He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 9] Episode 61:
Pawns of the Game Master by AverageMansReviews
Review Time: this episode is very good to excellent.
Training/Action sequences: well there are many, they all have
something a little bit different to offer.
Comedy level: Cringer is very funny in this episode [his
comments are beautifully timed to be as I have already said very funny.]
Artistic visions: there is one sequence where we have
this evildoer doing some research on some characters from Eternia, sitting in
this chair with this control in his hand while looking at this monitor with
some clips of some characters abilities at the same time he is talking to
himself and discussing his options.
Ending message: in a nutshell winning or losing know how to do
either properly and by doing this; more people will want to play games with
you.
This episode receives: 77% approval, now you may have noticed
I was a little bit brief as it relates to the training or action sequences this
is because they are all good fun. But it does feel like this episode is
slightly rushing things, in fact before the ending message the ending to this
episode feels incredibly quick and almost sudden [it is one of those rare
occasions where a second part to this episode would have been a better option,
the fundamental core is moving so quickly with a great idea of where everything
is going that having roughly another 20 minutes to this adventure wouldn't really
be too difficult, that is how quick this episode is moving everything is moving
in or out at different points.
This is why this
episode receives this percentage, how can I put this; they had a great idea
with this episode, but they really did rush it in certain areas, by the time
the audience thinks there's more to this episode [there should have been] it
quickly gets rounded up and that's that.
