Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson vs. the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40/2024: There is no problem here by AverageMansReviews

Warning/Disclaimer: there will be soft centred adult language used in this content and disclaimer I will be covering some uncomfortable subjects.

Who in the blue hell are you all demanding #WeWantCody?!: I mean I really wasn't going to do this content today, because I have so much other content to do. But I'm not going to mix my words unless censoring them obviously. I am going to tell you some home truths that I'm going to have a strong guess and say most of you won't like, in fact it will be so much home truth that you may as well call this a pipe bomb [in a wrestling sense.]

Now I have heard at least someone say and I am paraphrasing here; Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson needs to save WrestleMania 40. Yes Johnson is absolutely correct, because you have nobody else, you literally have nobody else; Punk out, Lesnar out, Cena [already done; WWE SummerSlam 2021 for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship,] even McIntyre [already done; WWE Clash At The Castle 2022 for the same championship,] like it or not Cody Rhodes [WrestleMania 39/2023 for the same championship] and everyone else that Roman Reigns has beaten.

I mean I don't get it; I have been telling you for years now at one point or another that I get Reigns' gimmick of technically beating everyone, but in that I have also told you the consequences of this gimmick going on too long is it will essentially create a void, because instead of realising halfway through this gimmick hold on if we don't start building someone that could eventually beat Reigns alongside him being unable to win claim or even at this point him actually bending the rules on his own or even with Heyman, we will have problems and low and behold, that is where we are. Where there is only one person that can now beat Reigns and that would be Johnson [and just to cover my back in the future, if he doesn't they better have fantastic match outlay and storyline through this and after; so I am slightly open to the fact that Reigns may retain, I am just saying it better be epic.] I mean I have seen this similar garbage before where in the early 2000's the hierarchy of this company refused point blank refused to essentially passed the torch onto the younger generation, so consequently you had ageing performers and no one coming up behind them to take over and even though we have this new regime; it is funny how the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Johnson is the true Tribal Chief anyway he took them from basically being a Samoan cliche gimmick, to being one of the most strongest wrestling dynasties in the world today, Johnson showed that he and the future generations of the Anoaʻi family could actually be so much more than Samoan wrestlers and stereotypes and/or just mid card mediocrity at best or very rarely in the main event scene [I hasten to add this did not apply to Yokozuna; yes for the younger generations of wrestling fans he is a member of this family,] he just open the door and everyone else still had to work hard, but opened the wrestling industry's eyes to hold on this family can actually wrestle and be a big part of any promotion all the way to either tag team or main event championships, so he is the breakthrough for not only himself but his family as well.

This is WrestleMania 40/2024 is a massive milestone so I don't care if you like this or not Johnson vs. Reigns for this championship is perfectly designed for this milestone and Rhodes vs. Reigns for this championship just isn't, I mean if we didn't see at last year maybe. But Johnson vs. Reigns; Championship at WWE Wrestle Mania 40/2024 yes absolutely and thank you.

I mean there are some key facts that we now need to discuss; you wanted long storyline telling; check. You wanted Johnson vs. Reigns; check. You wanted Rhodes to finish the story; we will get there at WrestleMania 41/2025 most probably; check. But in the meantime we will make Rhodes a WWE Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 40/2024 when he defeats Rollins; most probably check. I mean there is no, absolutely no chocolate fudgin' problem, it is just a sad reality that you aren't getting what you want, when you wanted and Johnson doesn't deserve any of this shish kebab.

Because I have heard/seen some of these comments about Johnson basically having an ego trip, he is clearly so much more intelligent than any of you give him credit for. Because within about five seconds or less, based on my opinion; it was clear to me that he wasn't just talking about saving WrestleMania in one sense, he was also talking about in another sense, because he was perhaps alluding to the fact that if he can use this character "The Rock" to go hey look over here not at himself, but hey look over here we have WrestleMania 40/2024, just don't look over there, look at me; I am taking on my cousin for our biggest event in history for his championship, there is no need to look over there.

Now I have said it quite a few times as in over there; over there meaning the ongoing Mr. McMahon saga; so it is a very old distracting technique which has stood the test of time, which is distract their focus and more importantly get back to the wrestling promotion focusing on wrestling.

Wow I have just seen this; and no it is an honest thing, because I checked it out before putting it in this content. There is now a petition going around saying Justice for Cody Rhodes, I have to be honest I was trying not to use too much softer adult language references in this content or any content, but seriously this is a fudgin' joke, no seriously go outside and smell the fudgin' grass you said people. You should be ashamed of fudgin' selves! This is why our community being of the wrestling community gets so much shish kebab from the outside world, because when people are losing their lives in war zones, struggling to feed their families and receiving abuse in some way for being different in any capacity, you are all complaining about fudgin' Rhodes not getting the spot you think he deserves?! Hell screw it I don't mind telling you for the past three years I have been dealing with a cancer situation with mental health on top, including my own mental health and everything else that comes with a life changing disability from birth.

My point clearly is; you fudgin' idiots there is more to life than wrestling, even a wrestler that has had it taken away from them after years away and then being fortunate to be able to go back would have a different outlook to wrestling and life in general. Even one individual has pointed out and this hash tag is now going around #JusticeForJanelGrant and not only do I agree with it you have some idiots discrediting her. I mean if it isn't this case, let's just blame everything on AEW, yes just for the record I have seen so many comments blaming everything on AEW which for those logical people out there I know, I know AEW have nothing to do with these situations, including their wrestlers, but they still get blamed or they switched the focus on onto them. Briefly I am also aware that there is now a hash tag going round of #WeWantRock/Rocky; I mean hopefully we don't have a change of plans and it stays to what we are looking like getting, if anyone deserves to headline this milestone it should be Johnson.

Finally; either grow up and act like a decent human being/wrestling fan or get the fudge out of wrestling, cry me a river and get on with your life.

After watching this event I came up with this outlay: why don't they just have one night of complete Miniatures Royal Rumble or/and Royal Rumble Matches.

I mean they could have NXT Men's and Women's 15 persons Royal Rumble Matches winner to receive NXT Championship Matches at NXT Stand & Deliver and then obviously have the Main Rosters equivalent but for WrestleMania.

I mean based on this past year's WWE Royal Rumble 2024 I am more so much more inclined to try out my idea, I am not being arrogant or anything like that, I mean if this is meant to be either the restart or freshen up or whatever let's do it on a Universal level and kick of the year with a big bang.

I haven't said this while; but I don't particularly like part-time champions, unless they make appearances or something to make themselves feel a part of in this case the WWE Universe. So no surprise here, but I would very much prefer to focus on the talent I had at my disposal be it the main rosters or/and NXT rosters. Yes you can even have the NXT Miniature Royal Rumble Matches as a qualifier for the 30th spot on the main rosters Royal Rumble Matches or to open up the opportunity to have NXT or main roster to switch brands as in someone from the main roster challenges for a NXT and vice versa as an option or/and you could have another Royal rumble matches involving potential of the Tag Team Championships if they had to fill up a match slot or slots, but I would prefer to keep them separate so that you can/we can have that restart effect across the WWE Universe.

In-depth Predictions/Other elements for NXT Vengeance Day 2024 by AverageMansReviews

In-depth Predictions/Other elements for NXT Vengeance Day 2024 by AverageMansReviews

Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams: Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals; the winners receive a future NXT Tag Team Championship Match: my pick is Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker. On one hand this pairing is being built as dominant, whilst on the other hand I have a feeling they are going to give this event in narrative throughout the night, beginning and finish it in the main event slot, so we have a book ends to this event.

Roxanne Perez vs. Champ Lyra Valkyria; Singles Match for the NXT Women's Championship: my pick is Lyra Valkyria. This should be an excellent match, but I just don't see a change of champion here.

OTM: Lucien Price, Bronco Nima & Jaida Parker [with Scrypts] vs. the NXT Tag Team Champions The Family: Tony D'Angelo, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo & Adriana Rizzo: Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match: OTM: Lucien Price, Bronco Nima & Jaida Parker [with Scrypts.] This could just be the first page to make Lucien Price & Bronco Nima eventually new number one contenders for these tag team championships.

Dijak vs. Joe Gacy; No Disqualification Match: my pick is Joe Gacy. I know Dijak should win, but I am looking at the stipulation of this match/match slot thinking since Schism are not around anymore, I would take this opportunity to pair him up with someone different and consequently because of this individual he picks up the W here.

Dragon Lee vs. Champ Oba Femi; Singles Match for the NXT North American Championship: my pick is Oba Femi. I fully expect this to be a sequel with the same outcome as in Femi squashing [what they have seen on social media] like he did the first time to get his hands on this championship.

Trick Williams vs. Champ Ilja Dragunov; Singles Match for the NXT Championship: my pick is Ilja Dragunov. Williams will ask Hayes to stay in the back as he feels like this is something he has to do on his own. But to speed this up, in the later stages Hayes sees an opportunity to give Williams it chair, he declines and when his back is turned Hayes hits Williams with the chair, based on earlier in the night but also they have been teasing this split for a little while now and just for the record I don't want them to split up, because together they have IT and they would be excellent on the main roster as a double act, but what I have seen on social media by video clips and other platforms and content and they aren't treating Hayes as you should be treated as a big deal anyway, which is just insane.

Why is this here?: Well it is simple; let's imagine you have a milestone event coming up in a few months and this match/match slot is meant to begin the build up on the men's side of things. But it does anything but that, you have to literally wait until halfway or somewhere around here for this match slot to kick into another gear, I mean we even have Corey Graves basically pointing out that there was no Kofi Kingston magic this year and there are no major surprises apart from Bron Breakker and let's be honest he was just a little surprise. I mean I am sorry but it is not meant to freshen things up, beginning feuds or/and progress them or you know just a little technicality that this year is a milestone for the biggest event in wrestling bar none WrestleMania 40. It's not like overnight this match could have a break out match for some individuals; to then use them and establish them for the present and future, basically this entire match slot was a missed opportunity and a complete waste of time as in everyone knew who was going to win, I know it is a predetermined sport, but it just felt like a decent percentage just phoned it in and yes I know I gave this match slot 5/10, I know I have mentioned this twice already but considering there is this milestone, you would think there would be a bit more electricity especially in this match to get on that card and don't even get me started on the R-Truth tag garbage; In conclusion it felt like a solid number were just going through the motions of this match slot, so that is why this match slot is in this series of content.

They had to go and blow it: well like I said in the first related content, I am paraphrasing here; I would put into other content [here] more of my outlook as it relates to this match slot. Well they finally did it; they finally made Roman Reigns look and feel like a champion once more after such a long time of just looking like a guy holding your top championship. Actually let's be honest it took your top three guys on the SmackDown side of things of Randy Orton, AJ Styles and LA Knight to give Reigns back his and via Reigns this championship prestige back as well, as I also referenced in the first related content this match slot was going to get given 10/10, but it only got given 4/10 and I made reference to or something to the effect of it should be lucky I don't take any more off.

But they just had to blow it; didn't they. Because Solo Sikoa make himself known and it was a very good thing I wasn't creating this content at that very moment, because I was furious, absolutely furious. Because they literally as I have already referenced in this content made Reigns look as good as he has ever been for years and not only that at the right time of year as well just at the beginning of WrestleMania season which is the perfect time for your current longest reigning champion to look golden. I know of the old expression “You can shine up a manure, but at the end of the day it is still manure" but between these four wrestlers, yes including Reigns; it was a win, win situation. I mean all they had to do was bring it home, Paul Heyman could have interfered somehow I don't know holding someone else's foot whilst having to take a punch of another wrestler to let go of another wrestler's foot, meanwhile Reigns hits the other with a running chair shot to pick up the retain.

But nope we had to have this Sikoa involvement and in a matter of seconds all this hard work, regalvanising for Reigns went out of the window; I mean we were almost there, we were in touching distance of so many positives such as for example me giving a Reigns match 10 out of 10, come on we were almost there and it blow up in our faces, the only sarcastically comical thing about this match slot is and was; was the fact that it took three of your main superstars on SmackDown to make your longest reigning champion looked like a champion and yet they [hierarchy/creative] still screwed it up. But at least it still keeps up the truth about that old expression of “You can shine up a manure, but at the end of the day it is still manure" and yes as you can guess I had no doubt that Reigns would retain here, so this part has been completely focused on how we got there and nothing more, which as you can tell I was not actually I was far from happy with.

Before I continue I am not defending Hulk Hogan; because I now believe him to be a fraud, but having said that in a wrestling sense, the sensationalism about the amount of days that Reigns currently standing at 1,250 days [slowly edging towards Hogan's 1,474 days with] just over 50 defences is a joke, hopefully when this garbage is over with they will bring back the 30 day defence clause, I don't care if you are a part timer or not or I don't care where you do it, but you must defend your championship every 30 days or you will be forced to relinquish it. I mean if they were to bring it back, I would add in to the fine print excluding acts of God [which means because of transport issues they had problems getting there which is completely reasonable.] That is why I don't acknowledge this championship run anymore or I haven't done for some time. As I referenced in the second related content having in a nutshell Michael Cole made reference to the chatter amongst wrestling fans about Reigns not defending his championship every couple of months is and was in on reflection in bad taste, because as I referenced it is predetermined, so all it essentially does is fuel the flames of disharmony, which I find be absolutely pointless.

In fact what I would find absolutely sarcastically comical is the WWE allowing Reigns to have the longest reign ever in history of this wrestling promotion on one hand, but on the other hand there will be this massive downer/discrepancy where people will point out he has less than 100 defences [when this content was first created] over his reign; so he can be titled as a literally a paper champion as in on paper it looks great, but he did the bare minimum over his reign to keep his championship run going.

Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/animal cruelty/drugs/terrorism/torture/shooting/stabbing/impaling/animal biting/suicide/breaking/burning/squashing/medical.

Broadly: Elly Conway/other name [Bryce Dallas Howard:] she is an author of spy series of books by the name of Argylle; she is now working on the fifth instalment of the series, one of her characters in her books is Wyatt [John Cena:] he is a muscle guy/Tech Support, before I move on I will just say I will discuss later on why I have put very little here in this section.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 139 minutes film is... is well and is going to come out and say it; really slow, tiresome and it felt like we were definitely going through the motions, they could have easily cut off 40 minutes to give this film some get up and go. But we do have a turning point and because of this turning point we actually get to see what this film is capable of [this is why I couldn't or I would struggle to keep things out of this storyline section of this content.]

Character developments and performances; before this turning point we get these generic character types and solid performances; I am trying to give these performances a little bit of leeway based on the framework and pacing; they really had to carry things to make this film work to a respectable standard. After the turning point; we get some very much needed not only a get up and go, but also substance and depth to his characters; but I have to be honest even though I appreciated it, I was also frustrated in the fact it took us this long to have these kinds of developments; but on the whole I would still have to say these character developments and performances were solid.

Action/Art/Comedy; yet again before the turning point we have this scene where it starts with Aidan Wilde [Sam Rockwell:] this individual has to keep Conway and her cat Alfie [Chip the Cat:] he is a grey and black cat that is on this journey as well in one of these pet rucksacks and he actually belongs to the Director of this film Matthew Vaughn and Claudia Schiffer [husband-and-wife.] But I digress; Alfie unfortunately gives away their position [underneath the floor boards] where this unit is looking for them, to take care of them, but Wilde jumps up through the floorboards and takes care of business, for those wrestling fans out there; towards the end of this sequence he performed a release german suplex being performed by Wilde; this is good. But after this turning point; we have is 2 action sequences in nearby one another; one involves creating this colourful smokescreen and the other involves these makeshift ice skates; I mean we get a bit of comedy in this film, but it isn't very funny, besides much earlier in the film Wilde basically asking Conway for her assistance to make sure that these individuals are dead she will have to stamp on their skulls; which she isn't too keen on doing. But back to where I was; these two major action sequences have the presentation of being action packed, artistically imaginative and creative sprinkled with a little bit of natural comedy.

This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed: I mean as I have already referenced in some capacity; this film does feel incredibly long and when it finally gets going it does have some good parts, but in hindsight this film became a chore to watch and there is one extra scene after the first credits.

Recommendation of: WWE Royal Rumble 2024 by AverageMansReviews -Spoiler Alarm!

Recommendation of: WWE Royal Rumble 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!

Warning/Disclaimer: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/blood/Adult language, anything I am about to say is based on fact, meaning if this didn't happen I wouldn't be discussing it and to keep up with the seriousness of their surroundings situation, I will keep it in this section. I want to know who thought it was a good idea in the first place to have Hulk Hogan be in a video package relatively near to the beginning of this event? Now including what has recently transpired with Mr. McMahon and these allegations, you would think someone would have the bright idea to withdraw this video package? Additional we have another Hogan appearance in yet another video but this time doing some advertising for St. Pete Clearwater Florida and then after that why not have him appear again for the third time in an advertising for 2K24 and just for the record I know, I know they have to satisfy their sponsors and all that, but still it is Hulk Hogan. As it has the odour of being tone deaf to have not one but two controversial figures recently be in the headlines or/and making an appearance in some fashion and not forgetting a video package talking about the numbers for the Royal Rumble, before our main event of the men's equivalent. I make reference to it being tone deaf, because it feels/gives off the impression of "Business as normal." I was like sucking air in between my teeth when I saw this and no I'm not being a snowflake, I am talking about from a PR/public image perspective, it just doesn't look good and it didn't really start off this event to well and finally in this section yes I know the results, let's just say I have been working on so much content and in one way or another there will be softer adult gestures or/and words which have been censored by me, but you still get what I am trying to say and I am not or ever likely to be a professional wrestler.

Women's Royal Rumble Match; 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match for a Women's Championship Match at WrestleMania XL/2024: Michael Cole makes reference to TNA and later they're not being 2 Royal Ramble winners in the match and this is another case of the WWE rewriting the history, all I am going to say is Cole go and look at 1994 and then controversially in 2000 [I know if I don't include the 2000 match/slot, I will be leaving myself open for people to come out and point this out to me, so there you are I have done it for you people already.] Then much later we have some idiot from the crowd aiming a comment at Nia Jax involving Bayley, Vickie Guerrero and her [yes I have hearing like a bat, but having said that I can't make fully out what this individual says, but you can tell when he shouted it out it isn't complimentary or let's just say at minimum anything to do with appropriate heckling or heel crowd response and even though I am not a fan of Jax; nobody deserves this] and he even gets a mention on commentary. But back to business and wrestling Jax's still can't wrestle as she can't even slam Piper Niven on to her usual tag team partner Chelsea Green and likewise this got referenced on commentary something like she didn't get all that. But Green is a big contributing factor to the mark I will assign this match slot based on her naturally looking comedy spots and this slot would be getting something less if it wasn't because of her and on top of that we have a male superstar involved in this match/match slot which I very much don't like at all; it is the womens time to shine so I am just highlighting again that Green makes a big impact in this slot for this match slot to receive what it receives. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.

Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles vs. LA Knight vs. Champ The Bloodline's Roman Reigns [with Paul Heyman;] Fatal Four-Way Match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: it is always good to see a Slim Jim's commercial [I know; due to this black cloud hanging over this promotion which I have already discussed previously we weren't possibly going to have any Slim Jim's involvement] and we even have the commentary team putting Slim Jim's over, in that kind of that apologetic/grovelling manner. Cole made reference to the elephant in the room; as I am paraphrasing but something to the effect of we love to hear the discussion about Roman Reigns only defending the championship every few months and to that I say beat him and Corey Graves agreeing with him and chipping in with people may complain and basically putting over Reigns. This is just so very, very stupid comment and it feels like a flying of the bird to those that don't like this and I am talking from the perspective of; so you want someone to beat Reigns? The reason why I have called this a very, very stupid comment; is because you know [I am referring to Cole here] you know this is scripted right? So you have put out a kayfabe question as this is isn't scripted, it just comes off really dumb and intentionally fuelling the flames of disharmony and that is something that this promotion doesn't need right now [and I don't care if it is Cole and Graves talking about this or if these lines are being fed through these headsets; my prospective is still very much valid.] Okay there are four competitors in this match so everyone gets 25% chance of winning this match, but someone on commentary makes this stupid point of Reigns should get 26% at some point; talk about Rick Steiner maths and even though I am relatively at the beginning of this match I am already getting fed up with the commentary team being up Reigns posterior. This is where I should point out in fairness and balance the commentary team actually spoke about the other three performers, including Reigns getting told he sucks and booing with a few giving the bird. Reigns delivers this back body drop and Styles takes a hard landing/bump on his shoulder/arm; that is what you need more of your top stars on the shelf WWE. Cole made reference to there being a lot of ones being shown; but you get a mixture of which one; between the first finger and the second if you look quickly and booing, I am sure Cole is and was trying to make lemonade out of some lemons here.

Okay I just heard a sound I didn't want to hear Styles delivered variety of a neck breaker to Knight, but it was Styles in pain, Cole picks up on this on commentary as well. I can't say too much here, I will have to put it in another series but all I can say is; this match slot was going to get 10/10, but instead it is going to get what it rightly deserves and be happy it doesn't get given anything less, then we have Graves saying something to the effect of Reigns is savouring every moment [but on reality it looks confused.] But the crowd gives us the this is awesome chant; I mean really you were booing not so long ago. I hope Styles is okay? I know it looked like a planned spot for him to basically go up and attempt to intercept Reigns with the phenomenal elbow, but instead he took the top rope right across at best the chest which is okay nice and safe or as safe as it can be and where it should be, or at worst somewhere around the neck, but he does continue the match. I really want to say more, but I really can't hear, so for now I will just stop talking and move on to the next match/match slot. This match/match slot receives: 4/10.

Kevin Owens vs. Champ Logan Paul; Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship: Cole makes a blooper but also corrects himself bringing out Owens has a broken arm, then after doing some sponsorship things, he says basically hand. Later on Paul goes over the top rope to deliver a clothesline of sorts to Owens, but Cole makes reference to it hitting Owens around the back of the head and I am like how? Can Paul stop using the buckshot lariat, it either doesn't go well or sloppy or it doesn't look right [full disclosure I don't see it fully this time as there is glitch, to update this they show the replay.] This match/match slot receives: 6/10.

Men's Royal Rumble Match; 30-Men Royal Rumble Match for a Men's Championship Match at WrestleMania XL/2024: likewise from Styles earlier taking this spot involving the ring ropes, I know Shinsuke Nakamura is okay but he takes a crossroads from Cody Rhodes threw the ring ropes; it does look okay I was just thinking I would bring this up just in case someone came back to me and said you didn't point this out and so on and so forth. We have Graves pointing out something to the effect of I was expecting at least some of that Kofi Kingston rumble magic, but it didn't turn out to be the case [I will tell you later why I have made note of this.] This Rumble Match takes forever to get going and when I say get going I mean literally halfway, on top of that we don't get any Kingston magic, giving an unnecessary spot to somebody and on top of that we have R-Truth; giving us his usual standard of shtick when he wants Dominik Mysterio into the actual Rumble Match, moving on we have another this is awesome chant, I beg to differ. But later on we have CM Punk using adult word which can be clearly heard for here I will just say the word is manure after he hits a well-established and well-known finisher. I have to be honest yes things did liven up roughly halfway through, but this match slot is very dull and it is very much a run-of-the-mill. This match/match slot receives: 5/10.

The average mark of this pay-per-view is: 5/10, Wow let's begin as a standalone wrestling event, as you can see it was adequate. But as this was to signify as it always is to begin WrestleMania season. This was absolutely manure; if this is the standard of things to come over at the very least maybe over two months, it is going to be long and incredibly boring. But at least I get to watch some quality wrestling next Sunday 04/02/2024 coming from NXT Vengeance Day.
