Pay-Per-View Rewind of: WWF/WWE WrestleMania 2000 [16] 02/04/2000 Match 9/Part 9/Conclusion by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Warning: there are flashing/colourful effects in one way or another

Match/Stipulations:  Mick Foley [with Linda McMahon] vs. The Big Show [with Shane McMahon] vs. The Rock [with Vince McMahon] vs. the WWF Champion D-Generation X's [Triple H with the WWF Women's Champion Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, real-life husband-and-wife:] Mick Foley’s Last Match, Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match, No Disqualifications, Elimination or Win by Pin-fall Only for the WWF Championship.

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 10/10

Match Storyline: 10/10

Crowd Participation: 10/10

On Commentary: Jerry Lawler & JR Jim Ross 10/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 10/10

Recommend Watch: 10/10

Match Total: 60/60 - this match is top-notch entertainment

Comments: this match delivers on not only being a WrestleMania Pay-Per-View Main Event match, but also delivers on the kind of things you expect from these characters/performers involved as well. Now about Foley's last match, this is not true his final match involvement was as far as I can tell John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio - Miracle on 34th Street Fight [RAW Monday 24/12/2012 as Santa Claus.] Moving on unfortunately Foley does have a botch moment, it is one of those botch moments where it is a complete train wreck and unfortunately comical as well. Where in short he is going up on the second rope on the outside of the ring facing the Spanish commentary table to land a elbow drop on The Rock through the table. But where Saturn slightly over shot his earlier in the night on Hotty; poor Foley completely cuts it short here, so much so he just makes it to the near side of the Spanish commentary team's table and crash and burns. Triple H thinking on his feet, quickly goes to plan B. but that is enough I don't want to give too much away.

Basic Result: the WWF Champion D-Generation X's [Triple H with the WWF Women's Champion Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley:] Retains his WWF Championship here.

This Pay-Per-View receives: 7/10, this Pay-Per-View is good; I hasten to add this mark is down to not one but two matches on this Card receiving full marks, the rest is poor, mixed or good and just to finish off they did a recap of this Pay-Per-View, including a little bit more of The Godfather & D'Lo Brown [with Ice-T & The Ladies] entrance, a glimpse more; so I spent a very tiny amount of time looking for it in its entirety, but I was unsuccessful. So I hope what they edited out was really worth it that is all I can say really.

The highest ranking matches on this Card based on are: Edge & Christian [kayfabe brothers] vs. The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy real-life brothers] vs. the WWF Tag Team Champions The Dudley Boyz [Bubba Ray & D-Von kayfabe half brothers:] Triangle Ladder Match for the WWF Tag Team Championships with 60/60

And

Mick Foley [with Linda McMahon] vs.

The lowest ranking match on this Card based on Attributes is:  Terri Runnels [with The Fabulous Moolah] vs. The Kat [with Mae Young:] Catfight with Val Venis as Special Guest Referee with 19/60.

Match/Stipulation: D-Generation X's [Road Dogg & X-Pac with Tori] vs. Rikishi & Kane [with Paul Bearer:] Tag Team Match

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 7/10

Match Storyline: 7/10

Crowd Participation: 10/10

On Commentary: Jerry Lawler & JR Jim Ross 7/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 7/10

Recommend Watch: 7/10

Match Total: 45/60 - this match is good

Comments: this match does what it is designed to do on a grand scale; meaning it gets the Crowd warmed up, engaged and ready for the upcoming Main Event of this Pay-Per-View. Yes the winning team members get in what they are known for doing individually either as a celebration with others or a running joke at this Pay-Per-View at this point in history. I know this is meant to be the Spoiler Alarm Version, but I still don't like giving too much away or directly too much away.

Basic Result: Rikishi & Kane [with Paul Bearer] pick up the W. back in the day they should have really put this trio together and put the WWF Tag Team Championships on them eventually, this just feels like a missed opportunity. I mean they could have been given the name of "Fun & Fury."

Match/Stipulations: Y2J Chris Jericho vs. The Radicalz [Chris Benoit] vs. a Olympic gold-medal winner, Intercontinental Champion & European Champion Kurt Angle: Two-fall Triple Threat Match for the WWF Intercontinental & the WWF European Championships

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 8/10

Match Storyline: 7/10

Crowd Participation: 8/10

On Commentary: Jerry Lawler & JR Jim Ross 7/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 7/10

Recommend Watch: 7/10

Match Total: 44/60 - this match is good

Comments: let's talk about the elephant in the room straightaway, now as it relates to Benoit, we are talking about wrestling here and nothing else, I was just covering my back here with these Attributes marks, but if you don't want or feel comfortable watching anything to do with this individual or other individuals like this that is also absolutely 100% understandable, anyway you want to deal with this individual or any other individuals like this; it is up to your discretion. But moving on, as I have already said this match is good.

The Referee [Tim White] is having a terrible day/night at the office with just about a correct decision in this match where Y2J's foot is at one point very close to underneath the bottom rope but White still counts it. Y2J unknowingly [because he is concentrating on the match,] but still does White a favour by removing all doubt by pulling his foot away, let's just say it is a good thing that Y2J is the height he is here, because if he was any taller his foot would have been underneath the bottom rope. Even Ross "I'm not so sure Jericho was on the bottom rope anyway."

Moving on this one is crystal clear a colossal mistake Benoit performs this German Suplex pin; firstly Angle doesn't go over here correctly in this move so I don't know if it is Benoit or Angle or both to blame here, I will say both. But everyone can clearly see Angle's shoulder is absolutely nowhere near [and this is no exaggeration,] White is right next to and looking at this situation yet still counts the pin, everyone the viewers at home and the audience in attendance has a clear shot [depending if they are looking at the ring or the big screen whatever they are called] in fact you have Ross and Lawler via commentary Ross "Angle's shoulders up ref."Lawler "His shoulders are not down." [A second later there was a little bit spoken but I am fast-forward this a little.] Ross "Tim White the official involved in the controversial conclusion of the Hardcore Battle Royal tonight."

Speculation; it is very unlike the WWF/WWE to own up to controversy or mistakes so this does come across as either Ross burying White a little or backstage via Ross through his headset a little live at one point at the biggest Pay-Per-View of the year WrestleMania.

Basic Results:  your New Intercontinental Champion The Radicalz [Chris Benoit] and then your New European Champion Y2J Jericho

Match/Stipulations: Chyna & Too Cool [Grand Master Sexay & Scotty 2 Hotty] vs. The Radicalz [Perry Saturn, Eddie Guerrero & the WWF Cruiserweight Champion Dean Malenko: Six-Person Tag Team Intergender Match

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 8/10

Match Storyline: 7/10

Crowd Participation: 9/10

On Commentary: Jerry Lawler & JR Jim Ross 7/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 7/10

Recommend Watch: 7/10

Match Total: 45/60 - this match is good

Comments: this needs to be the minimum as in a word good or higher, from now until the end of this Pay-Per-View because this is only the third positive match on this Card considering we are on the sixth match it is not good enough for this legendary and holy grail in professional wrestling; WrestleMania, there is a moment where Saturn slightly yet noticeably over shoots this elbow drop from the top turnbuckle; it's like he gets great height on it and then a moment later you think "Hold on he has over shot his target of Hotty here."Don't get me wrong he still hits it, but to back up my opinion I also have Ross on commentary making reference to it as well. "Saturn up, high-risk. Oh, looking for the -- for the elbow and got it. I don't know how much he got of it, but he got enough of it to keep Scotty 2 Hotty down." So if or when you come to watch this match keep an eye out for it and get back to me with your opinion; there is no wrong opinion here, it would be just interesting to hear yours.

Basic Result: Chyna & Too Cool [Grand Master Sexay & Scotty 2 Hotty] pick up the W.

Match Total: 60/60 - this match is top-notch entertainment

Comments: now this match feels and looks like a match that deserves to be on the biggest stage of them all in professional wrestling; WrestleMania now at least all six participants look as if they caught or performed their movements or set ups cleanly, I have just remembered where Jeff Hardy runs on and around the barricade and takes a ladder in the face from Bubba Ray Dudley which based on the sounds and the look of it; it was a proper whack [nothing against this little sequence,] but I know if I don't point it out someone else will come back to me at some point in the future and point it out to me.

Wrestling is a simulated combat sport so it is going to hurt regardless, but at least if it goes according to plan or how it should do they are at least trying to control the percentages of major damage and this match is a good example of what I'm saying.

Basic Result: your New Tag Champions are Edge & Christian [kayfabe brothers]

Pay-Per-View Rewind of: WWF/WWE WrestleMania 2000 [16] 02/04/2000 Match 3/Part 3 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Match/Stipulation: Al Snow & Steve Blackman [with Head with Chester McCheeserton in their corner; because in storyline at this point Snow wanted their tag team to be called Head Cheese; but they come out as I have put in this paragraph here] vs. T & A [Test & Albert with Trish Stratus:] Tag Team Match

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 3/10

Match Storyline: 2/10

Crowd Participation: 4/10

On Commentary: Jerry Lawler & JR Jim Ross 4/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 2/10

Recommend Watch: 6/10

Match Total: 21/60 - this match is poor

Comments: the more I think about this match the more I don't like it and no way is it worthy of being on any Pay-Per-View in this point in history [okay in present times it may be okay for those glorified house shows in the Middle East,] the only reason I chose 6/10 on the Recommend Watch is because you may just want to watch it to see how bad it is.

Now Ross is having genuine technical issues with his headset so on one hand I am not going to be too critical of that, but on the other hand it can be seen as a cherry on top of this diarrhea cake of a match. So either before or after this has been fixed we have Lawler coming out with his usual sexual comments as it relates to Stratus including Lawler saying this line at some point "Chester the molester" as this new mascot is showing interest in Stratus and being attempting to grab her.

Ross acknowledges at one point or another that this match isn't that good for one example; "these two styles are certainly conflicting here. This match has those bowling shoe tendencies, just somewhat ugly."[With Lawler having a small laugh at one point at what Ross has just said,] but Ross at any point of negativity about this match he isn't wrong, that is for sure and why is Lawler's joke/description of McCheeserton; the one I have said already earlier still in here, when it is clear something earlier in the night of The first match [Godfather & Co. entrance] something has been edited out so shouldn't this joke be removed as well; as well as the stalking element from the first match as well. I am not a snowflake I am open-minded and experienced in life, but I do question where some things are okay whilst other things are not okay where is the line here of what is acceptable and what isn’t?; that kind of thing.

Basic Result: T & A [Test & Albert with Trish Stratus] go over here

Warning: there are flashing effects in the first participant's entrance [Tazz]

Match/Stipulations: Tazz vs. Viscera vs. The Mean Street Posse [Pete Gass, Rodney & Joey Abs] vs. Hardcore Holly vs. Kai En Tai [Taka Michinoku & Shoichi Funaki] vs. The Headbangers [Mosh & Thrasher] vs. The Acolytes [Farooq & Bradshaw] vs. The WWF Hardcore Champion Crash Holly: Hardcore Battle Royal for the WWF Hardcore Championship; we have 13 participants all going for this Championship and whomever is the WWF Hardcore Champion when 15 minutes have expired is your New WWF Hardcore Champion, so there is plenty of opportunities for this Championship to change hands in this time frame.

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 7/10

Match Storyline: 7/10

Crowd Participation: 8/10

On Commentary: Jerry  Lawler & JR Jim Ross 7/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 7/10

Recommend Watch: 7/10

Match Total: 43/60 - this match is good

Comments: as I have already said this match is good as you would come to expect in these kinds of matches there is carnage and blood, unlike the current 24/7 Championship the WWF Hardcore Championship had credibility and respect, basically the 24/7 Championship is just the censored and  tame version of the WWF Hardcore Championship; it's like watching Challenge of the GoBots 1984-1985  when you should be watching The Transformers 1984-1987 [before I receive a backlash about my comparison the Go-Bots were good, but The Transformers were/are supremely galaxies upon galaxies better; yes I’m aware of the health and safety aspect as well, but still the WWF Hardcore Championship is still much better.

Now at the very final stages of this match the Commentary Team were being vocal about Crash Holly; Lawler saying "He kicked-out!" Which there is very little evidence to suggest this; I mean you could say he may have wanted to do this by his ever so slight leg movements, but we are talking about a pinch of salt of movement hear and Ross saying "He got the shoulder up!"And likewise there is a pinch of salt of movement; but this is where things go either very well or not at all according to plan, where we have Crush being exhausted to the point where he either doesn't kick-out convincingly or get his shoulder up likewise convincingly consequently the Referee [Tim White] has to quickly work with as if Crush kicks out [or there is enough here to suggest that White may have slowed or stopped his three count which it is common knowledge by today standard that Mr. McMahon hates this. Because he sees it as the Referees are there to call it; it is down to the characters/performers to kick-out,] but I digress with White's body language to indicate and the word out, but with a split-second look on his face that says "We may be in trouble here" with the Referees reversing their decision and still going with this result, which I am speculating here they go on-the-fly backstage before the next match just to show an action replay and building it into a narrative of there wasn't a three count.

Basic Result: Hardcore Holly is your New WWF Hardcore Champion?

Pay-Per-View Rewind of: WWF/WWE WrestleMania 2000 [16] 02/04/2000 Match 1/Part 1 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Chosen by: You; I put this on Twitter; Which point should my next Pay-Per-View be from? With 66.7% saying 2000-2010, so we find ourselves here.

Match/Stipulation: The Godfather & D'Lo Brown [with Ice-T & The Ladies] vs. Big Boss Man & Bull Buchanan: Tag Team Match

Match Attributes:

Match Quality: 6/10

Match Storyline: 5/10

Crowd Participation: 9/10

On Commentary: Jerry Lawler &JR Jim Ross 5/10

Satisfying Conclusion: 4/10

Recommend Watch: 4/10

Match Total: 33/60 - this match is mixed

Comments: now as you can clearly see the Crowd Participation really did help out this match slot/match, instead of getting angry with Lawler's sexual commentary I am just going to focus more on; the On Commentary category instead and take it off there. I was taking it off anyway before this but I'm going to do less complaining about this unless it is something I should point out or something like that, basically it is up to my discretion; yes I don't care if he is being told to say these things from backstage through his headset or not; I am aware the Crowd said some sexual things, but they were participating with The Godfather and I think it happened once through this match with chants of "We want puppies!" Let's just say I would take the Crowd Participation over Lawler's commentary any day of the week and the only reason they didn't get 10/10 is because they go quiet at points through this match, I am not going to use these Ladies character name.

I am 100% certain something has been edited out of the entrance of The Godfather & D'Lo Brown [with Ice-T & The Ladies;] JR Jim Ross and Lawler welcoming us to WrestleMania then we get this editing glitch and then The Godfather is doing his back-and-forth with the Crowd with D'Lo Brown and the rest of this entourage standing in the ring as well.

To this I say "They may as well have kept whatever was here in, because they made it; they may as well stand by it, but then again this is the WWF/WWE am talking about here they like to edit or forget their history and they expect us to do the same.

Basic Result: Big Boss Man & Bull Buchanan go over here; which is completely the wrong outcome, just based on the grounds of this is the First Match on the Card and you just want to kick off this WrestleMania in a positive manner with this party gimmick [I know it is an adult party gimmick; work with me here I am trying to put this as cleanly as I can,] but you want to at the very least start their biggest Pay-Per-View of the year in as I have already said in this positive manner, instead of this really stupid and domestic violence connotations of Big Boss Man & Bull Buchanan stalking these Ladies as they are running away from them; so why wasn't this edited out as well? I am not hypersensitive or in today's language "a snowflake", I'm just saying if one element had to go I am sure this element had to go as well I am just speaking from the perspective of fairness and balance. This is what happens when the WWF/WWE begins to change or edit their history, because you'll have people like me saying "Okay on one hand you want us to forget or you want to move away from this. But on the other hand they are doing something questionable over there which contradicts the image they are trying to project." Lawler & Ross are putting it over as stalking as well Ross says the word "stalking" I was just pointing this out to reinforce I am not making a little thing into a bigger thing; it is what it is.
