Recommendation of: NXT Vengeance Day 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Recommendation of: NXT Vengeance Day 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Warning/Disclaimers: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/burning/blood/adult language/medical. Disclaimer as of this content being created I know at least some of the results, no excuses but this fact I had to put up some content and it was in my and as always I have never been or are likely to be a professional wrestler and on top of that I am not a medical professional and apologies for getting slightly graphic later on.

The Wolfdogs: Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams: Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals; the winners receive a future NXT Tag Team Championship Match: we have Wade Barrett on commentary tonight with Vic Joseph; I just have to apologise Barrett tries to talk like he is down with the kids; it is very cringey. Williams tries to perform a running swinging neck breaker but doesn't catch it, but Corbin sells for Williams to make it look like he caught it; even Joseph didn't pick up on it [you are basically; looking for Williams to do a running uppercut, this is what was meant to be the running neck breaker.] I don't know what it is about neck breakers in this match slot, but Corbin goes for one on Hayes; Corbin's version is the variety of he has his opponent on his shoulders and then offloads them simultaneously putting out a knee to perform the neck breaker; this one is sloppy as Corbin doesn't look comfortable in the transaction phase of this move as he barely gets his knee out to land Hayes on. There is a very scary looking run off the ropes by Breakker where his neck momentarily gets caught up in the ropes, he looks absolutely fine and just carries on with the match, but it does look really scary; to the point where Joseph makes it blooper by getting mixed up between Corbin and Breakker, but he does correct himself; this incident gets spoke about on commentar, momentarily later this incident gets bored of again. Breakker goes for this like a reverse windmill cutter [earlier in the match we see how this move should go,] but this time as Joseph points out basically it gets counted by Hayes but it is still a nasty fall. On my viewing experience; it's more like Breakker or/both of them miss in connection and both feel the consequences. Williams on a kip-up jars his knee, with the referee asking if he was okay? With it getting mentioned on commentary as well, I do understand that this also may be kayfabe coming into play for later on. Hayes performers a version of the lion salt, newest the commentary table but he slips a little and Corbin takes Hayes legs across his body with likewise it getting referenced on commentary as well, the commentary team talk about the ropes; I am paraphrasing here; they are having trouble with the ropes, we will get someone to look at at them. We get this is awesome chants which I would like to say; I beg to differ. Corbin and Breakker both leave their feet at some points in this match; these are positive moments. Williams tries a different variety of neck breaker, yet again it looks sloppy. This match/match slot receives: 5/10.

Dijak vs. Joe Gacy; No Disqualification Match: Joseph indicates nice you got your thing in when Barrett gets in; Bad News. Gacy uses a dustbin as a batering ram over his head and body; good little spot here. There is some good fun with some duct tape and with some well timed audience participation. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.

OTM: Lucien Price, Bronco Nima & Jaida Parker [with Scrypts] vs. the NXT Tag Team Champions The Family: Tony D'Angelo, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo & Adriana Rizzo: Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match: this was exactly what you expect it to be, with hard-hitting action and towards the later stages Rizzo coming off the top turnbuckle to the outside [the bottom left the entrance] to take out wrestlers below. At some point we get another this is awesome chant, this time I agree with the sentiment, there is passion and as I have a hard-hitting affair. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.

Roxanne Perez vs. Champ Lyra Valkyria; Singles Match for the NXT Women's Championship: for some strange reason we get a small rally clap from the audience, there is a rally of pin falls that don't look the smoothest of transitions, we get a chant of this is wrestling, even though this crowd are in fairness and balance probably a little bit burnt out at this point; then we get a rally clap which gets referenced on commentary. Perez misses the connection of a running scissors takedown so in the same sequence between both wrestlers with a set up to go for it again and it goes how it should have been. Perez lands her finisher pop rocks; but it also has to be said that the transaction of this move didn't exactly go smoothly either at this time; I mean she overshot on a kip-up. Valkyria; is ready for the main roster, yes I may not watch this roster, but I remember her from NXT UK and she has grown as a performer; it is the little things basically giving the illusion that everything is going according to plan, even though in this case it may just be going slightly wayward or at best she will do our best to avoid it or cover it up as best as she can [I should cover my back with yes I know as of this content being first created Perez is only 22 years old whilst. Valkyria is 27 years old so Perez have time to develop more and for those pernickety people out there in Internet land I have done in momentarily peace of research there are roughly 3 years of wrestling experience between these two;Valkyria's debut was roughly slightly before halfway into 2015, whilst Perez was 2018.] The audience grew into this match as well, especially at a turning point and because of this turning point it will reflect in my marking of this match/match slot including later on in this event: this match/match slot receives: 8/10.

Dragon Lee vs. Champ Oba Femi; Singles Match for the NXT North American Championship: Femi probably lands on a monitor, it gets referenced on commentary, he is absolutely fine as he continues the match, I can't guarantee he lands on it, but the monitor is within the possibility. This is one of those match outlays that both competitors that after everything is said and done looks better for having this match and my final point here is; just like that the WWE machine has found a replacement for Keith Lee. This match/match slot receives: 8/10.

Trick Williams vs. Champ Ilja Dragunov; Singles Match for the NXT Championship: Williams lands a dropkick perfectly; when I say perfectly, I mean perfectly if Dragunov wants at minimum a bloody nose as his nose starts bleeding after this impact [yes I had to watch it again on replay to see the point of contact and I have put it down as this dropkick.] But if you if you have ever watched one of Dragunov; bleeding is quite a common practice; NXT/WWE has Dragunov, whilst AEW has Jon Moxley; they both believe in the hard style of professional wrestling. They even replay the incident and Joseph praising Williams for basically the expression if you don't succeed; try, try again; you see this wasn't his first attempt of hitting a dropkick. But hey at least the commentary team tried to put over as a point of the match of Dragunov hits Williams' nose apparently with this variety of clotheline, they really do try to sell this idea as we watch a replay of what has just taken place. Barrett makes reference to the fact that in a nutshell Dragunov may have a busted nose, which I would have to agree with him. Because as someone that has had a damaged nose before, you don't get this style of blood unless you either heavily rupture or break something. Barrett makes reference to how/where you should be hitting clotheslines, but Dragunov seems to be going for the face, as into the feed into the idea from where the commentary team were making lemonade out of lemons Dragunov's bloody nose and then a little later Joseph reinforces the notion as well. Williams performs this ura nage off the apron nearest the entrance, a little later I should point out that Williams finally hit a neck breaker right [it just seemed right that I should point it out.] This was definitely Williams's coming out party and as I said earlier as I have experience with nose issues, based on my limited knowledge and looking at Dragunov's face his nose is either fractured or if I had to put money on it; I would say broken, as it looks really swollen and the big giveaway is his nose is noticeably gone to the left; so here is to a speedy recovery and as always it is how you leave them; which I wish the main brand would take their own advice. This match/match slot receives: 10/10.

The average mark of this pay-per-view is: 9/10, it may start with a rocky beginning but as you can see it slowly get better and better. To leave this content on a pipe bomb [in a wrestling sense;] based on my opinion/viewing experience and I know I have done this comparison before, but I always find it amazing that without being disrespectful I find it amusing that the WWE creative product system NXT outshines the main roster and in this case this is no exception WWE Royal Rumble 2024 Link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2024/02/recommendation-of-wwe-royal-rumble-2024.html is no exception

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/animal cruelty/animal feeding/animal biting/drugs/decapitation/bodily functions/stabbing/medical

SeaWorld Orlando: basically; Michael "Mike" Brody [Dennis Quaid:] is the designer and engineer of this aquarium/waterpark/Undersea Kingdom, he is waiting for his brother Sean Brody [John Putch:] as he is having some time off from college or the US equivalent. Michael is waiting with his girlfriend Dr. Kathryn "Kay" Morgan [Bess Armstrong:] she also works here, but as a marine biologist. There is only one thing more for me to add yes these two men are the children of Martin and Ellen Brody [Roy Scheider and Lorraine Gary;] so they have experience with great white sharks, which has left Sean afraid to go in the water.

Generally speaking: well... well how can I put this; this sequel is garbage, the only things I can give this film as it relates to any form of praise, would be the premise is actually a good idea, but poorly executed [on a quick side note; if you want a similar outlay; to cover my back it is very different but you'll get the idea is; Deep Blue Sea 1999 Link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2019/02/deep-blue-sea-1999-by-averagemansreviews.html .] The framework and pacing of this 98 minutes film is also a solid, but pedestrian and the character building of the greats white shark; as it relates to the legendary and implements music by John Williams; "Jaws – Main Title, It is nowhere to be heard, which is just garbage, because this shark has minus its physical presence, it has no personality, I know once again the argument could be, they were going for surprise attacks and so on and so forth, but let's just say as it relates to this instalment of this franchise, it could have done with as much help as possible; so what I am suggesting here is maybe sometimes they should have used this infamous music to appease the audience/viewers. I will bring up the character developments and performances later on.

Art/Action; now if you have been following me long enough you would know especially as it relates to old films I give them some level of phrase for working with what they had at that time in history. But this looks to be a very rare exception to that; the 3-D effects are just ugly, let me put it this way; if you want to get any Intel out of anyone? Just use this instalment as a torture device and within minutes they will be wanting to tell you everything you want to know. But there are some positive vision such as this giant white shark coming up to this see-through material/on the other side is a restaurant and we see her face and then we switch it from that to her prospective and I am going to give you a nice heads up at some point we watch her graphically devour her prey from different perspectives

Character developments and performances; on both counts they are adequate for the character types they have gone with here and the performances are both meh; they are what they are, you know there isn't much to work with.

This film receives: 1/10, this film is poor; I really just didn't like it and the sentiment can be shared with the person I watch some of this content with. This film has some awards accredited to its name, but however they are not positive; in fact they all come from Razzie Awards 1984; there are 5 of them and here are just 2 examples; Razzie Awards Worst Director Joe Alves and Worst Screenplay Richard Matheson Carl Gottlieb Guerdon Trueblood (story)

CDI [Chicks Dig It;] it is a good thing that it got given a different name: Mason Pettits [John Cena:] is an lawyer, turned ex-Army Special Forces, discharged on medical grounds turned back into a lawyer, but he gets given an opportunity from an old likewise former Special Forces friend in Sebastian Earle [Christian Slater:] that owns and runs CDI [Contracted Defense Initiatves;] he offers Pettits $20,000 to protect this award-winning journalist as she interviews the President of Paldonia; this award-winning journalist's name is  Claire Wellington [Alison Brie:] she won the International Journalism and Editors Award, but she is also partly disgraced as a journalist as well, as she can check on her sources and basically the credibility of those sources. But she has this interview with President Juan Venegas [Juan Pablo Raba:] he doesn't give interviews, but comes over as a nice guy, but he also has a history with Pettits and Earle.

Generally speaking: the framework pacing of this 109 minutes film is... well it has a plan and sticks to that. We welcomed into this film by Mason with narration and seeing things from his perspective starting off as a boy and then so on for the opening section to this film. In hindsight this is where the positives of this film comes from as from an character, artistic, comedy and action perspectives come into play; where we get to experience a little bit of his life, this prospective is a clean and tidy representation of this outlay, including unfortunately someone vomiting on him and then when he joins the army, this is where the first person shooter perspective comes into play as he goes on these missions and finally we get to experience Mason falling out of this militarised chopper.

Now on to the rest of this film; it is very much filled up with the standard for this kind of film; the action and comedy is severable.

Character developments and performances; minus the positive bit I said earlier, the rest of it is paint by numbers and safe and reliable versions of what they are meant to be and the performances reflect that.

This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed: as I have already indicated it knows what it is and sticks to the plan, don't get me wrong if you like either or both Cena or Slater take a look at this film, but I wouldn't expect too much and there is a something bloopers in the first section of the ending credits on the right-hand side.

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/shooting/stabbing/references to incest and gay/animal cruelty/animal biting/torture/choking/vehicle crashing/running over squashing/squashing.

After this robbery: basically; Wanda Gershwitz and her stated brother Otto West [Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline:] set up a member of the team; George Thomason [Tom Georgeson] with a anonymous call to the police, but however what they didn't plan for is for him to come up with something if things went wrong. Thompson can only rely on Ken Pile [Michael Palin:] another member of this criminal team, he also has a noticeable stutter and is a vegetarian.

Generally speaking: everything about this film is very much from the old school of filmmaking and comedy; the framework and pacing of this 108 minutes film is very dry.

Comedy/Action; for some examples; Pile has been given the job to silence a witness by Thompson, so when this comes into play; the viewing audience gets to bear witness to Pile attempting to achieve his mission with to begin with very little success; to put a little bit more weight to what I'm saying here it is something like Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner; I can't overstate this enough with an adult flavour and outcomes and much later on we have a steam roller with yes the outcome that you are now probably thinking of.

Character developments and performances; these are good versions of their character types and there is good chemistry from everyone involved.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; after everything is said and done this film finds itself at this mark. This film has awards accredited to its name 9 winners that includes Academy Awards, USA 1989 Oscar Best Actor in a Supporting Role Kevin Kline and 21 Nominees that includes from the same award ceremony Best Director Charles Crichton [Director] and then Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen John Cleese (screenplay/story) Charles Crichton (story) additional Cleese; is also a Director for this film and on top of that as Archie Leach: he is a lawyer/barrister and he is defending Thompson. But to finish of here are some more nominees accredited award;  American Comedy Awards, USA 1989 American Comedy Awards, USA American Comedy Award Funniest Actress in a Motion Picture (Leading Role) Jamie Lee Curtis, from the same award event/ceremony Funniest Actor in a Motion Picture (Leading Role) John Cleese and finally Funniest Actor in a Motion Picture (Leading Role) Kevin Kline.

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/references to the Soviet Union and Russia including a reputation of the IRA/terrorism/shooting/vehicle crashing/impaling/medical

Sometimes doing the right thing comes with a heavy price: basically; after Dr. Jack Ryan [Harrison Ford:] is an ex-CIA analyst, but nowadays is a lecturer at the US Navy Academy Annapolis, Maryland with his family. But after he takes action to stop this terrorist activity, where he gets shot and killed somebody. Unfortunately that somebody happens to be Sean Miller [Sean Bean:] little brother and as Sean Miller is a member of a splinter unit from the IRA, the splinter unit meaning they have links to the IRA, but they are very much on their own mission, which Miller now just once revenge for his baby brother, by any means, by any cost; revenge.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 117 minutes film is; this is one of those films that is slow, but designed to be progressively slow and steady as it works on catching Sean Miller, it is a very atmospheric film as it reflects what is happening at that point in the film, be it slow and steady as I have already indicated or quicker when you are in the action sequences.

Speaking of the action sequences; I don't want to be too disrespectful, because if you have been here and through this timeframe in history, you would understand that; we just didn't have as much technology as we do today in 2024; but we do have gunfights and as I have already put in the warning section a vehicle crashing as in a rough description; Miller is trying to take out Dr. Jack Ryan's family by shooting at them from one vehicle to their vehicle, consequently causing the crash; but all the action sequences are solidly good.

Character developments and performances; the character developments are likewise solidly good versions of what they are meant to be, but on reflection this is very much a cast performance; such as James Earl Jones as Admiral James Greer; his position is CIA Deputy Director, he offers Jack come back the CIA but Jack declines the first time; he also gives us the only mention of comedy; basically he casually interrupts this heated conversation, says his bit and then says you were telling Jack why we wouldn't want his help [or something to that effect] and then Samuel L. Jackson as Commander-In Chief Robby Jackson, he is good friends with Prof Jack Ryan.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; and again on reflection I decided to award this film an extra mark based on the cast. This film also has some awards accredited to its name 1 Winner ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards 1993 ASCAP Award Top Box Office Films James Horner and 3 Nominees that includes Young Artist Awards 1993 Young Artist Award Best Young Actress Under Ten in a Motion Picture Thora Birch as Sally Ryan: the daughter to Jack and his wife/her mother Dr. Cathy Ryan [as Anne Archer:] she is a medical doctor/surgeon and she can't go back to the life they once had.

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/animal feeding/animal cruelty/electrocution/burning/medical

Seconds anybody?: Basically; it happened again to the inhabitants of Amity Island are having another great white shark problem; Chief Martin Brody [Roy Scheider:] he is up for another battle even though it is a different shark, but not enough of the right people, believe it is happening again.

Generally speaking: the script, framework and pacing of this 116 minutes film is well what do you want me to say? So much of this film nothing happens, even the personality of this shark is lacking from the aspect of; sometimes we do or do not have the build up of attack "Jaws – Main Title," yes in some cases you could make the argument of surprise attack, which I get it but I don't have to like it, I prefer personality over cheap jumps.

Action/Art; this is also very lacking; I know we get the waterskis scene/sequence which is good, but we have to wait until so much later on for this film to actually feel and look like a Jaws film and don't get me wrong this great white shark looks excellent. But for the action or/and art having to wait for things consistently kick into a higher gear is just another major downer.

Character developments and performances; the character developments on one side drive me absolutely insane, because no one of key positions within this community is at the very least open to the idea of this situation may or may not be happening again, I would accept that if this was the first film, but as it is a sequel; you would be thinking hold on if it can happen once, it could happen again. Whilst on the other side they are a reliable versions of what they are meant to be and it should be noted that Roy Scheider as Chief Martin Brody is absolutely the driving force behind this sequel.

This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; it has enough about it not to go into the poor section of my rating system. I mean if you haven't seen this film, you may want to watch it on your way through to the third film and so on to the fourth.
