Real Talking Time:

Warning: there will be adult language references, censored adult language references in one way or another.

My reaction: just for a little bit of background I watched the 76 seconds version; it looks great, highly engageable, impactful and providing the cast from now until the release of this movie don't do anything to bring this movie into disrepute, they could have a smash hit on their hands.

But there is one gigantic Krypton destroying problem and to be brutally honest it is fudgin' stupidity from DC, they did it once in Justice League 2017: where they had all of these well-known characters at different stages of their development, which providing you don't push too far ahead if or when they choose to do some crossover projects and done correctly you should have in theory and then execution you should have some at minimum positive on-screen chemistry, but if it is not done correctly as a prime example of this would be the already mentioned Justice League 2017 [I discuss this more in the related content] and yes I know they are from two different worlds/interpretations, but that is my entire point.

Be it the Zack Snyder [edited version, as of this content being first created I haven't seen the extended interpretation of this crossover,] or the James Gunn interpretation we are seemingly heading down the same rabbit hole, so what was the fudgin' point of restarting the DCEU then if we are just heading very much in the same direction?

Because without a shadow of doubt even though it was just 76 seconds of a trailer I can already tell that Kara Zor-El/Supergirl is light years ahead of her cousin as it relates to her character developments, presence and performance which is going to be incredibly jarring based on current experience and knowledge if she has a long back and forth with Kal-El/Clark Kent/ Superman as they have done a fantastic job making him in essence lookalike and sound like a self entitled, virtual signalling dork, whiny, little female doggie, as she clearly knows who she is and what needs to be done with the vibe of a rock chick, bad girl which there are multiple signs, but nothing more echoes this sentiment than the release date of this movie 26/06/2026 and if you can't see the connection allow me to help you 666 a sign of the devil, I know she is meant to be the older one any way out of the two, but man there is a gap which is more than okay and light years; in essence she has been pushed too far ahead and this isn't on Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, it just makes David Corenswet as Kal-El /Clark Kent/ Superman look and feel somewhat worse and they have given her someone good to push against in her first outing in the form of Jason Momoa as Lobo: full disclosure I will have to do some homework on this character known as Lobo, because I don't know anything about him, yes believe it or not there are some elements of the DCEU and MCU I even though no nothing about or know very little about, but I have plenty of time to do some homework nonetheless, but it still feels right anyway.

So if I had to predict a mark based on this trailer I would feel comfortable suggesting let's give it an 8/10 and hopefully it achieves more.
