Seconds anybody?: Basically; it happened again to the inhabitants of
Amity Island are having another great white shark problem; Chief Martin Brody
[Roy Scheider:] he is up for another battle even though it is a different
shark, but not enough of the right people, believe it is happening again.
Generally speaking: the script, framework and pacing of this 116 minutes
film is well what do you want me to say? So much of this film nothing happens,
even the personality of this shark is lacking from the aspect of; sometimes we
do or do not have the build up of attack "Jaws – Main Title," yes in
some cases you could make the argument of surprise attack, which I get it but I
don't have to like it, I prefer personality over cheap jumps.
Action/Art;
this is also very lacking; I know we get the waterskis scene/sequence which is
good, but we have to wait until so much later on for this film to actually feel
and look like a Jaws film and don't get me wrong this great white shark looks
excellent. But for the action or/and art having to wait for things consistently
kick into a higher gear is just another major downer.
Character
developments and performances; the character developments on one side drive me
absolutely insane, because no one of key positions within this community is at
the very least open to the idea of this situation may or may not be happening
again, I would accept that if this was the first film, but as it is a sequel;
you would be thinking hold on if it can happen once, it could happen again.
Whilst on the other side they are a reliable versions of what they are meant to
be and it should be noted that Roy Scheider as Chief Martin Brody is absolutely
the driving force behind this sequel.
This
film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; it has enough about it not to go into
the poor section of my rating system. I mean if you haven't seen this film, you
may want to watch it on your way through to the third film and so on to the
fourth.
