Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/shooting/stabbing/references to incest and gay/animal cruelty/animal biting/torture/choking/vehicle crashing/running over squashing/squashing.

After this robbery: basically; Wanda Gershwitz and her stated brother Otto West [Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline:] set up a member of the team; George Thomason [Tom Georgeson] with a anonymous call to the police, but however what they didn't plan for is for him to come up with something if things went wrong. Thompson can only rely on Ken Pile [Michael Palin:] another member of this criminal team, he also has a noticeable stutter and is a vegetarian.

Generally speaking: everything about this film is very much from the old school of filmmaking and comedy; the framework and pacing of this 108 minutes film is very dry.

Comedy/Action; for some examples; Pile has been given the job to silence a witness by Thompson, so when this comes into play; the viewing audience gets to bear witness to Pile attempting to achieve his mission with to begin with very little success; to put a little bit more weight to what I'm saying here it is something like Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner; I can't overstate this enough with an adult flavour and outcomes and much later on we have a steam roller with yes the outcome that you are now probably thinking of.

Character developments and performances; these are good versions of their character types and there is good chemistry from everyone involved.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; after everything is said and done this film finds itself at this mark. This film has awards accredited to its name 9 winners that includes Academy Awards, USA 1989 Oscar Best Actor in a Supporting Role Kevin Kline and 21 Nominees that includes from the same award ceremony Best Director Charles Crichton [Director] and then Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen John Cleese (screenplay/story) Charles Crichton (story) additional Cleese; is also a Director for this film and on top of that as Archie Leach: he is a lawyer/barrister and he is defending Thompson. But to finish of here are some more nominees accredited award;  American Comedy Awards, USA 1989 American Comedy Awards, USA American Comedy Award Funniest Actress in a Motion Picture (Leading Role) Jamie Lee Curtis, from the same award event/ceremony Funniest Actor in a Motion Picture (Leading Role) John Cleese and finally Funniest Actor in a Motion Picture (Leading Role) Kevin Kline.
