Warning/just a heads up: there will be censored adult language references at one point or another; I will be doing this content slightly differently than usual, because minus about 10 minutes where it showed some kind of hope on all levels, for the rest of this 138 minute film it is just manure on top of more manure

Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/disfigurement/shooting/burning/animal cruelty/body parts/drowning/impaling/references to immigration, hanging, underage, sexual assault and incest.

This is one of the worst films I have ever seen: Generally speaking; there is no point actually wasting your money and time on this piece of manure. It tries to be so clever being set down in the outlay of social politics and potentially what we are heading to as a society, but using something like the character developments of Romeo & Juliet from the perspective of Cesar Catilina [Adam Driver:] he is an architect trying to build this new world, he is all so the Chairman of Design Authority of this place known as New Rome, he also has the ability to stop and start time and very much comes across as someone like Elon Musk. Eventually he and this woman fall in love Julia Cicero [Nathalie Emmanuel:] she is the daughter of the Mayer at this location Mayor Cicero [Giancarlo Esposito:] basically he is the enemy of Catilina and I think at some point he uses his daughter as a pawn, I'm not sure actually if you want me to be honest; I don't care.

The entire framework and pacing is frankly so, so ugly; for like I said earlier later on we may have 10 minutes where it shows some life and fluency, but for the rest of it. You can't just sit down and watch this film smoothly just get on with things, it is tedious, hard work and consequently; this is most definitely one of those rare occasions where; you start to question every life choice you ever made leading up to this point which made you want to sit in a cinema and watch this diarrhoea in the first place.

Character developments and performances; I mean other than what I have already said about them, what do you want me to say? The character developments are what they are and they serve their purpose and for the performances well considering this film is a complete manure show; most of them made the best of what they were given; okay, okay if you want me to put on some fingers be it positive or negative or solid; Aubrey Plaza as Wow Platinum: a TV presenter financial analyst and Emmanue; they make their performances three-dimensional as in well-rounded. Laurence Fishburne as voice their narrator/Fundi Romaine: Catilina's assistant many duties including but not limited to his driver and Esposito; you know what you get with these two performers consistently dependable at minimum solid performances or higher. Driver I have to be honest this performance is hard work to watch, because I do understand he is meant to be this really intelligent intellectual person which could also isolate him and to compound fact that one point or another it does point out, he isn't very good with the emotional side of things, so I am just going to say it again I get it, but now at the same time; it does feel like he goes on and on a bit too much and some of his dialogue/monologue or/and voice I think if my memory is correct, but apologies either way; sometimes he speaks as if he is in a theatre production; which on top of the other issues that this project has; it's like eventually this becomes very tedious, you know you have one of those friends that is very articulate and once you start them off; once in a while it is okay to hear them go off, but if you do it again and again; you know you have about maybe 5 minutes to basically go and get a drink and some food and then come back and they will still be talking; that is how I can easily sum up this performance. Let me put it this way I don't know where Driver goes from here as he is project opportunities, because this film is stinking up the box office; currently but obviously subject to change [but I don't think it is going to change that much] box office takings are currently over just $5 million, from a budget of a very large $120 million and after a little bit of research; this is the second film in a row that Driver has been in a leading position; Ferrari 2023 where the project is/has flopped from a budget of 95 million recouping just over $43 million. I mean I have to go all the way back to 65 2003 for a indication of financial success from $45 million budget at the box office it took well over $60 million where I should add yes he was in a leading position [and if there are some people out there in Internet land putting the global pandemic down as a potential issue I would say this is a variable yes, but then again I just deal with facts.] Shia LaBeouf as Clodio Pulcher, Cesar's jealous cousin: all I have to say it really is; Shia LaBeouf as Shia LaBeouf enough said here.

Art; it is ugly more than beautifully engaging; the stops in time and all that is/are an excellent example of what this film is capable of including the scenery and wardrobe. But the quick or/and the mash of things and the half skull stuff just ugly and I should clarify I am from the alternative lifestyle so skulls are a representation of that so I don't mind skulls, but this particular one is just ugly from an artistic perspective the whole lot just no [you will get to that point in this film where you will understand this point.]

This film receives: 1/10, this film is poor; usually I tried to see some positives in a film title which, I clearly have in this content. But trust me when I say; they are not worth paying a ticket price and watching this 138 minutes film to find them/to experience them on the big screen. But somehow this film has when this content was first created it has 1 positive award to its name Cannes Film Festival 2024 Palme d'Or Francis Ford Coppola. I fully expect this title to get easily an avalanche of negative awards accredited to it at minimum.
