Review Time: this
title is good
Fundamental elements: there are voice-over elements, background music,
slow-motion effects, mental imagery, cultural elements, time jumps and place
jumps.
Artistic visions/Action sequences/Comedy level: straight off the bat there is one thing I should point
out from the very beginning; this film is cheesy, but let's be fair this film
does really well for what it had at its disposal back then. Moving on to the
artistic visions; the comic book elements at the beginning of this film are
good, in fact the artistic visions throughout this project are good on every
level be it the costumes, accessories or anything else really.
The
action sequences and the comedy level; I am going to be talking about these two
elements together; it could be when Flash Gordon [NFL starter for the New York
Jets,] finds himself with this ball shaped thing in his hands against Emperor
Ming's henchmen or hench people so he does what he knows what he can do to a
very high standard and not forgetting now and again he does get some assistance
from Prince Vultan. But having said this sometime later Prince Vultan has this
remote in his hands and he does make it difficult for Flash Gordon and Prince
Barin in this one-on-one combat sequence just for fun.
Character developments/Performances: now based on observation is it me or is Princess Aura a
highly sexual character; all I am saying is there is enough in this title to
suggest this. Generally speaking the character developments and the
performances are good, it is a little bit difficult to say really because as I
have already said this film is cheesy and as everyone should know by now I
really don't like splitting hairs or [taking two seconds to think about it,] if
I have to not too much, but I think with taking everything into consideration
and to be fair good would be a reasonable assessment.
This film receives:
6/10, now just for something a little bit different; I am going to do a good
thing and a negative thing here; good thing we have some background music by
the legendary band Queen and a negative thing, the scene and the question-mark
thing at the end of this title and there are elements before this scene to
suggest there may be a sequel in some dialogue exchanges, let's just put it
this way it is highly unlikely we will be getting a sequel now, so to finish up
this mark is a solid verdict of this title.
