Warning: there is transformation/domestic violence/man on woman violence/strangling/stabbing/shooting/animal cruelty/animal biting/suicide/medical

One brain, two people: briefly; Dr. Henry Jekyll/Mr. Edward Hyde [Paul Massie:] Dr. Jekyll is a scientist, but is working on removing elements of our personality traits would hopefully create higher functioning beings, but by doing so he creates Mr. Hyde and this is their story.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script, the framework and pacing of this 88 minute film is extremely hard work, because on all counts it feels like it is drifting along with not a lot happening coinciding with things clearly happening and then on top of that we have the framework and pacing which mirrors that approach; this was hardly fun to watch or even I would take good to watch.

Art and action; this set designs, costumes and the cultural dancing with and I do stress with the snake was good; I should clarify there is a moment where the snake is a moment where the snake is on the floor and she is dancing around the snake like women used to dance around their handbags in decades past which I have to say this was weird; yes there was some other dancing and let's just say the person I watch some of this contend with after some time just pressed the fast-forward button and other previous bits and pieces as well; which I can't blame them because after some time, it was just insufferably boring, we don't get much in the way of action; action but when we do it serves its purpose and it does the jobs at that those times in the movie; so they are solid.

Character developments and performances; okay the what I perceive to be the status quo for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; as I have seen quite a few incarnations throughout my life; this was an interesting take on these two characters and their dynamics; but like a referenced in the previous section at least we get one face-to-face conversation via a mirror, but other than that these character developments were solid and has the same can be said for these performances; as I said I it is felt like there wasn't really much happening, even though it came in fits and starts.

This film receives: 2/10, this film is poor; this was actually really difficult to watch; it never really grabbed me or I couldn't settle down with it and you should know by now I gave old films a little bit more credit with what they had to use at their disposal at that time making the film, but when there is a much to talk about, I can't really be held responsible for that and to be reasonable to myself/to you I am never made stuff up on things that were just not there.

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/shooting/impaling/animal cruelty/disfigurement/drugs/burning/decapitation/vehicle crash/strangling/choking/domestic violence/ritual and there will be a censored adult language reference in this content as well.

Married for roughly 95 minutes: briefly; Grace [Samara Weaving:] she has just got married into this family that has a strange tradition of playing a game; in this case "Hide & Seek" where she just has to survive and not be sacrificed until daylight, which in which case the penalty will fall on the family.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script is fine; it is a bit wafer thin, yes we get some exposition on the character developments, the framework is also fine; it fulfil the purpose, but with this script being basically a foundation level script in conjunction with this terrible pacing; where for the first 60 minutes we have fits and starts; that point where it becomes actually boring. Where I said to the person I want someone was content with; I can see why they have come out with a sequel based on the fact there isn't actually much happening on here.

Comedy, action and art; the comedy as you would expect with this kind of graphic horror is of the origins of dark or black comedy such as people getting graphically shot/misfire or decapitation and things of that nature, the art is how can I put this nicely?... Highly detailed.

Character developments and performances; on both counts they were good versions of what they were meant to be, the only character developments and simultaneous performance that stood out for me was Grace/Weaving: they have clearly gone with the idea/concept of something like Ellen Ripley/Sigourney Weaver from the Alien franchise of; okay I really didn't want to be in this position, but whilst I am here, I am going to quickly adapt and put foot to posterior and survive, I hope they develop this more in this sequel, but for here and now; Grace/Weaving go through this metamorphosis throughout this film; where she gets more and more confident/self-assured for an example using colourful adult language references with this vehicle assistance operator, I will tell you right now if they haven't developed this character in this sequel I will be absolutely fuming, because they could be onto something really excellent where they could build a trilogy around Grace/Weaving: I just hate seeing wasted potential of any kind on any level.

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; on one hand from me; this franchise could have some real potential and we could just be scratching the surface in this instalment, but on the other hand and I will have to censor this; but the person I watch some content with; thought this film was manure. This film also has some awards accredited to its name such as 4 Winners which includes but not limited to Fright Meter Awards 2019 Fright Meter Award Best Actress Samara Weaving, 24 Nominees which also include but not limited to from the same award ceremony/event Best Costume Design Avery Plewes; on a quick side note; in hindsight is richly deserved as they really did put the authentic presentation and touches into this project throughout.

The Curse of Frankenstein 1957 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/animal cruelty/shooting/disfigurement/transformation/choking/hanging/capital punishment/burning/dismemberment/references to incest and sexism

A young boy loses family and make something of some bodies: briefly; Baron Victor Frankenstein [Younger:Melvyn Hayes/Older: Peter Cushing:] at the time this young boy hires a teacher named  Paul Krempe [Robert Urquhart:] as time went past they began to focus more and more of their time on science; specifically body regeneration, further and further they went down the line: Krempe grew more and more uncomfortable, which he did voice his opinion, but Frankenstein didn't listen and eventually created the Creature [Christopher Lee:] unfortunately whilst trying to stop Frankenstein Krempe gave this creature some form or brain damage, so it doesn't exactly come out how it was meant to.

Generally speaking: the script is good; the framework from the outlay of storyteller [Frankenstein/Cushing] and come full circle, the background music; I mean I get it; it is there to create emotions at that specific time, but it didn't have to be ear piercing from time to time, it was bad and I do understand that the film industry was getting back then, but still it was bad and the pacing of this 83 minutes film is likewise good.

Art, action and comedy; I really do like the set designs, costumes and etc: as there is a lot of high detail on them, such as Frankenstein's laboratory and for this timeframe what you would expect to see in it such as for one example contraption/mechanics to bring his creation to life/the Creature [Lee,] for the action there isn't much for me to put here; there is now and again scuffles between Frankenstein and Krempe and likewise there is one moment of comedy, where in a rough description we have Frankenstein's best man for his wedding is practising the beginning of the best man speech and basically every time he begins again and again and so on he refills his glass as he is standing behind the punchbowl located in front of him on the table, until his significant other essentially pulls him away to go.

Character developments and performances; broadly the character developments and the performances of this cast are all good, but let's be honest it is predominately down to Hayes/Cushing, Urquhart and Lee: that take this character developments and performances, make them stand out, making them three dimensional much as they can as it relates to Lee: without this trio this film would have massively struggled; as this film needs a bit of push and shove with Cushing and Urquhart mostly verbally and for Lee you really does become this character with the movement and body language: so this trio of performances is excellent as they really are the driving force behind the title.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good, it really does depend if you are into firstly horror but then again old school horror as well, because you will appreciate this film, I would have given this project something a little bit higher, if it wasn't for the very high pitch background music, now I should point out this is based on the film and not the cinema's volume issue, because the person and I watch some of this content with went to go and see this film at the cinema and it was good fun, I could have done without wincing at the high pitch sound, as I have very good hearing in the first place, this was somewhat really uncomfortable. But providing you are a age-appropriate, it is worth a watch. This film also has some awards accredited to its name; 1 Winner Guinness World Record Award 1957 Guinness World Record Tallest actor in a leading role Christopher Lee and 1 Nominee International Film Music Critics Award (IFMCA) 2020 IFMCA Award Best Archival Release of an Existing Score - Re-Release or Re-Recording James Bernard (music by) James Fitzpatrick (album produced by) David Huckvale (liner notes by) Nic Finch (art direction by) Nic Raine (The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra/conducted by) Shared with: Horror of Dracula

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/transformation/bodily functions/burning/electrocution/dismemberment/electrocution/medical/reference to disfigurement

In Castle Grotteskew: briefly; in this location we meet Stitch Head [voice by: Asa Butterfield:] he is the first creation of the Professor [voiced by: Rob Brydon: which he is solely focused on making is next greatest creation, which leaves Head running and maintaining The Half Life section of this operation; basically this means what happens to the creations after they have been created, but eventually Head has the opportunity at what he thinks is a better choice/life.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 91 minutes film is good as everything settles down to business

Art, action and comedy; the artistic visions/computer animation are very distinctive as from the outset they put you/its audience right into this location with a very clear horror presentation and themes of the atmosphere for one thing being dark this castle and its monsters living here, we also have musical numbers such as; Ready for Monsters: these musical numbers are indeed a positive inclusion to this project as firstly they are likely and secondly it disc is another aspect for this project to offer. Now and again we have some wacky action and comedy such as when Creature [voiced by: Joel Fry:] the latest and newest creation and founding member; has just been created and from the perspective of Head he is just giving him this will rearrest welcoming speech as this creature is seemingly doing the stereotype of what monsters/creations do first when they are first born, which is crashing through so many walls, a little later we have this new creation during this to the literary he isn't to  old as he keeps telling the time off his watch which is located on one of his wrists or finely a little later he goes rolling down the hill: but everything this has to offer at minimum it is of a good nature.

Character developments and voice performances; on both counts they are all good and the cast have good chemistry.

This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; as it knows what it is; which is a very mildly horror based animated film project for all of the family, but on a valid side note I don't care how this came to be or whose fault it is; but it is really stupid to have this film go up against GOAT 2026 as they basically got released and essentially went head-to-head on their first weekend out and yes I know it is half term in the UK: but my point being is you are hitting the same demographic on the same weekend, which regardless is more than likely going to cost both of these projects individually when it is all said and done. I know from time to time you do get other films from completely different genres/age brackets coming out on the same weekend, which is absolutely fine because yes they can see both films or just one film, but it isn't hopefully going to harm one or either of these two projects hypothetically speaking of course, but as things that relate to this situation; this was just dumb, this film also has some extra still photographs and finally it does have some awards accredited to its name such as 1 Winner Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis 2025 Luxembourg Film Award Best Animated Co-Production (Beschte Animatiouns Co Produktioun) Toby Genkel Steve Hudson and 5 Nominees which include but not limited to Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA 2026 Saturn Award Best International Animated Film

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/transformation/biting/feeling/shooting/vehicle hit/bodily functions/vehicle crash/burning/impaling/decapitation/disfigurement/references to homosexuality, child abuse, racism, drugs and suicide.

To the Pub; The Winchester: briefly; we have these two best friends:  Shaun [one of the Writers of this film: Simon Pegg:] he works as a sales assistant and then we have Ed [Nick Frost:] he is currently unemployed and lives to play this fart joke on Shaun. But alongside some of the characters; they find themselves in this zombie apocalypse where Shaun has this bright idea to go to the pub, so that is where we are heading.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 99 minutes film is very similar to the pacing of this film; from the perspective of it does take time for this film to funny enough live another just after opening section to this film, but after that everything is at minimum good or moving between this and enthusiastic fun.

Art, action and comedy; the first thing I should say it is and I am aware is somewhat obvious, but things can be graphic; but with that being said it can be lots of fun with blood splatter, the highly detailed presentation of the zombies has to be given high praise indeed for their authentic approach and etc, these two friends; talk about with records of Shaun's throw at this zombie: while this zombie is approaching or much later they are in this pub and things are getting a little bit manic; with Shaun needing the assistance of this group of characters as he fires this type of shot gun with the others assisting with reloading or/and directions as they only have one shot gun and limited ammunition

Character developments and performances; they clearly have gone with the approach of even though we are in this situation, we can still have these real-life problems, which yes these characters are old enough and just about wise enough to put them to one side: to put them on the back burner, but for them to be bubbling away, so that when they come back into the forefront it feels and have their presentation to be natural: this level of natural chemistry has to go to the cast of performers as they have this free-flowing chemistry and camaraderie even though some of these characters may be going through something or they may not liking one another; they would all like to get through this situation.

This film receives: 9/10, this film is excellent; it does deserve to be seen once in a lifetime and I even had the great pleasure to go and watch this film at the cinema with the person I watch some of this content with; yes on both enjoyed it immensely and once again yes this film does have some awards accredited to its name such as; 14 Winners that include but not limited to British Independent Film Awards 2004 Simon Pegg Edgar Wright [as Rabid Monkeys Newsreader/other characters including voice work and is the other Writer/Director of this film] and 20 Nominees which also includes but not limited to; back to this event/ceremony Most Promising Newcomer Nick Frost

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/hunting/animal cruelty/invironmental/drugs/cutting/biting/drowning/shooting/dismemberment/disfigurement/strangling/choking/medical/reference to child abuse and I will be making reference to a fingered gesture in this content.

Stranded: briefly; after this private jet goes down; we only have two survivors; the newly appointed CEO of this finance and management company; Bradley Preston [Dylan O'Brien:] how can I put this nicely; he definitely comes across as nepotism baby and not a very nice individual, but he is injured and saved by Linda Liddle [Rachel McAdams:] she is in Planning & Strategy Department has worked for this company for 7 years, she is very intelligent and a hard worker, she was up for a very lucrative promotion until Preston denied it, but she is now the one that woke up first and now has the knowledge and know-how and more importantly the physical capabilities to make sure they survive.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script is very good up to a certain point, basically everything about this film up to a certain point was going to be highly rated by me [which I will vaguely talk about in the final section of this content,] but for here and now by and large the framework and pacing of this 115 minutes film is really good as it just keeps things going as there is always something happening or to discuss.

Art, action and comedy; the scenery/landscape of our location has been well chosen for their survival mission; now I should give you a extra warning be it the action or/and the dark comedy references both individually or together can be graphic; so hunting and vomiting into someone's mouth whilst trying to save their life is the standard that I am talking about here.

Character developments and performances; individually or together they are both excellent, minus the stereotype character developments in the opening section as they have real depth to them as they are flawed and people, mixed in with the smart implication of which one possibly hasn't had to work so hard to get where they are today, whilst the other has worked incredibly hard to get where they are today and their characteristics show through brightly. The performance of McAdams without a shadow of doubt has to be given high praise and I do hope she gets some positive at minimum nominees for this performance; as in a nutshell as Liddle; for a heavy amount of this film she comes into her own and turned into a powerhouse as she knows what needs to be done and get on with it, on top of that, we have this role reversal were Preston quickly learns his place; where O'Brien has to sometimes really sell what he is going through at that time and also does an excellent job; between this partnership there is excellent chemistry.

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; to be brutally honest without giving too much away the ending of this film is a hot steaming pile of garbage and consequently it just haemorrhaged any form of positivity it had built up before then, like I have just referenced without saying too much but enough to make my point it really does feel like the movie gives its audience the middle finger [at some point or another I will do it connecting piece of content and I will leave it at the bottom of this content when I have done it, so it will be your choice if you want to view it or not; but I digress] and there are some extra bits and pieces in the form of drawing in the ending credits.

Our story continues: briefly; Dr Ian Kelson [Ralph Fiennes:] he is a former GP Doctor for the NHS, but nowadays working on giving the dead somewhere to rest, staying alive and helping out his friend Samson [Chi Lewis-Parry:] he is a alpha male rage zombie, that between the both of them they build a friendship.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script is on first impressions based on the plot in the opening sections, I was wondering if we were going to spend too long with a selection of characters, but luckily we rotate between one and the other roughly speaking of course; so the framework and pacing of this 109 minutes film after this opening section or/and around here it needs time to find itself then it is good.

Art, action and comedy; throughout from time to time; on one hand there are some real graphic scenes such as a knife going in at the right spot, so essentially a character can urinate blood with velocity [which for those with a dark sense of humour this is hilarious] or/and some beautiful locational scenes such as at The Bone Temple: we have some close-up of the scale how much this rage zombie apocalypse has costed; as we see it as firstly ominous, intimidating, but also massively and somewhat strangely inspiring as it reminds us we are only here for a short time and underneath we are all the same [okay, in this case; deep, deep, deep down we are all the same,] but the point is still very valid nonetheless and of course we still have chasing sequences and more graphic action sequences, including this really captivating sequence of events involving without giving too much away but enough to give you a heads up; "The Number of the Beast" released in 1982 by Iron Maiden: and if this sequence of events doesn't receive at minimum positive nominees, I don't know what to tell you? I really don't, because it is really spectacular on multiple levels; artistic way, dancing from Fiennes, singing kind of, slightly comical because it truly is a spectacle that goes up and beyond anything you expect and when fire is used it can be seen as action.

Character developments, comedy and performances; as this is another instalment of this franchise; it does what you expect it to do, which is move things on in this case as it relates to the character developments, we do also get some beautifully timed comedy references from Dr. Kelson as in a nutshell and paraphrasing; he asks Sampson for payment of his services... and then reassures him not to worry as he is an NHS Doctor. The cast performances are on average, but it has to be said that Fiennes ' performance is of the highest order as he can fill up the scene or sequence with just his stage presence when he is on his own or at that time has no one that will converge with him in English and then on top of that he has simultaneously the skills/gift to elevate anyone that he is in the scene with regardless if they can respond in English or not at that time, so for an example Fiennes and Lewis-Parry have excellent chemistry on-screen, what with Lewis-Parry putting in as much effort as his character will allow at specific times in this movie/sequel, so this too is an excellent performance.

This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; yes within the opening section or more, I was getting the sinking feeling of this instalment of this franchise, but a mixture of the positives would I have already referenced in this content really righted the ship, and I really do hope that Fiennes at minimum gets some positive nominees for this performance, but as of this content being first created; it has 1 Nominee to its name Girls on Film Awards 2026 Girls on Film Award Best Composer Hildur Guðnadóttir Shared with: Hedda.

In the Amazon rainforest: briefly; we follow this crew as they are filming this National Geographic documentary; their director and cameraman are Terri Flores and Danny Rich [Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube:] she is hopeful that this will be her big break, will stand by her as they are good friends, so let's hope nothing will go wrong.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script is for a heavy amount of the time to begin with just mainly filler if we are being honest with one another, so the framework and pacing of this 89 minutes film is really quite difficult to stay awake to and yes I struggled to do this, which individually or together a character developments echo these issues, because they are just straightforward versions of their character types.

Action, art and comedy; when we get to see this snake or/and snakes; the action sequences are still good, if only a little bit cheesy on the visual aspects; visually likewise there are still good, but can tell the special effects are looking a bit weary, which I can overlook to a certain extent, but there are rare occasions that I can't overlook, because sometimes the movement of these makes look really cheap; as if someone had put some substance in the green sock or something like this and made a budget marionette for a moment or/and and regurgitating a chimpanzee or most definitely a creature from the monkey family. I know, I know, I usually overlook these things because they are usually done with some high level of effort and intent, but not as it relates to this film that is sure and finally we have moments of comedy; either the argument over the volume of mobile stereo, this snake swimming underwater with just feeding; where he now seems a little bit more rounder or/and another character being regurgitated and winking at Flores.

Character developments and performances; as I have already referenced they are very straightforward and likewise the vast majority of this cast and their performances reflect that, the only ones that put in a good performance are Lopez and/or Cuba. One of the worst character developments/performances I have; I am going with I have ever seen would have to be  Jon Voight as Paul Serone: our filming expedition come to the aid of this individual and it is convenient he has a wide knowledge of snakes. But be it character developments or/and performance; it is god-awful, this individual comes from Paraguay, so why does he have a very distinctive range of accents from the likes of New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands or/and even Germany, they should have never cast him in this role; just in case I haven't made it crystal clear how bad this performance is; this is one of those performances that anyone would look back on their career and possibly have nightmares about.

This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; I mean I have decided to award another mark to highlight that it had enough on reflection to avoid getting put in the poor section of my marking system and what we have the other positives like that one point or another big explosions and not forgetting the performances of Lopez and/or Cuba, it just seems fair and there is an ongoing sequence as the ending credits begin to roll. This film also has some awards accredited to its name, which won't be a surprise to know one not or of these awards are a positive; Positive: 6 Winners which include but not limited to ALMA Awards 1998 ALMA Award Outstanding Actress in a Feature Film Jennifer Lopez Shared with: Selena and All Def Movie Awards 2016 All Def Movie Awards Best Black Survivor in a Movie Ice Cube (as Danny Rich.) 11 Nominees which also include but not limited to Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA 1998 Saturn Award Best Horror Film and Best Actress Jennifer Lopez.  Whipstaff Manor: briefly; this Harvey family: Dr. James and his daughter  Kathleen "Kat" [Bill Pullman and Christina Ricci:] this father is basically a councillor for ghosts to assist them in crossing over, he has been given the job to assist these three ghosts to cross over, yet his daughter meets the fourth ghost that lives here: his name is Casper/other name [voiced by: Malachi Pearson/physical appearance: Devon Sawa:] he is a young ghost that is lonely, but friendly and is responsible for bringing this father and daughter here.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 101 minutes long is by and large good, but from time to time it is a bit patchy as in; it is one of those outlays that if you have been around as long as I have an older, you would understand that this is one of those types of films where as long as the comedy keeps on rolling or something motivated like action then this film can and will just motor on through, but as soon as this film doesn't have something to go through then, you tend to drift on without much in the way of gusto or direction.

Art, comedy and action; it is hard to believe that the computer animation; is still looking this vibrant still after 30 years, because this film is loosely well I say loosely, but nonetheless it is mildly a horror and because of that, even when on its 50th anniversary it could still look as good, because it has the horror theme to lean into as in not everything is not meant to look spot-on, so it has that defence as well. Now off the top of my head; I am pretty much sure that the outlay of the comedy is skit scene variety: where Casper could be cleaning up for the other three ghosts as it relates breakfast and Stretch [voiced by: Joe Nipote:] the leader/the brains of the trio, takes exception to this gives Casper a mouthful and then transforms this part of his being into a boot and kicks Casper

Character developments, performances and the voice performances; the character developments are all really well rounded versions of what they were going for in each specific case, the performances and the voice performances are likewise a really excellent representation of those character types; on a quick side note: I have to point out it was a stroke of genius without giving too much away, but to have in a film context to have a Ghostbuster to show up and legitimise your ghost characters; but I digress: which conversely brings such elements as the comedy, action and etc lively in to play when it is time to do so.

This film receives: 9/10, this film is excellent; minus the fact that from time to time this film goes through dry moments; where in the first one I was beginning to fall asleep, there is a real substance in the movie and providing your youngest member of your family is 13 years old, it can still be good fun to watch this project as a family, the person that I watch some of this content with such as this movie indicated it was good fun as well, as we over the past weekend went to see it at the cinema on its 30th anniversary; somewhere in the first closing credits there is an extra piece and finally there is some also has some awards accredited to its name such as 5 Winner that includes but not limited to; Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA 1996  Saturn Award Best Performance by a Younger Actor Christina Ricci and Young Artist Awards 1996 Young Artist Award Best Performance by a Young Actor - Voiceover Role Malachi Pearson, now unfortunately they were not all positive; The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards 1995 Stinker Award Worst Picture Colin Wilson

Warning: there is flashing effects/vehicle crash/vehicle hit/transformation/regeneration/impaling/squashing/running over/verbal domestic abuse/sexual harassment/choking/references to suicide, homosexuality, bodily functions and drugs

I will buy this car: briefly; Arnold "Arnie" Cunningham [Keith Gordon:] this nerdy individual decides to purchase is very rundown car a 1958 Plymouth Fury, restore it; her name is Christine, but strange things happen, but one good thing is that happens is, he gets with Leigh Cabot [Alexandra Paul:] she is the new, hot girl in school that is into studying.

Generally speaking: the framework is dates and sometimes places on screen, the pacing for this 110 minutes film is atrocious, it never really fills you full of confidence that this film for most parts is going to get up and going at best I can describe it as starts and stops; meaning when it gets going it doesn't last too long

Action and art; the biggest action sequence that this film has to offer has to be the petrol station sequence; in short Christine has chased down hard targets to this petrol station where she gets one target and leaves the petrol station whilst it is burning down, as she is on fire herself chasing down the other target; it is a very explosive sequence of events which has been excellently put together and shot as a sequence of events.

Character developments and performances; on both counts they are solidly good versions of what they are meant to be really and from beginning to end they get performed out as such.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; the only major problem as I have already referenced is the pacing, it is so slow that it actually makes this film feel so much longer than what it is; it doesn't do anything wrong and don't get me wrong I am happy I have now seen this film and on top of that on the big screen at the cinema, but man this film is so slow. This film also has some awards accredited to its name such as 1 Winner Video Software Dealers Association 1984 VSDA Award Most Popular Current Horror Movie and 3 Nominees which include but not limited to from the same award/but different event just a year later 1985 Most Popular Current Horror Movie

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/stabbing/shooting/torture/dislocating/breaking/vehicle crash/biking/slavery/reference to suicide

Watch out for the penguin: briefly; Paul Sheldon [James Caan:] he is a famous novelist, he has a successful series of books called "Misery" in fact he has just finished writing the ninth and final instalment in the series, but tragically he accidentally finds himself in a car accident, but luckily enough he gets rescued by the individual, by the name of Annie Wilkes [Kathy Bates:] she is a nurse that assists Sheldon to get back on his feet and just so happens to be his number one fan, which I am absolutely sure nothing will or can go wrong... But then again on the odd occasion I have been known to be wrong.

Generally speaking: the framework, pacing and storyline/script; I have to be honest I found the framework and pacing of this 107 minutes film incredibly slow; it does get better the more you watch of this film, but man to begin with it is so slow; it does so much better when it speeds up a bit, I must say even though it does somewhat speed up it isn't ever going to be the most quickest anyway as a straightforward film, because if you were to speed things up, you would also knockout the environmental aspect of this location; meaning we are trapped alongside Sheldon in this house for the vast majority of it, but later on in the film we do also have time moving montages to speed things up and these slot in perfectly with what they were going for in this project. I am not a fan of without giving too much away the closing stages of this project such as what happened next? And then they 18 months later thing.

Art and action; we have some excellent snowy scenery, which can be used as a great palate cleanser for all of the violence, but to begin with we have a car accident.

Character developments, comedy, performances and action; Wilkes is clearly a damaged human being, but sometime later for one moment Wilkes shows that she has possibly been through rejection, which may be years ago started her on this journey to be completely nuts and don't get me wrong is completely nuts [I am making reference to the scene where she just very much puts Sheldon's pills on his table and has a little discussion but very much wants to leave his room at this time,] Sheldon has been in an horrific car accident, by now it has very much dawned on him that Wilkes is unstable, so he has got to get out of here. We have two pairings, obviously Wilkes/Bates and Sheldon/Caan and now Richard Farnsworth as Sheriff Buster and his wife Frances Sternhagen as Deputy Virginia: they are on the case to find Sheldon, even though they may be getting up there in age, there is comfortably enough to indicate that they are still having intercourse as for one example even on the job Deputy Virginia is trying to engage the slow escalation of romantic intent, where her husband has to remind her at work you are not my wife, you are my Deputy or something to that effect and finally we even have the one of the Producers/Director of this project Rob Reiner as an uncredited a helicopter pilot alongside our Sheriff Buster. Bates' performance is masterclass in how to portray a character that it is unhinged; someone that means well, quiet and reserved, but when pushed can and will release Cerberus from within her and is quickly as he came, he can disappear or just to keep you on your toes she can do is simultaneous connection or both of calm, but also releasing great anger and furious wrath with a sledgehammer; Bates is Wilkes, Wilkes is Bates she makes this role her very own legendary and iconic. Meanwhile Caan as Sheldon is very much the anchor to this partnership as in survival, strategy and escape and trying not to irritate Wilkes long enough to achieve this; both of these performances individually or together are irreplaceable and then we have Sheriff Buster separately or together with his Deputy/wife doing their part which also has on reflection excellent chemistry as well.

This film receives: 9/10, this film is excellent; as I have previously stated in one way or another this film does have problems, but because of Bates or/and Caan, because without Bates this project would have an unfillable a void to fill, but their partnership is crucial and legendary to the success and legacy of this project, I also went to the cinema with the person I watch some of this content with, if you ever have the opportunity to see this film on a cinema screen it is very much worth going to see. This film unsurprisingly has some awards accredited to its name such as 7 Winners which include but not limited to Academy Awards, USA 1991 Oscar Best Actress in a Leading Role Kathy Bates and 10 Nominees which also include but not limited to Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA 1992 Saturn Award Best Actor James Caan

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/animal cruelty/bodily functions/child abuse/religion/transformation/domestic violence/sexual harassment/self harming/burning/chopping/stabbing/impaling/electrocution

I wouldn't annoy her: briefly; we meet Carrie White [Sissy Spacek:] she is a high school outcast, she comes from a very religious family, that doesn't have any friends, that gets invited to the high school dance by Tommy Ross [William Katt:] he is a popular kid, I could be wrong but I think he is possibly a quarterback for the school team, but he also has a girlfriend which is okay about this situation as she wants to give Carrie this opportunity; I believe that this boyfriend and girlfriend meant well and have no ill intentions, even though Ross declined the first time around; I'm sure nothing is set up or could go wrong?

Generally speaking: I found the storyline/script, framework and pacing of this 98 minute film to be slow, to the point where I can say okay we get it the vast majority no one likes her, but as it relates to the character developments; you could easily knock off 15 minutes and we would still get the point of eventually everyone has a breaking point, that is how hard people push her, the character developments are a bit redundant.

Art, character developments and action; the art is highly creatively as Carrie shows of her new gift as she turned the car upside down and it catches fire.

Character developments and performances; by and large they are all good, as they put in reliably good versions of high school characters in one capacity or another and their performances reflect that, but let's be completely honest the performances of Spacek and Piper Laurie as Margaret White: she is Carrie's heavily religious Christian, psychopathic mother; individually or together are strong performances as this sheltered and conditions young woman, by no fault of her own has to go through so much garbage and when she has the power to change things, which at first she uses it to protect herself and then later on she becomes the monster that they have all created vs. in short the monster nurtured and enforced this outlook and behaviour; it really is an excellent example of; if you install this mentality, behaviour and reinforce it with negativity, don't be too angry if the monster you have created knocks over a few buildings and eventually turned on you and anyone else, so based on this I will award this film an extra mark.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; I mean I went to go and see this film with the person I want some of this content with at the cinema, which you should go and see this film at the cinema when you have an opportunity, but as I made reference to the beginning or somewhere near there, it does have some negatives to it, as in for the vast majority of this film is just a case of pushing Carrie until she breaks and then by comparison not too long with the payoff. This film does have some awards accredited to its name such as 6 Winners which include but not limited to Avoriaz Fantastic Film Festival 1977 Grand Prize Brian De Palma and pecial Mention Sissy Spacek For the acting. 9 Nominees which also include not limited to Academy Awards, USA 1977 Oscar Best Actress in a Leading Role Sissy Spacek and Best Actress in a Supporting Role Piper Laurie

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/biting/transformation/burning/kamikaze/stabbing/sexual harassment/torture/child abuse/medical reference to sexual assault

The Bell of revenge rings loud for Bella: briefly; Bella Swan and Edward Cullen [Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson:] this human and vampire are still discussing putting a stopper in Bella's sand timer, as Jacob Black [Taylor Lautner:] as he is of the werewolf community now sworn to kill vampires including the Cullen clan if they break the treaty by feeding on the people of Forks. But like it or not Edward and Jacob will have to work together to keep Bella safe the woman that they both love whilst both species work together to deal with this threat; trained by Jasper Hale [Jackson Rathbone:] he is still a relatively new vampire, he is a part of the Cullen family/clan, he has knowledge and experience of what is coming, he also has a vampire girlfriend in Alice Cullen [Ashley Greene:] she can see visions of the future, but they are subjective, she has always known that Bella and her would be best friends.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script of this 123 minutes is good; as it is straightforward as it knows what it wants to do and get on with it, but we have a problem with the art and consequently character developments; what the hell is going wrong with Edward? We see this couple in essentially sunlight and there are absolutely no signs of him sparkling or something to that effect or anything that effect to be honest with you and if that wasn't bad enough what the hell is going on with his ageing process; as a vampire Edward/Pattinson is not meant to be ageing; but it is so obvious he has aged; where on some occasions and you can clearly see his natural skin tone, on other occasions they have lately tried to slow it down whilst on other occasions they clearly haven't bothered, but with every other vampire they have put in the effort and time to at minimum look as if they have put the effort in to slow it down, but with Edward/Pattinson; it is like that will do, but it is completely unacceptable based on the fact he is one of your main characters/performers; this is just beyond woeful.

Art, character developments, action and comedy; the landscapes, expositions on the character developments are individually or together of a very high quality indeed and let's be honest it gives you/us a nice break away from other components which are not so good. The action is another consistent positive of a high standard when it gets going into roughly around the final quarter, including but not limited to Bella at some point punching Jacob in the face, but breaks hand in the process; Emmett Cullen [Kellan Lutz:] he is the strongest vampire from Cullen family, that sees Bella as another sister, but his girlfriend doesn't; her name is Rosalie Hale [Nikki Reed:] she is a vampire taking in by the Cullen family/clan, that has always been cold towards Bella.

Character developments and performances; well let's be completely honest including what I have referenced earlier, but focusing on our main trio of Bella/Stewart, Edward/Pattinson and Jacob/Lautner: they chemistry be it character developments or/and performances are at best broadly speaking are jarring; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it is just annoying; there seems to be very little in the way of consistent mature growth; I mean don't get me wrong there are glimpses very tiny glimpses of growth, but then there was some form of something to squash it or derail it and no I'm not including the moment of comedy between Edward and Jacob: I would consider that to be mature growth between them as in that is; as best as it is going to get between them to considering they are on opposite sides of the divide and they are both in love with the same woman.

That is why I was so grateful for any form of other character developments to get away from this trio or in different pairing for a while; so the surrounding characters need to be given high praise for being able to distract and carry the focus for awhile and just for the record they don't deserve the negative awards accredited to this film; for an example Jasper/Rathbone should have a thick accent being from the US Civil War so I'm not too sure if at all Rathbone did wrong.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; the surrounding characters and their exposition on a character developments, is a big asset to this instalment as it flushes things about as it relates to those characters/performers and it does take some focus away from this love triangle which as I have already alluded to as somewhat become annoying, but the person that I would some of this content with an I still had a good time at the cinema watching this film. This film does have some awards accredited to its name; 23 Winners which include but not limited to; Positive MTV Movie + TV Awards 2011 MTV Movie Award Best Movie and MTV Movie Award Best Kiss Kristen Stewart Robert Pattinson. 35 Nominees which include but not limited to as well; Positive back to this event/ceremony Best Kiss Kristen Stewart Taylor Lautner and Grammy Awards 2011 Grammy Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media Alexandra Patsavas.
