Parker 2013 by AverageMansReviews

Parker 2013 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is good.

Fundamental elements: there are a number or a word or words on screen, cultural elements, background music, mental imagery, slow-motion effects, voice-over elements, no subtitles when another language is being used, time jumps and place jumps.

Action sequences: in a nutshell there are weapons being used and combat elements.

Character developments/Performances: on both counts the character developments and the performances are clichés of these character types, so in fairness and balance after everything is said and done it is a little bit difficult to criticize these performances, when these character models are something safe and reliable, but generally speaking the performances are a reflection of their character developments. Statham for a heavy amount of the time carries this project and makes it work; he does get some support from Lopez [meaning she is not a full-time character/performer from the very beginning of this title.]

This film receives: 6/10, what can I say; this project has a plan and it sticks to that plan, so taking everything into consideration this mark feels right

King of Thieves 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title is poor.

Fundamental elements: there are words and numbers on screen, cultural elements, background music, voice-over elements, slow-motion effects, time jumps and place jumps.

Storyline: now before I continue I would like to state the following; I am not criticizing these real life events I am simply making this one point which has nothing to do with this storyline but it is a fair point anyway. I greatly prefer the film title The Hatton Garden Job 2017 [in a nutshell same storyline.] Moving on to the comedy level it is there in this title, for one example; this character that is meant to be on lookout duties has fallen asleep at his post and he is difficult to wake up.

Character developments/Performances: now on both counts they are mixed.

This film receives: 3/10, I don't know what it is or was about this project I either quickly lost interest or something like this; yes I think I may be found something funny once or twice, but as I have already said I greatly prefer The Hatton Garden Job 2017 of what I can vaguely remember [let's be honest I watch lots of projects,] but based on the mark I gave this title of 8/10 that tells me I preferred it greatly to this project.

Review Time: this title is poor

Fundamental elements: there are words on screen, mental imagery, cultural elements, background music, no subtitles when another language is being used, time jumps and place jumps.

I may as well say it now from the very beginning of this review; I don't have too much too say about this title, you could easily fast-forward roughly 40 minutes at the beginning of this title, you really wouldn't miss much maybe a little bit here and a little bit there [you know the basics.] But other than that not much happens, I mean even when this film shows signs of life it doesn't really get going either so [I'm not sure what I meant to say about this title really, it is one of those occasions where I can only point out what's there to begin with, but it doesn't help my case when there isn't to much for me to talk about from the start] and I should just point out even though I have put this paragraph under the fundamental elements it is the entire project which doesn't give me much to work with in fairness and balance.

Action sequences: there are weapons being used and combat elements.

Character developments/Performances: generally speaking both counts they are poor.

This film receives: 1/10, what can I say other than this film is terrible

Flash Gordon 1980 by AverageMansReviews

Flash Gordon 1980 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title is good

Fundamental elements: there are voice-over elements, background music, slow-motion effects, mental imagery, cultural elements, time jumps and place jumps.

Artistic visions/Action sequences/Comedy level: straight off the bat there is one thing I should point out from the very beginning; this film is cheesy, but let's be fair this film does really well for what it had at its disposal back then. Moving on to the artistic visions; the comic book elements at the beginning of this film are good, in fact the artistic visions throughout this project are good on every level be it the costumes, accessories or anything else really.

The action sequences and the comedy level; I am going to be talking about these two elements together; it could be when Flash Gordon [NFL starter for the New York Jets,] finds himself with this ball shaped thing in his hands against Emperor Ming's henchmen or hench people so he does what he knows what he can do to a very high standard and not forgetting now and again he does get some assistance from Prince Vultan. But having said this sometime later Prince Vultan has this remote in his hands and he does make it difficult for Flash Gordon and Prince Barin in this one-on-one combat sequence just for fun.

Character developments/Performances: now based on observation is it me or is Princess Aura a highly sexual character; all I am saying is there is enough in this title to suggest this. Generally speaking the character developments and the performances are good, it is a little bit difficult to say really because as I have already said this film is cheesy and as everyone should know by now I really don't like splitting hairs or [taking two seconds to think about it,] if I have to not too much, but I think with taking everything into consideration and to be fair good would be a reasonable assessment.

This film receives: 6/10, now just for something a little bit different; I am going to do a good thing and a negative thing here; good thing we have some background music by the legendary band Queen and a negative thing, the scene and the question-mark thing at the end of this title and there are elements before this scene to suggest there may be a sequel in some dialogue exchanges, let's just put it this way it is highly unlikely we will be getting a sequel now, so to finish up this mark is a solid verdict of this title.

Updated Sunday: 02/06/2019 I have decided to put this review in the Marvel section, because of this character's association with the Defenders of the Earth animated TV series

Defendor 2009/2010 by AverageMansReviews

Defendor 2009/2010 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title is good

Fundamental elements: there is background music, cultural elements, mental imagery, slow-motion effects, voice-over elements, time jumps and place jumps.

Action sequences/Artistic visions/Comedy level: there are weapons being used and combat elements, now moving on to the artistic visions I really do like the let's just call him the "Street-Artist" sequence and scenes and finally moving on to the comedy level; there is one sequence which is well-placed and well executed throughout, it is where our lead character is trying to listen into this conversation with one of these handheld listening dishes that may get used by the police or any agency you can think of; but in this scene our lead role is using this equipment, attempting to hide somewhere which is obvious where he is and it is too close to the individuals he is trying to listen into through this equipment.

Character developments/Performances: now we come to the heart of this film, without giving too much away; this film is about this individual that believes that he is a superhero/vigilante [for you hard-core superhero/vigilantes/anything other fans out there,] I think he is a vigilante that is why I have used this word I base my opinion on how he looks and acts in this title. But putting that to one side, this lead character/performer is genuinely a nice guy, but however shows prominent science of having a mental illness or a personality disorder or something else [I am trying my best to not offend anyone here,] he believes strongly in what he does and no one can tell him anything different. Harrelson and Dennings have very good chemistry, because these two characters have their own separate issues in one way or another, but maybe in a different world these two characters/performers could have been an excellent match for one another [maybe to build a family,] but in this world they gravitate towards one another in their current forms/character developments and build this chemistry that works for them, generally speaking are what they are or good as well.

This film receives: 7/10, this film deserves to be seen as a superhero film or something like that, because there is a vigilante in this title, but it implies that anyone can make a difference

Venom 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Venom 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is excellent.

Fundamental elements: there are slow-motion effects, cultural elements, background music, another language being used without subtitles being used, voice-over elements, words on screen, time jumps and place jumps.

I have been thinking about this for some time [when I originally dictated this review,] the biggest problem that this title has is it takes some time to find itself and get going, but after that it can be enjoyable.

Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom: I think I can get away with saying this; because without this point there wouldn't be this film, when these two characters meet or become Host and Symbiote, this is where this film wakes up and I should just clarify it isn't just a wake-up call, it is an sonic boom, that clearly states "We are here cross our path and the consequences will be deadly."

I was wondering how to put this; but instead I'm just going to say how it is; give Tom Hardy an extra two films contract right now with a sizable financial figure, because without this performer, this potential franchise would be next to nothing without him and I am aware that I'm just talking about one film at the moment, but based on his work in this title, he has already made a massive imprint, the chemistry between these two characters is priceless and I cannot overstate this; take this performer away from any other films involving these two characters would be ripping the heart out of any future plans they may or may not have for these two characters. [I have just said another two films because that would be a contract for a trilogy, but as long as Tom wants the role he can have it for as long as he wants really for multiple titles.]

Comedy level/Character developments: this particular element of this project may irritate some people out there in Internet land, because we have Venom being funny and yes I do respect other people’s opinions. But let's be fair, it makes Venom more of a three-dimensional character including his other personality traits, I mean if I had to give this character a comedy level this is what I would have gone for as well, because without saying too much more Eddie Brock balances out Venom or at least tries to.

Artistic visions/Action sequences: Venom looks amazing and generally speaking the action sequences show off his abilities, skills and personality traits excellently, briefly look out for the motorbike sequence and the small swimming sequence [in a good way I can't remember a stage by stage account of these action sequences, because these elements have many things happening, but I know these elements are there so I think this is one of those titles that you could watch quite a few times and you would still find enjoyment from it; because you could look at different parts that you may have missed the previous time or times around and so on and so forth [as long as you can put up with the section at the beginning of this title or slightly more, I can't exactly nail it down, but somewhere around here.]

Performances: the rest of the performances are mixed.

This film receives: 8/10, the thing is after everything is said and done I could justify this mark, I mean yes I haven't forgotten the biggest problem with this project, but the best way I could say it would be this; would the real Venom please stand up, please stand up; because that is what we have in this title.

Lego Batman: The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Lego Batman: The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title is mixed, because this project is roughly 71 minutes long I will be somewhat brief on what I tell you.

Fundamental elements: there are words on screen, background music, slow-motion effects, time jumps and place jumps.

Action sequences/Character developments/Comedy level: now I know this would be a strange combination for a paragraph, but it will make sense as we progress throughout it; so generally speaking firstly there are weapons being used and chasing elements, so in this one sequence we have a selection of evildoers [in no particular order The Riddler, Harley Quinn and Two-Face.] Two-Face is driving this vehicle and because there are choices to be made Two-Face flips his coin every time [for those people that don't know this character too well here is the basic background elements for you, this character suffers from a split personality, they leave it up to chance on what option or decision they take or make, I know I have said they instead of him simply put it is because they are they and not a him.] But back to this project I like how this film uses this character development/personality flaw to put together this action sequence, it shows how dependent Two-Face is on this/his coin and on top of that they have made it comical throughout this sequence is well.

The Joker; he is good, but I don't like how he uses the same joke 2 and a half times just different variations of it and I have said this amount, because on the third time he gives up half way through] and it kind of highlights that he hasn't got enough material or something like this which isn't true; he is highly intelligent teetering towards madness or madness depending what mood he is in and many other things at any time let us not forget this character is incredibly unpredictable so anything is possible.]

Artistic visions: they are well presented such as here are two examples; watch out for joker's faces and the second is this; Superman is flying/carrying Batman at night which Batman really doesn't look happy, but Superman suddenly throws Batman up to make this Batman symbol in front of the moon and then Superman catches him again, Batman says something and still doesn't look happy and the project moves on.

This film receives: 5/10, now I was thinking on how to put this; individually in this project there are many good elements or segments such as Bruce Wayne changing into Batman [I can't tell you anything about this element, simply based on it is a very small piece, but it is imaginative] and the camera going through this place and this character walking into the camera, I have to say this; this particular sequence of events I am not sure if it is the camera's fault for going at this pace or if this character just didn't watch where he was going but either way they collide or this giant machinery which you will see Lex Luther and the Joker use [once again I am not going to tell you anything about this. My point is this yes this film as these elements and more, but this film does have a mixture of being dull and tiresome to it as well, this project has a strange feeling to it where you may be enjoying it but does feel like it is dragging its feet on top or separately at some points.

Ghostbusters: Answer the Call 2016 [alternative name Ghostbusters] by AverageMansReviews

Ghostbusters: Answer the Call 2016 [alternative name Ghostbusters] by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this project is good.

Fundamental elements: there are slow-motion effects, background music, place jumps and time jumps.

Artistic visions/Action sequences: the artistic visions and the action sequences are imaginative and visual, there should be at least one thing at some point in this title that you should enjoy, for one example on the artistic visions side of things, when a character changes into an animated version of this very well-known symbol, he does talk a little [just before he turns into the bigger version of this symbol,] this is one of those occasions where this may not make much sense now but if or when you watch this project it will make sense when you see it] or on the action sequences side of things the balloon bursting sequence [I think they are balloons, I am not being lazy but once again this will make sense when or if you choose to watch this project.]

Comedy level/Performances: now in this paragraph I will be discussing both of these elements at the same time, because I will be focusing on the comedy/chemistry between these performers/characters which there is very good comedy/chemistry between them to work on if there is a sequel in the future [I want to make this crystal clear I am not, I am not saying that there is or will be a sequel in the future I'm just saying for here and now they have laid a very solid foundation to work on in this sequel if or when this happens.] Briefly between the five of them there could be something comical being said or happening or working on something or progressing the film or something else [just in case I have missed something out.]

This film receives: 7/10, I think this is one of those films that you could watch it many times for at least a little while and always find something different to focus on or something other, because I sat down to dictate this review and I couldn't remember everything about it and on top of that I think I have put the right mark down for this project, just based on the facts, it covers the foundation elements and everything that comes with that so if they wanted to make a sequel it should be relatively easy to move everything forward without too much difficulty.

Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title is mixed, because this project is less than 60 minutes long I will be somewhat brief on what I tell you.

Fundamental elements: there is background music, slow-motion effects, words on screen, voice-over elements, time jumps and place jumps.

Artistic visions/Action sequences/Comedy level: let's talk about the artistic visions and the action sequences together they are good, such as this version of the Green Lantern [Guy Gardner] makes a mental construct by using his Power Ring, this construct goes around him and it is of himself to take on another character or where in the air Batman is flying somewhere in this sequence, he catches these Scouts in mid-air by handcuffing them to make a link with him in the middle, the first thing they do is make a Batman symbol and then secondly Batman and these Scouts take down this evildoer beginning in mid-air. The comedy level, here are a couple of examples of it, Batman opens this container containing Kryptonite and because Superman is in close proximity, he is giving this dialogue exchange and at the same time he loses his powers, Batman closes this container; with confusion Superman is wondering what has just happened. The second one is where we have Batman looking at these instructions [the instructions that you get with a new box of Lego, that basically shows you how to put it together,] but in this case it shows something else which I will not tell you.

Character developments: generally speaking they are mixed.

This film receives: 4/10, in short this mark feels right but it also has to be said I have seen better titles from Lego, but at least it is not as bad as The Lego Ninjago Movie 2017.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army 2008 by AverageMansReviews

Hellboy II: The Golden Army 2008 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this sequel is excellent.

Fundamental elements: there are words and numbers on screen, voice-over elements, cultural elements, background music, yes and no to subtitles being used when another language is being used, slow-motion effects, time jumps and place jumps.

Artistic visions/Action sequences/Comedy level: the artistic visions are a consistent theme in this title, for two examples which are close together the story of this war; this sequence is highly detailed and beautifully shown and moving on a little; the title sequence has imagination to it as well. The action sequences have the same level of detail and attention, such as when our lead evildoer is training with this weapon and much later on our lead role and lead evildoer are doing combat on these cogs, there is a reason why I couldn't say too much about the artistic visions earlier on in this paragraph; because I don't talk about everything in a project, but it has more to do with the fact that this action sequence that I am discussing also has a certain high level of an artistic vision as well as an action sequence, so I can either explore this section a little bit more or discuss other elements and as I have already begun discussing this sequence, it makes sense to continue so with that being said; I like how from beginning to end [including before the action sequence,] the artistic visions really put across to their audiences how grand this place once was and still is, moving slowly forward now I like how our lead role goes around on and underneath these cogs [this will make better sense when or if you choose to watch this sequel or not.]

The comedy level is or has been well-placed, like when we have these two returning characters talking about something serious and in the background as they are walking/talking there are things happening, this sequence has been designed to illustrate whatever is happening in the background this is just an average day at the office for these characters/people that work here or another example is where we have our lead role and this returning character getting drunk in this sequence, firstly talking about love and wishing father was still here/singing and then later on showing long-term effects of drinking.

Storyline: now let's begin on a positive the storyline is good, but unfortunately there are two points in this title that suggests to me there should have been a sequel to this sequel, briefly the first point is this character development and the second point is this dialogue exchange late on in this film title [that is all I can say about these two points really] and consequently this sequel has a feeling of what happened next at the end of this film title, because we are getting a reboot of this live-action character in 2019 will never find out what happened next to these versions of these characters.

Character developments/Performances: the returning characters/performers have been well developed to illustrate that time stands still for no person or anything living; their chemistry feels better gelled together. The newcomers be it the characters developments/performers slot in and they don't feel out of place, the cast should be very happy with the way this sequel turned out.

This film receives: 8/10, I have a selection of marks in mind but I chose this one straight after watching this sequel and from an overview perspective I will stick with it.

Hellboy 2004 by AverageMansReviews

Hellboy 2004 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this project is good

Fundamental elements: there are words and numbers on screen, cultural elements, background music, no subtitles when another language is being used, voice-over elements, a mental imagery flashback thing, time jumps and place jumps.

Artistic visions: there is this symbol on the floor and on the side of this plane transporting these characters to this location [basically this symbol is of this hand holding this sword in a circle] or this sequence where one character gets killed to bring another character back to life or to release this character I am not sure which one it is so I have put both [he comes up from this place and is covered in blood from head to toe] or this other sequence where Hellboy is bringing this other character back to life kind of; meaning he is mentally and verbally able to communicate but pretty much nothing else [but this character looks nicely detailed and well put together.

Comedy level/Action sequences: it is a consistent theme; be it visual comedy where our lead role lights his cigar with these flames of fire; his finger or fingers is on fire yet he casually lights his cigar whilst communicating with another character on this communication device or in the dialogue or dialogue exchanges.

The action sequences also have this element of comedy to them now and again, for this one example Hellboy puts up his hand to stop this oncoming vehicle which clearly it isn't going to stop so he punches this bonnet and this vehicle flips over his head and roughly throughout this movement, he says red means stop [just in case you don't know this lead character is of the colour of red.]

Performances: now generally speaking they range from anywhere around mixed to good.

This film receives: 7/10, with taking everything into consideration this mark feels fair, there are action sequences, comedy elements, comic book appearances of Hellboy and other things. But keeping this review balanced I don't know if it is just me or are some sections of this title quicker or have a better fluency to it than others.

Æon Flux 2005 by AverageMansReviews

Æon Flux 2005 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is poor.

Fundamental elements: there are words and numbers on screen, voice-over elements, background music, mental imagery, time jumps and place jumps.

The entire movement of this title is something I don't like, be it the background music or the pacing or anything other, it's just unappealing and makes this film really hard work to watch [in fairness this is not the only reason why this film is poor.]

Artistic visions/Action sequences: on both counts these two elements can be good on the eyes or simply put just not, I will give you two things one of each to look out for in this title, but before I do this; the difference between something of real individualism or you know of something positive for me to talk about or something to this effect compared to something which isn't, the gap itself to begin with is huge and on top of that the switches between these two different levels is quick, often and sudden. So for the next couple of minutes, I will be positive the fly scene or sequence shows real artistic vision, it is something visually elegant and subtle and for an action sequence [you could also see this sequence as an artistic vision as well.] The action sequence I am making reference to is where our lead role drops these little yet sophisticated metal balls [something similar to ball bearings] and let's just say when our lead role whistles these metal balls will come rolling [I will be discussing these two examples again in the next paragraph.]

Character developments/Performances: continuing with being positive, the character developments of our lead role is for some elements really well shown, as in the fly sequence or the little metal balls sequence she is quiet and patient to catch this fly or in the metal balls sequence, she will gather information or this liquid and then escape, for the rest of the character developments they are poor. The performances well this is one of those times where our lead role, Theron makes the best out of what was given to her, whilst generally speaking the other performances are poor [on a side note and in a nutshell I don't include Postlethwaite in this; because he only does some tiny scenes and I don't think it would be fair for me to tar him with the same brush.]

This film receives: 2/10, as I have already said in one way or another this title does have some good bits and pieces, but for a majority of it; it isn't fun watching.

Black Panther 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Black Panther 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: generally speaking this film is excellent.

Fundamental elements: there are voice-over elements, cultural elements with another language being used with subtitles , there are time jumps and place jumps, a word or words and numbers on screen [I cannot remember if it was a word on screen or just words] and there is background music being used in this title as well.

Now I have gotten the basics out of the way with I can go a little bit more deeper, now don't get me wrong the mark I will give this title is well-deserved, but first I am going to talk about some of the problems I have with this title such as sometimes the background music works hand-in-hand with the scene or sequence that it is a part of, basically it fits in excellently to create this atmosphere which brings everything else together, but sometimes the background music is something loud and something just there or just there.

Moving on to my next point; I don't know what happens really, you see at some point this title really does slow down in its momentum and it does find itself again, but it has to be said when this project loses its momentum or rhythm or anything you would like to call it, this film does feel completely different it begins with a real identity to it and at some point it suddenly slows down [it is like someone has turned off a light switch,] but some time later it is like the same person has come back to turn on the light switch which in turn makes this film lively again and as if no one has touched that light switch in the first place.

Artistic visions/Action sequences: the artistic visions are firstly many upon many and secondly they are well used throughout this project, be it the landscapes or the costumes and accessories or [trying not to give too much away,] seeing and discussing things with characters that are no longer on this earth, these elements are interesting and great-looking.

Now for the action sequences, they are fun and well presented they all give this title some value in one way or another, I should just point out the action sequences are entertaining, but then again it just depends what background music accompanies them, is depending how much I like them [I still like the ones with the slightly off-putting background music,] but I do prefer the ones that use the right background music if any, with the action sequence.]

Performances: for me they range from just before good to very good, I haven't seen the future but if at some point they were going to make a sequel, I would be really interested to see that because I think this lead character and other elements have much to offer the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe.]

This film receives: 8/10, taking everything into consideration yes this film does have problems, but then again it is just too good to be given anything less than what mark I have given it, I am really interested to see what they could do with this character in another individual title.

Ant-Man and the Wasp 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Ant-Man and the Wasp 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this sequel is highly entertaining.

Fundamental elements: there is background music including singing I think, words on screen, mental imagery, time jumps and place jumps.

Comedy level/Action sequences: now when I originally was thinking about this sequel, I thought I had forgotten watching this film all I can remember is just as I have said in my opening line this sequel is highly entertaining, but in a nutshell I came back to do it [which you can see,] the reason why I am telling you all of this; is because this is one of those films that has the repeat viewing factor about it and yes I can remember a decent amount of it, it is just I was either really watching this scene or sequence or finding something really funny at the time or something else, so it wasn't anything to do with boredom or anything like this.

The comedy elements, well they could happen at any time or take any form [be it verbal or visual comedy,] like for one example in this action sequence this Pez Candy dispenser gets thrown from this moving vehicle, in a nutshell it gets enlarged [by this blaster] and it almost hits the bad person character on the motorbike behind them, generally speaking the comedy level or elements do not feel forced or out of place, they feel natural and a reliable element to this sequel.

Moving on to the action sequences; they are imaginative, quick and many [it is difficult to pick some elements to talk about,] because I don't want to give too much away, but having said this; the vehicles which can shrink and return to their original sizes at any time [when the driver pushes or pulls this lever] and on a quick yet small side note where these vehicles are kept it is a wonderful touch.

Artistic visions: in a nutshell there is always something to see or to experience in this sequel and it is of impeccable standards.

Performances/Character developments: on both of these counts there is a very good chemistry between these performers/characters as it goes for the main three characters to begin with of Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Hope Van Dyne/Wasp and Ava Starr/Ghost, they all individually or together either push their character developments forward as recurring characters or newcomer Ava/Ghost, this character or individual knows how to make an impact in this project.

Now as it relates to this evildoer/businessman with his own contacts and his henchmen, I think it is safe to say they are somewhat out of their depths from the perspective of yes they have guns and so on, but Ant-Man has what he has at his disposal, the same can be said for Wasp and Ghost and not forgetting they have skill sets and their personality traits and everything that comes with that as well, so this evildoer and his henchmen can be seen as like heels in wrestling or something to that effect where at least they are trying to be a thorn in the side of the previous three characters I have just mentioned, for the rest of the performers I haven't mentioned yet they all bring something to the table be it recurring characters or newcomers.

This film receives: 10/10, when this review was dictated it may have taken me part of one day and part of another to get down, but this sequel has so much happening in it, that it quickly changes through the gears from a walking pace or somewhere around here to light speed [I mean this from an unbiased perspective now and again on the project in question,] I prefer films that take care or settle down the fundamental elements first and then let it do its thing which in turn should make things easier to put in and withdraw if and when it is time to do so; and if you have done this correctly in theory it should create a fluency which makes things feel natural be it a comedy element or whatever you want to put in at that time which this sequel has, so basically this sequel is lots of action and lots of fun.

Ant-Man 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Ant-Man 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is good.

Fundamental elements: there is a number and words on screen, cultural elements, mental imagery, background music, voice-over elements, time jumps and place jumps.

Storyline: generally speaking without giving too much away, this storyline is origins based, it has elements of the original Ant-Man [Dr. Hank Pym] and the origin of the second Ant-Man [Scott Lang,] so with saying this; it does feel like they are covering the fundamental elements of these two characters in this title and not forgetting Hope van Dyne as well, it is one of those occasions where if you're going to have a storyline like this; you may as well do it in the first film title, so you can move onto something else in the second film title, if it gets a green light for a sequel it gives them something to build on. I should point out with storylines like this; you can only do them once as it relates to a small network of characters [that are recurring characters, so for an example at some point way, way, way in the future if they want to reboot this character with a different performer as Ant-Man or just thinking about it for two seconds if they have Scott Lang standing down to be replaced by a another one [I am just thinking outside the box] then I have no problem with them doing another origin storyline of some description, because yes in theory it would be another origin storyline, but it would still be moving things forward.

Artistic visions/Action sequences: now it would make sense for me to talk about these two elements at the same time, because they have a lot to do with one another and as everyone should know by now I am not a big fan of splitting hairs too much. The artistic visions and the action sequences do this character justice as in when he changes sizes the viewers get great views to experience some of what this character goes through or anything like this, be it training sequences [mental or physical,] the landscapes and different kinds of ants look highly detailed and easy on the eye and when it is time to have an action sequence the artistic visions and the action sequences are able to blend in with one another, so briefly they are more than happy to keep up with one another, but here are three examples of the action sequences; breaking into this safe [I will discuss this more later on,] Ant-Man vs. an Avenger and look out for this tank.

Comedy level/Character developments/Performances: there are some bits and pieces that are funny, I think as it relates to the comedy level; it is there in this project, but because we don't know these characters too well yet at this point it roughly is built for these characters but not really defined to them [in short the more projects you use these characters in with the same performers the more you can define their personality traits, consequently their comedy style comes across as more natural and other elements,] I should just point out that there is only one character off the top of my head and currently out there which doesn't follow this formula and his name is Deadpool, this character may indeed develop between film titles but from his 2016 outing he hits the ground running and doesn't look back. But back to this film title moving on to the character developments and the performances, as I have already said because this film does the origins storyline thing the character developments and the performances reflect that as well, but to give credit when it is due the safe sequence highlights that our lead role is resourceful, intelligent mixed with street-smart intelligence, the performances from this cast are from an overview perspective are good.

This film receives: 7/10, this mark looks and feels right; there is one point I would like to make before ending this review; Thomas the Tank Engine makes it into the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe.]

The A-Team 2010 by AverageMansReviews

The A-Team 2010 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is good.

Fundamental elements: there are words and numbers on screen, cultural elements, background music, mental imagery, yes and no to subtitles being used when another language is being used, time jumps and place jumps.

Comedy level: these elements are good; here are just two rough examples such as when Murdoch is trying to start this vehicle and he gets electrocuted or when Murdoch is gently hanging off this medical helicopter [the rotor singing I believe it to be bits of the song You Spin Me Round.]

Action sequences: there are weapons being used, combat elements, chasing elements and making things. Now let's look at some other action sequences there is BA escaping this prison bus with assistance from other members of The A-Team or the falling with style tank sequence, this parachute chopper grab sequence, have you ever wondered what a body slam looks like when it goes wrong? Well BA will show you roughly somewhere around the final quarter of this project [it is a small scene so keep your eyes peeled.] Generally speaking all the action sequences have been planned out excellently with excellent variety in mind.

Character developments/Performances: now this is where this title falls down a reasonable amount [before I continue I would like to say this; I get what they were trying to do by beginning this film this way,] where without giving too much away this unit/friends were not completely established together yet. But consequently by doing things this way the chemistry be it the character developments or the performances or even both for some time feels forced. But let's be positive for a minute the chemistry/character developments/performances do all click at some point [I would like to tell you when but I can't let's just say that some point things do begin to feel natural and moving in the same direction,] so briefly the cast performances are good.

This film receives: 7/10, it has to be said I really don't like BA's hands tattoos, for me they are just tacky, but at least this project shows respect to the legendary US TV program of the same name throughout this project in one way or another, so after taking everything into consideration this mark feels right.

The Green Hornet 2011 by AverageMansReviews

The Green Hornet 2011 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is poor.

Fundamental elements: there is a number and words on screen, background music, cultural elements, quick moving effects, slow-motion effects, no subtitles when another language is being used, voice-over elements, place jumps and time jumps.

Comedy level: a majority of it is poor, but the lead evildoer not being seen as frightening or something to this effect including this really getting into his head and having our lead role asking roughly this question of "Who do you work for?" He aims this question towards these characters that are not in a fit state to respond to this simple question until the last one, these elements are good.

Action sequences: briefly at first there are weapons being used, combat elements and chasing sequences. The red eye or green eye thing is good [it is where individually these characters are planning out their movements and that kind of thing] and the car elements towards the later stages of this title are fun.

Character developments/Performances: the character developments on some aspects are awkward and before I continue I would like to highlight that if these elements were not in this title I wouldn't be discussing them, so with that being highlighted I will continue. The first element is where we have our lead role pointing out the other character he is working with should have nunchucks, because in this scene or sequence he gets given a weapon first [this other character and I say this with political correctness in mind, this other character is Asian] and without giving too much away he does use nunchucks much later on in this title, but continuing; these two characters have a fight and at some point this Asian character jumps on this furniture or something to send the lead character flying which I have no problem with, but for this one little thing do we really need to hear him say " Hadoken" when he does this [I would like to point out in the interest of fairness and balance I know this could be a reference to Ken and not Ryu from the multi-media franchise Street Fighter.] But there's more later on in this project [if at this point you are still paying attention you will hear this;] you will hear our lead role say "You guys are awesomely organized." When it is only the Asian character in the car with him,] The thing is I don't know why these elements are in this title in the first place, once again with being politically correct and walking a very fine line they didn't or don't really need to highlight that this character is from Asia especially in this manner in this project.

Now generally speaking the other character developments [minus one character which I will discuss later,] the character developments are poor. Moving on to the performances in short they range from poor to just before mixed, how can I put this; nicely and short as well, it depends if and when this title wants to be sensible is depending what kind of performance you will see and just for the record I am not completely comfortable with saying mixed, that is why I have been specific because there are some small elements of sensible bits and pieces from this recurring cast minus one character/performer, but as soon as you see or feel something sensible it goes back to being juvenile or at the very least not sensible.

Benjamin Chudnofsky/Waltz; this character/performer well I am not usually this direct but there is what everyone else is doing and then we have him which works on a completely different level it doesn't matter if it is a character development or a performance, one moment it can be serious next moment funny or the next moment combining the two or something else but here is the crucial thing to understand about this character/performances everything seems fluent and easy to watch when he is doing his thing.

This film receives: 2/10, even though in the previous paragraph and some elements throughout this review I have been highlighting they either work short-term in bits and pieces or positive. This mark is meant to reflect the negative elements to this project are counterproductive to the viewing experience [and on a side note there are two things for you to look out for; the first thing is Franco/Danny "Crystal" Clear and Benjamin Chudnofsky/Waltzlook have great chemistry and the second thing is the sketch pad, whilst this pad is being looked at briefly you will see a sketch of the legend Bruce Lee which was in the original; The Green Hornet TV series 1966 -- 1967 as the character Kato.]
