Review Time
Warning: there are colourful effects/flashing
effects/medical procedures
Storyline: it is good; the ending could
have done with some work though, we get this freeze-frame ending and we never
find out what happened next to anyone. The pacing is generally speaking it is
solid, obviously around the NASCAR racing components to this film it moves much
more quickly, but as a whole I would have to stick with the pacing is solid.
Art/Action/Comedy: the Art there are
some beautiful skies in this film, you will notice them when you see them,
because they are very eye-catching, moving on to the action; NASCAR
construction, racing , crashes and rescue; finally onto the comedy; because
there are only small elements of this; I will go with this; because
Trickle/Cruise and Burns/Rooker are very competitive NASCAR drivers anything
can turn into a race, be it on the NASCAR racing day or manual big wheels
wheelchairs or cars anything can turn into a race.
Characters/Performances: including the
on-screen chemistry this is all good; to be a little bit more specific now;
this project does have this component [between Trickle/Cruise, Burns/Rooker and
Dr. Lewicki/Kidman,] why athletes may find it difficult to retire either before
their time or try thinking of doing something else or doing something else be
it around NASCAR or outside the world of NASCAR; it is because they are mainly
focused on this one thing or they may feel like this is the only thing they are
good at which it becomes their whole life and consequently this is all they
know which isn't a good thing in the first place [Trickle/Cruise knows how to
drive; he is a natural and an extremely gifted individual; but that is it he
doesn't know the other components of NASCAR such as mechanics or anything like
this; as in short he tells Hogge/Duvall this.] Because of what I have learned
when the time is running out or the final bell is bonging louder and louder
some athletes don't know when to retire or part-time retire to transition maybe
still in their field so when full-time retirement comes around the transitional
phase is much smoother, but athletes are used to structure and without
structure they may struggle, there is always an mental and physical adrenaline
rush that these athletes get doing what they do and finally there is a
financial aspect as well. So yes to reach the top of your field you may have to
be really focused, but I am a plan B. or C. kind of person, so I would take a
slower journey to the top or have a shorter stay at the top or possibly
sacrifice reaching the top to have a better rounded life during and after and
there is always a possibility of an unforeseen injury which forces me to retire
much earlier than I wanted to; yes just in case you were wondering I am just a
very grounded person.
This film receives: 6/10, this film is
good; I mean I hadn't seen it before; I should just point out if you are a fan
of NASCAR you will probably get more out of it to be fair, but having said that
it is a pleasant film.
