the eye sockets and the drawbridge going up and down [secondly we have the ghosts thing going on inside.]

Snake Mountain: the audience gets I would say a good look around this place [into some rooms and locations which we may not have seen much of before,] it is one of those times where I don't want to tell you too much because they have really put in the time and effort to show you more around Snake Mountain, but to be fair I think I can say this; there is a surprise somewhere in this location.

Action sequences: interesting, well placed throughout and there is a good variety in them as well.

Ending message: in a nutshell it is this; everyone deserves a second chance

This episode receives: 90% approval, I had to take off some of the percentage based on Orko being Orko, it's like every other character and everything else is pulling together to bring this adventure to life and then we have Orko just being annoying.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 61: Pawns of the Game Master by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is very good to excellent.

Training/Action sequences: well there are many, they all have something a little bit different to offer.

Comedy level: Cringer is very funny in this episode [his comments are beautifully timed to be as I have already said very funny.]

Artistic visions: there is one sequence where we have this evildoer doing some research on some characters from Eternia, sitting in this chair with this control in his hand while looking at this monitor with some clips of some characters abilities at the same time he is talking to himself and discussing his options.

Ending message: in a nutshell winning or losing know how to do either properly and by doing this; more people will want to play games with you.

This episode receives: 77% approval, now you may have noticed I was a little bit brief as it relates to the training or action sequences this is because they are all good fun. But it does feel like this episode is slightly rushing things, in fact before the ending message the ending to this episode feels incredibly quick and almost sudden [it is one of those rare occasions where a second part to this episode would have been a better option, the fundamental core is moving so quickly with a great idea of where everything is going that having roughly another 20 minutes to this adventure wouldn't really be too difficult, that is how quick this episode is moving everything is moving in or out at different points.

This is why this episode receives this percentage, how can I put this; they had a great idea with this episode, but they really did rush it in certain areas, by the time the audience thinks there's more to this episode [there should have been] it quickly gets rounded up and that's that.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 60: The Return of Granamyr by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 60: The Return of Granamyr by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is excellent fun, but there is this pink little dragon [on a side note is dragon is big but as it relates to the other two dragons used in this episode he is little,] his voice is just irritating I don't know what it is [but every time he speaks it is just irritating] sadly there is no Cringer/Battle Cat being used in this episode.

Training/Action sequences: these elements just have so much to offer its viewers, it could be the training scenes at the beginning of this episode or the Maze or the dragons fighting sequence or something else, they are wall beautifully managed to have the right amount of time on screen and then move on.

Day/Night: yes we have this element in this adventure, so some scenes take place at night and some take place in the day, it keeps this episode nice and fresh.

Artistic visions: there are many in this episode but this battle sequence involving two dragons has real imagination to it, to see these two massive sized dragons using their abilities is just fantastic fun. I should just point out there are many artistic visions to this episode, I have just used or illustrated one element or one sequence.

Ending message: in a nutshell is this; there has to be another way to resolve a problem other than fighting or walking away from a fight doesn't make you a chicken.

This episode receives: 83% approval, this percentage of approval just about feels right taking everything into consideration, I did find a particular element to be annoying and not having Cringer/Battle Cat in this adventure was disappointing.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 59: The Witch and the Warrior by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 59: The Witch and the Warrior by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good, but I do have one big problem with this adventure.

Teela/Evil-Lyn: these two characters have to work together in this episode and the dialogue exchanges are interesting [as they now and again try to find some common ground within the conversation topics amongst other things as well.]

Action sequences/Comedy level: He-Man throws Kothos
[whilst he is wrapped up in ground or something that looks like concrete,] from this location all the way to Snake Mountain and then crash lands through a wall or ceiling,] he falls forward onto the remains of this concrete, says something and looks and sounds dizzy from his trip.

Artistic visions: there are some beautiful sequences involving outside and inside of Snake Mountain at the beginning stages of this episode, they are really eye-catching.

Ending message: it is something to the effect of this; try and make the best out of an unpleasant situation, try and work it out and put a smile on. Now this is where I have big problems with this episode [yes I am aware that this TV program is old,] but maybe putting a smile on isn't the best advice to give anyone, because this situation may be really uncomfortable and on top of that this individual may have issues that may need medical or counselling advice, so in a nutshell this ending message would have been fine if they just left out try and smile, because smiling may not be an option or it is just covering up a bigger issue underneath.

This episode receives: 72% approval, this episode generally speaking is good, how this episode goes from location to location keeping up to date with the different storyline elements [all happening at the same time,] I have to be honest and say this; when Teela and Evil-Lyn's storyline gets screen time, the storyline has a little bit more to it than anything else which is happening in this episode.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 58: The Once and Future Duke by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 58: The Once and Future Duke by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is average.

He-Man/Battle Cat: individually or together have some good action sequences, He-Man has this running around sequence which is interesting. Battle Cat has this jumping sequence, where he jumps up to go and rescue this character in mid-air which looks really good [whilst I am on the subject I see the riding sequences as these two characters working together.]

Cringer: this character in this episode just reminds us the audience how sweet or afraid of things he can be, when at the beginning of this adventure [a moth or butterfly] sits on his nose for a second or less, firstly he is frightened and then secondly he just hides underneath his two front paws.

Orko/Boy character: individually or together they are just so boring or irritating.

Artistic visions: the dangerous flower [I have forgotten its name, but you will not be able to miss it, it is near to the beginning of this episode.] This flower may look really colourful and pretty yes but also pretty dangerous as well [it looks like it is trying to eat a character from this episode.]

Ending message: in a nutshell it talks about swimming safety

This episode receives: 53% approval, now this percentage is based on the fact that Orko and this boy character are as I have already said individually or together are just so boring or irritating, but let me put it this way if we didn't have Orko in this episode and the boy character wasn't so annoying, this episode would have got comfortably placed somewhere in the 60% approval ratings, Because as I have roughly outlined in this review, there is enough here for at the very least this episode to be interesting to its viewers.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 57: Castle of Heroes by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 57: Castle of Heroes by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is excellent but it does have some downsides as well.

Cringer/Battle Cat: these two characters are not in this episode [yes I am aware that if you don't have Cringer, you are not going to see Battle Cat either.]

Skeletor: he has a friend or another ally in this episode, in some scenes they are casually having a drink whilst talking about the olden times and Skeletor's current situation as it relates to He-Man.

Action sequences: they are many and in one way or another they are all different [to test He-Man and his abilities,] for one example he has to put out this forest fire, so he releases this nearby water supply and does this double punch thing onto the ground or near to the water, so doing this the water jumps over him and onto this forest fire behind him, he even has time to put this water supply back just the way it was before he used it.

Ending message: to be honest this ending message isn't so clean cut, it briefly talks about history in books and that is it [maybe it is trying to say "Once in a while pick up a book" I don't know, but what I do know is this; it talks about history in books and in a nutshell, it is vague about its message.

This episode receives: 88% approval, there are many excellent elements to this episode like for an example Skeletor has been given this watching role [don't worry he does get involved at some stages,] but without telling you to much he is sitting on his throne talking to another character whilst watching this adventure unfold [this is a very interesting element to this episode.] But I am not happy with there being no Cringer or Battle Cat but instead we have Orko which is not cool.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 56: Quest for the Sword by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 56: Quest for the Sword by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is average to good-ish.

Cringer/Battle Cat: these two characters are back in this episode and individually it is good to have them on screen.

Action sequences/Comedy level: He-Man in this episode is trying to close up this massive parting in the ground with his sword and his very strong rope [so before throwing his sword he will attach this rope to one end,] when the sword lands on the other side of this parting, all He-Man has to do is pull on this rope with lots of power and eventually he will close this parting in the ground.

Ram Man is really funny in this episode, there is this sequence where he continuously jumps all over the place and eventually he crashes into He-Man.

Ending message: basically it says something to this effect; weapons don't make you a leader, you're personality may make you a leader.

This episode receives: 57% approval, how can I put this; I just don't like these gray rock like characters [I have forgotten what these characters are called,] but then again they are easy to see coming you cannot miss them and not forgetting Orko is in this episode. But everything else is good or okay or it works for this adventure.
