The Marine 5: Battleground 2017 by AverageMansReviews

The Marine 5: Battleground 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there is colourful effects/flashing effects/medical procedures/shoot in the heads/breaking of necks/repeat stabbing.

Storyline: it is something safe and reliable; but the pacing is dull, I mean yes later on things do get quicker but you still have that air of dullness to this film.

Action/Art: we have a life-threatening rescue sequence as Carter/The Miz' Mizanin goes in to this unstable situation as this vehicle has basically been squashed by this falling building material, consequently this vehicle is half in this large crater; with this weakening remaining chain holding up the rest of the building material of this type of crane [this seems like a good time to point out the character/performer he is attempting to rescue her name is Ana/Mrs. Mizanin/WWE's Maryse] or some time later we have Carter/The Miz' Mizanin doing combat on the top/outside of this lift with this biker character/performer [involving a weapon at one point or another; two different weapons]  yes for everything else there are weapons being used, combat and chasing.

Moving on to the art we have this bike ride with this biker from close up angles and perspectives [this is the opening to this project,] this Fun Fair at night there doesn't seem to be many lights on here from this perspective, it is in the first quarter of this film; it is where Carter/The Miz' Mizanin is looking up at it and talking about this location [we the viewers get to see this as well momentarily from Carter/The Miz' Mizanin's line of sight] whilst Williams/Van Hooft is driving the ambulance and discussing it with Carter/The Miz' Mizanin on their way to another emergency, then we have later on at this Fun Fair with some lights on and later on more lights on, towards the end of the film we have these skies with clouds in the sky or reflecting images of this building [because this building has been designed with see through features like doors and windows, so you will get reflections on them;] the art is the biggest asset to this project by some distance.

Characters/Performances: including the on-screen chemistry; these character developments, performances and on-screen chemistry are pretty much all generic and their on-screen chemistry is as flat as a pancake, minus between this trio and in different pairings Carter/'The Miz' Mizanin, Williams/Van Hooft and Cole/Mitchell, but to put a balanced perspective across there is enough here to say "Because of the pacing being what it is; it could also be said that the pacing leaves these characters/performers high and dry with trying to build some on-screen chemistry."

I am not trying to reflect anything away from these characters/performers; in short all I am saying is there is plenty of blame to go around here that is for sure; basically take your pick or both it is up to you; for me it would have to be both to be fair.

This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; in theory yes the storyline is something safe and reliable, but it could have been executed much better with a quicker; much quicker pacing which could have had a knock on effect to the characters/performances/on-screen chemistry so it would have been good film. One last thing this film is also starring WWE Superstars Heath Slater as Cash, Naomi as Murphy, Curtis Axel as Deacon and Bo Dallas as Alonzo.

The Marine 4: Moving Target 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there is colourful effects/flashing effects/breaking of body parts/hanging/cutting of neck

Storyline: let's begin at the very beginning this intro is just all tacky, I just didn't like it; it is just a mesh of garbage; I am of the alternative music genres so of what I remember it was okay, but what I have said in its entirety it is just a mesh of garbage [on a quick side note; I have never hidden the fact I am dyslexic, but after one attempt of rewinding the text on the screen I gave up generally speaking it is off average sized text, but quick.]

But now on to the storyline it is good; it is something safe and reliable but still good nonetheless, the pacing can almost be seen in the same light as well, but for one thing; they sometimes use this white flashing effect when vehicles are being driven/moving [so it basically looks like this vehicles moving, white flash, vehicles moving and white flash; this is cheap and tacky and something this film doesn't need.

Art/Action: these two components go hand-in-hand in this film be it around this safe house or forest later on in this film.

Art; individually more often than not it is in this project in some capacity for one massive example; the viewers have the four stages of a day in the sky in a basic description; Day blue skies white clouds, evening this light brown muddy dusk with the trees and so on blacked out [I am just describing this scene I know it is because it is dark,] night dark blue sky so everything shows more prominent on it; but around this full moon the sky is lighter, because the moon is giving off its own light, white clouds and early-morning strong bright sun rising that wakes up the clouds with this gray colour system in them with once again these trees blacked out.

Action; individually for one example [because I have already referenced two locations of action,] there is this Police Station and let's just say it is a chaotic sequence of events and when this Police Station gets refurbished there will be plenty of vacant positions.

Characters/Performances: they are all likewise something safe and reliable including the on-screen chemistry as well, but to be a little bit more specific now; the on-screen chemistry via these character developments as it relates to  Carter/'The Miz' Mizanin and Tanis/Roxburgh is firstly all good, but secondly I just have to point out that I can see what they have done here; by using old but stood the test of time the formula of two characters; one just trying to do his job and the other she doesn't trust him and everything that comes with that but eventually there is trust there and they part on good terms.

This film receives: 8/10; this film is excellent; minus the bits I didn't like about this film, it is difficult to give it anything less than this mark, because this project knows what it is and how it is going to get there, the artistic visions and the action sequences are either eye-catching or have a good variety in them and one final thing yes WWE's Summer Rae is in this film as well as Rachel Dawes.

In-depth Predictions/Other elements for WWE Payback 2020 by AverageMansReviews

In-depth Predictions/Other elements for WWE Payback 2020 by AverageMansReviews

Just a quick heads up: the matches are probably going to be in the wrong order, but considering we only may have an idea of the Card the day before this pay-per-view I am going to start now four days away, because believe it or not I have a lot to say and I will leave a link to The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 26 at the bottom of this blog, because I have put some components in there as well.

The Riott Squad vs. The IIconics: my pick is The IIconics; I really don't care about this match, as far as I'm concerned this is just a waste of time and everybody's talent, everyone talks about the Women's Revolution, then what is this? Oh yes I have just remembered having for individuals that the hierarchy have nothing better for them to do so from this aspect they are just being treated as the men; well I guess that would be a step in the right direction for equality then. I mean all they are going to do is tease or do another break-up for The Riott Squad but the thing is they haven't been back together that long in the first place this is just lazy booking; I mean they couldn't even be bothered to put the stipulation of a No1 Contenders for the Woman's Tag Team Championship Match for the next WWE pay-per-view, I mean seriously it has just taken me a couple of minutes whilst dictating this to work out medium-term booking plans, but once again I have just remembered you have to entertain a 75-year-old senile individual that has no concept of the modern world before everyone else and people wonder why I have patients and a lot more time for AEW, in short I'm sick and tired of the WWE as a whole, minus NXT.

Big E vs. Sheamus: my pick is Big E; simply because they have been pushing him and don't be too surprised if you see RETRIBUTION to take care of Big E; RETRIBUTION they are a joke so whomever they are as real characters/performers; good luck trying to change the reputation and image of the gimmick of RETRIBUTION you are going to need it.

Dominik & Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins & Murphy: my pick is Seth Rollins & Murphy; yes I have chosen these two based on the grounds I am thinking like the hierarchy of this company, but if they want to give specifically Dominik a solid base to work from both Ray and Dominik need to pick up the W. here; please WWE think medium term [as everyone should know this company are incapable of doing long-term booking on the Red and Blue Brands, so I will take medium-term booking;] instead of short-term Rollins & Murphy could take the loss here; it really wouldn't harm them and this feud of what I have heard, seen and think this feud is a little bit one sided, so to freshen things up a bit give the Mysterios the W. here, but they won't.

Matt Riddle vs. King Corbin: my pick is Matt Riddle; I had to pick someone so there we are.

Bobby Lashley vs. the United States Champion Apollo Crews: my pick is Apollo Crews; I see the WWE is still doing this garbage like the arm wrestling thing on this week's Raw [Monday 24/08/2020] of course that will get the TV ratings consistently up; Not!

If Lashley somehow loses I can't take the trio [at this point] known as The Hurt Business seriously anywhere be it on Raw or Raw Underground, if it should happen you think I am being unfair I will give you three excellent reasons to why this trio should be used much better than what they are right now; MVP, Lashley and Benjamin; you can't have these quality characters/performers continuously come up short, the long-term effects are quite simply this; sooner or later you're audience will not buy them as a real threat, so I think this company have now backed themselves into a corner, where any outcome they don't have any follow-up plans with substance or to make you get invested so we will just see Benjamin vs. the United States Champion Crews at the following pay-per-view, probably on the Kickoff Show; this is very depressing to see all these characters/performers and the United States Championship getting devalued like this.

Keith Lee vs. Randy Orton: my pick is Keith Lee; once again please WWE focus on this match, because I hope I am wrong here but I just have this feeling that this match is going to be remembered for the storyline going on around it as McIntyre getting involved to cost Orton this match; just let Lee have a good match with Orton then have McIntyre run down after the match to continue this feud with Orton; hell with Lee picking up the W. he can join this feud as well.

Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax vs. the Women's Tag Team Champions Bayley & Sasha Banks: my pick is Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax; in short to begin the feud between Banks and Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship.

Roman Reigns vs. “The Monster” Braun Strowman vs. the Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt No Holds Barred Triple Threat Match: my pick is Roman Reigns; I don't know how long I can keep calm about this entire situation, because I am absolutely beyond fuming; I hate this so, so, so, so much.

This is so short-sighted of Mr. McMahon he is an idiot [see I told you I am beyond fuming,] they have backed themselves into a corner and yes I don't care if I have mentioned any of this in The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 26, so let's get this right thanks to any version of Bray Wyatt he has successfully rebuilt Strowman into “The Monster” Strowman and we now have a Sister Abigail in Alexa Bliss [I wouldn't have gone this way but it has been established so I am willing to give it a go,] everything seems to be going well.

But wait here comes Reigns [I don't blame him for this; I blame Mr. McMahon;] he [Mr. McMahon] will now destroy three characters/performers hard work in a matter of one night, having “The Monster” Stroman lose two big matches; two Universal Championship matches is not a good start for a evolution of a character, having Sister Abigail/Bliss potentially not there again [like she wasn't at WWE SummerSlam 2020] is also not a good start basically use her or don't use her, unless Alexa Bliss is unknowingly to me has an injury or anything other she should be in the ring doing something, she is too good to be sitting on the sidelines.

Here is the biggest sin of them all; having “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt as a transitional Champion, these words should never, ever, ever never ever be associated with a character/characters/performer like Bray Wyatt.

I mean how many more times does he have to rebuild his characters of any creation, I mean ask any long-term every day wrestling person they will tell you something to this effect "Eventually these creative missteps if there are enough of them they do take their toll on the character in question, regardless how many times they rebuild, so eventually your audience will not buy them as a credible threat." Not forgetting the words "A transitional Champion doesn't wash away."

I mean even with the stipulation being No Holds Barred Triple Threat Match it doesn't protect anyone from the loss; they could have had a Triple Threat [of the following] Ladders Match, Last Man Standing Match or First Blood Match, I would prefer the First Blood Match [where two components have to bleed.]

Because it protects everybody from the loss it could have done excellent character developments for everyone involved consequently made them look strong [yes unfortunately if Mr. McMahon wants to put the Universal Championship on Reigns this still means “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt will be a transitional Champion, but hopefully with the character building in this match it doesn't harm him so much as in he had to find a new level of darkness and it would be really helpful if Sister Abigail/Bliss made her presence felt as well.

Yes I'm trying to put a positive spin on what they could have done/should have done if Mr. McMahon is that desperate to put the Universal Championship on Reigns straightaway on his return to in-ring competition; one final thing if they have plans for Reigns to go super Heel and turn on everyone including their fan base; it will sink like the Titanic, even before you think about it WWE please don't exploit his leukemia again; that was in very bad taste the first time around; just go with what it says on his new merchandise/T-shirt design "Wreck Everyone & Leave"

Additional; now Reigns is a Paul Heyman guy; I really, really can't see him losing at this pay-per-view. I mean before this I couldn't see it anyway but thank you for being really 100% transparent on this WWE and putting every other character/performer before this situation/feud continuing here under the bus; yes in fairness and balance I am sure we will get some good work from Reigns and Heyman, but my point remains to get to this point they had to flush a lot of hard work character building or rebuilding down the toilet between three performers, multiple characters, storyline/feud to get here and yes I am still beyond fuming the only thing that is preventing me from letting rip is many moons ago I decided not to use any adult language in my blog, but I have my ways around this slightly so I will finish by saying this whole situation is massive piles of donkey diarrhea really.

Review Time

Warning: there is colourful effects/flashing effects/decapitation/breaking of body parts/choking/medical elements

Storyline: in theory it should have been good, but because of the pacing of this project it is something dull; it feels like it never gets out of neutral even when this project looks as if it has some pace to it; it still comes over as dull.

Action/Art: the viewers have Kristoff/Jean-Claude Van Damme hanging on the side of this moving train listening in to Cole/Arana and then being pulled up by Konstantin/Harring; this henchman finds them on top of the train, Konstantin/Harring says behind us. Kristoff/Jean-Claude Van Damme turns to [he does this falling down turn to take her down with him to protect her from any bullets they are going to hit him first] and shoot this henchman dead, consequently giving their location away; they get up and they are running as they are being shot from underneath by two henchman. Yes we have a heist sequence at the beginning of the film [with the opening credits; this is tacky] another heist element at the end of this film, weapons being used, combat and chasing. Moving on to the art this is the best component to this project by miles and miles this train which all these characters/performers I have discussed in this paragraph are on or this bridge with or without this train and these scenes with the sun.

Comedy: there are little elements in the dialogue exchanges

Characters/Performances: including the on screen chemistry everything about these is generic.

This film receives: 1/10, this film is poor; what can I say here; I really lost interest in this film

The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 26 by AverageMansReview

The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 26 by AverageMansReview

Warning: at some point I will be discussing #SpeakingOut.

WWE: let's get down to business straight away; so how come everyone can see Sasha Banks as the real deal, but so far on the Main Rosters she has never had a successful individual Championship defence? It is getting beyond a joke now; she should be seen as one of your top performers in your company, yes I see her as one of the top performers but her Championship defines record really does undermine that.

I can tell you right now Banks is taking the pin on Sunday at WWE Payback 2020, to break up Banks and Bayley to begin a feud over the SmackDown Women's Championship to give the Tag Team Championships to Shayna Baszler [which she hasn't been used at all properly since someone changed their mind on her; isn't that right Mr. McMahon and Calamity Jane [Oh I'm sorry I was meant to say Nia Jax it was a slip of the tongue; even though after coming back after doing some research/watching the same material from later on in this blog; these two characters are having problems Jax has had words and later on attacked Baszler; this is going to be The Bar all over again isn't it where Cesaro and Sheamus were feuding and then became a tag team and yes they became a good tag team, but I don't see Jax and Baszler getting to that point it is just going to be them not getting along and doing these kind of one-upsmanship and those kind of things, if they get this far which I don't see it.]

Next what is the point of having Andrade & Angel Garza as a tag team when they can't stop losing to the Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits in any form, so this very one sided feud is just a waste of time for everyone involved.

Next so we are just going to feed “The Monster” Braun Strowman and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to Roman Reigns then? Well all that character rebuilding for Stroman, the character building for “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss as Sister Abigail was and is a complete waste of time then [as it relates to the character Sister Abigail; this company has really screwed up on this character either use her in some capacity or not, basically go all in or all out end of story.]

Now before I continue I should just point out as things stand this is speculation and a prediction; now I hope I am wrong but I know this company's playbook to well and if the WWE will do these two things I will be beyond fuming; the first is to turn Reigns super Heel, by him turning against the WWE fan base possibly bringing up them never being there or liking him or possibly bringing up his personal health situation [can we please stay away from all of this] and just go with the narrative with whilst he has been away, he has been watching and he is far from impressed with what he has seen so he has decided to come back to "Wreck Everyone & Leave" please WWE do a projecting in the ring Heel and not an inner and outer projecting Heel [something like from the realm of the current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley should be fine and what is needed in these current times just a couple of notches angrier or frustrated.]

The second thing is unfortunately much more realistic scratch that inevitable “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt having the label "A transitional champion" connected to this in-depth character/characters as at WWE Payback 2020 I can see him dropping the Universal Championship to Reigns. This is absolutely garbage booking you had to book yourself into a corner didn't you WWE, you couldn't just let “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt have one Universal Championship defense [please book it for this upcoming SmackDown, just so he doesn't have this label attached to this character/characters] and as I have just said it makes all this character rebuilding or character developments a waste of time if they are just going to feed them to Reigns on his pay-per-view return to the ring and yes I know  Reigns was going to get the Universal Championship back, but I would have gone for the pay-per-view after WWE Payback 2020, just so that everything looks and feels much more smoother, “The Fiend” gets a Universal Championship defence and the WWE get to put this Championship on Reigns. But in reality it looks predictable, panic for TV ratings and as I have already said a small amount of times it makes everything that was before this situation a waste of time.

In short; it looks like Shane McMahon wasn't/isn't going to be taking over from Bruce Prichard as in control of Raw.

#SpeakingOut Well it is all happening in the WWEThunderDome, when you think this company cannot look any more worse than what they do they keep surprising everybody; so they ban a fan from WWEThunderDome for holding up a sign that says "Fire Velveteen Dream. Now correct me if I am wrong this is coming from the company that says something to the effect of "you have spent your hard-earned money; you have the right to cheer and boo anyone you like; because without you we wouldn't be here."

I'm sorry that this sign and its clean message doesn't fall into the narrative you're trying to spin, your country [USA] preaches "freedom of speech” you actively encourage it in normal world situations, this person and I have no idea who this person is but they have done nothing wrong, but the WWE have lost all moral high ground based on their history as a whole; just for one example taking Middle Eastern money knowing of a real life despicable act has taken place and still willingly gone over there on that occasion and not do the responsible/public image thing of at least pulling out of that show; to show that "We will come over there and fulfil our contract but not on this occasion, because it wouldn't be the right thing to do at this time."

I mean when I first said a bit about Velveteen Dream in my previous Volume I was really trying to be careful on what I said, not to protect him but it was more to do with it being safe for any age to read [just in case if you're wondering if I softballed this] and I continue to make this clean and safe for anyone to read but at the same time with this situation; how can the WWE allow him to continue his career under the WWE umbrella, but then punish a fan for holding up a clean sign? It makes no sense; now if there were adult words in this message; that I could understand, I am still not protecting Dream I'm just saying being balanced that would give them course to ban this individual and I have just spent 2 seconds thinking about this; as far as I can see it; whilst Velveteen Dream remains under the WWE umbrella it makes the Woman's Revolution more and more, incredibly more as just a publicity stunt, because how can they promote the Women's Revolution or anything positive on one hand whilst on the other hand they are not dealing with this situation properly in any way shape or form [case in point banning a fan for holding up their sign;] this company desperately needs to get the public image sorted out, you cannot be about equality all that in public, whilst behind the scenes are archaic and sweep something under the carpet when it suits you [but hold on I just realized this is what they have been doing for years so they aren't going to change until someone steps down or leaves or dies in Mr. McMahon and even then it will take time to move on or change or repair the damage if at all he has coursed.]

But after doing some research/watching someone else's material; I also found out that some people have been acting highly inappropriately as well, so these people should be rightly banned for their highly inappropriate behaviour by the WWE. I will back the WWE here. I have found out in the same material that Reigns is winning the Universal Championship on Sunday at WWE Payback 2020 [this is not a spoiler, this is a general thought that this will happen; I just wanted to clarify that.]

All Elite Wrestling: in comparison I don't have much to say here; for most parts minus some issues here and there which I have documented in the previous Volumes, they just have to keep things going. AEW All Out 2020 is very soon [Saturday 05/09/2020.] Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy Mimosa Mayhem Match this sounds like good fun.

I like how the AEW World Champion Jon Moxley put over his opponent MJF for this pay-per-view match at AEW All Out 2020 on this previous Saturday night's AEW: Dynamite [Saturday 22/08/2020] in his promo in short; basically saying he is the future but for now I'm just going to kick your posterior [may be the WWE should be taking tips here on how to build up new characters/performers.]

Now of what I have seen they should really sign Will Hobbs to a AEW contract [he took on Darby Allin; this past week on AEW: Dynamite,] there is lots of potential and talent there; he is a well-built individual AEW should really put him in a tag team with someone which is a high flyer so they pretty much have all the bases covered for a tag team attributes wise. I don't know anything about Hobbs, but with his potential and talent it looks like he just needs matches and screen time to develop.

The Exalted One Mr. Brodie Lee is the new AEW TNT Champion; now it is going to be very interesting to see what he can do with his persona and this Championship and reign, of what I remember I don't think we never got to see what WWE's Luke Harper could do with any Championship reign be it single or tag team with WWE's Eric Rowan or WWE's Randy Orton, so Mr. Brodie Lee take this opportunity and show everyone what you can do with a Championship and reign and it has to be said if you can give/send Mr. McMahon the "Stone Cold" Steve Austin two fingers salute whilst you are doing it all good and well.

End Game 2006 by AverageMansReviews

End Game 2006 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there is colourful effects/flashing effects/medical procedures/man on fire.

Storyline: it is good; but there is an unnecessary question mark style ending at the end of this film, where without giving too much away we have Crawford/Harmon saying something to the effect of "I will find out the truth." You'll find out why this is an unnecessary question-mark style ending, I mean in fairness and balance I get it but it still comes over as unnecessary and on reflection a bit annoying; that is all I can say about that and moving on to the pacing it does get better the more you watch of this film.

Action/Art: these two components go hand-in-hand; in these underwater sequences; they are good action sequences and from an artistic perspective they are eye-catching.

Action; individually  there are weapons being used, chasing and just for one example we Thomas/Gooding Jr. and Crawford/Harmon taking a nice little trip down the side of a mountain in their vehicle to catch up to Baldwin/Greene in his vehicle consequently hitting his vehicle and send it tumbling.

Art; individually here are just two examples we have this very small number of scenes of the sky as the day is coming to a close with the effects of the sun setting and this colour system to reflect that [I am just talking about the sky.]

This pier [outside Thomas's/Gooding Jr. house and where he keeps his boat,] but these light bulbs that will light your way; they are okay by day but much better by night; as they make this place look welcoming and peaceful.

Characters/Performances: including the on-screen chemistry they are what they are and it is solid [just to cover my back; yes once again without giving too much away I couldn't see the end coming,]

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; this mark is a true reflection of this film.

The Marine 3: Homefront 2013 by AverageMansReviews

The Marine 3: Homefront 2013 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there is colourful effects/flashing effects/attempted sexual assault element

Storyline: where do I start; the storyline taking until the 27th minute to get started even though in theory this storyline should have been something safe and reliable, but things do get left on a question-mark of what happened next?; the pacing is really slow, even when this film gets going it has this ability to look and feel really slow, I mean the only time this project feels like it is moving better is when we have Sgt. Jake Carter/'The Miz' Mizanin driving this Sheriff Police vehicle right towards the end of the film.

Action/Art: we do get some elements later on in this film where these two components work hand-in-hand, they start when we have this SWAT team [just to cover my back I am not sure if they are SWAT but this is what they look like to me so I could be wrong;] taking on these terrorists on this dilapidated old ferry boat the camera shots are from the perspective of first-person shooter or later on in another sequence of events from behind the character/performer in question's back over the shoulder.

Action; individually now we do get Marine training and missions, weapons being used, combat and chasing.

Art; individually here are just one or two elements for you to look out for; there is this ferry boat coming into this scene on the water and you have this train with trailers coupled to it.

Characters/Performances: the character developments, the performances and the on-screen chemistry now once again in theory these should have been likewise something safe and reliable; but in reality there is only one that really stands out for me and that is Jonah Pope/Neal McDonough; he takes these character developments and runs with them creating genuine-on screen chemistry; the terrorists characters/performers that work under him are what you expect them to be, consequently they bring the on-screen chemistry that reflects that also. But for everyone else yes they character developments are straightforward, but their on-screen chemistry is as flat as a pancake and lifeless.

This film receives: 2/10, this film is poor; so let's try to leave this review on a positive if there are any fans of Neal McDonough out there in Internet land; he does a lot for this project so take a look at this film but as you can probably tell by now don't expect too much.

The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 25 by AverageMansReview

The Building of: WWE vs. All Elite Wrestling Volume 25 by AverageMansReview

Warning: at some points in this blog I will be discussing the #SpeakingOut movement on both sides of this divide

WWE: first things first just to cover my back; now I had made a tiny mistake as it relates to Mr. McMahon's age in the previous Volume, I have just now changed it, but if it should happen I have done it again somewhere else I apologize for any inconvenience; when this blog was being first dictated he is 74 years old but soon-to-be 75 years old.

So I will begin with #SpeakingOut I have to ask WWE what the hell are you doing with Velveteen Dream? He should be absolutely nowhere around a wrestling ring or TV programming until this alleged extremely inappropriate behaviour situation or situations has been resolved 100% either way [before I get any complaints, I am using the English I am using, so when this goes up I know it is safe for everyone of any age to read and it shows I am being unbiased here, but now I've said that I can say; it looks far from good for Velveteen Dream.]

I can understand why some of the WWE performers are far from happy with Dream's preferential treatment with this cloud hanging over him, because of his backstage behavior being a problem the belief is; if it was anyone else they would have been fired by now but from Triple H. saying something to the effect of; we took him off screen due to his car accident and not these allegations, we couldn't find anything; for what we were looking for in these allegations, but if there is something there; we'll take a serious look into it. [I should point out my version is just a short version.] The people that have alleged these allegations have come forward and said they haven't been contacted by the WWE..

All I have left to say on this subject is; for me as an outsider this just sounds and looks like another completely mismanaged situation.

Moving on; so Shane McMahon is going to be in creative control of Raw what fun that will be; Not! As Bruce Prichard is looking to offload some of his workload which to be fair to Prichard he isn't young as of this blog he is 57 years old, but I predict the same old stuff from Shane McMahon as if Prichard or Mr. McMahon was still in control of this Brand, because he is a similar mold a person, just a bit younger than Prichard being in his early 50's and I see the PG-13 Era is gone; now welcome TV 14 [this basically means content for this age range and parents are unlikely to let children watch,] so when if this company going to learn it isn't about the material, it is about putting on a consistent quality programming that people will watch or at minimum series-link it.

I know some people out there are going to hate what I'm going to say next; I mean all the WWE has to do is look at AEW from the perspective of the programming is structured, they advertise it and 9 times out of 10 they give it, unless there is an unforeseen issue or we are in the circumstances we are in, but I have just realized I am asking the WWE to do something which is straightforward and in theory it should be easy to put out structured programming, but the WWE have a reputation of constantly tearing up the scripts, so this is one of those rare occasions where I am going to be nice about this company; put in place short-term to medium term plans [baby steps first then long-term plans eventually] and stick by what you say when you say it or if you can't give them what you have advertise [the audience] the honest reason why it isn't happening and then the more you rebuild trust with your viewing audience, the more they will come back.

So what I am suggesting is; this company is heavily broken on many aspects, until they take an outside approach to something like I have just suggested in the previous paragraph it doesn't matter what programming you have on. For one massive example just have one normal Men's and Women's Tag Team Champions and have them go across your three Brands, it creates Two Divisions with depth and variety and then depending on how serious they want to take Raw Underground create a Men's and Women's Tornado Tag Division with Champions or if they wanted to get really creative they could do a mixed teams Division with Champions, but with one stipulation; once you are Champion you cannot leave here until you have been defeated [I think my normal tag team idea is much more realistic and long-term stable.]

Please WWE let this #WWEThunderDome and your viewing audiences get used to this organically, this could work and should work, just don't shove it down their necks, don't mention it every 5 seconds let things happen naturally [in short don't screw this up.]

RETRIBUTION are coming off as a joke, regardless if it is the real/characters/performers under their masks or not, as far as I'm concerned whomever is under their you represent the  RETRIBUTION brand/potential merchandise sales so let's try to make it look respectable and yes I have only seen a clip of them in action, but let's just say their reputation is; what reputation.

So the NXT head writer [Joe Belcastro] has left the WWE, even though I don't watch this Brand [just because I don't have access to it,] concerns me because since it turned into a serious third Brand it has nothing but glowing universal praise and I don't want that to change. Renée Young has also left this company on one hand this is very sad news, but on the other hand this is great news because her talents and skills were being wasted in this company and not forgetting when she contracted this global situation the WWE were not best pleased that she made it public knowledge, so hopefully see her somewhere soon that will appreciate her as a person, her talents and skills.

All Elite Wrestling: so on #SpeakingOut this time as it relates to Jimmy Havoc, I have to say I know this topic is not a good topic #SpeakingOut I greatly prefer this company's dealing with this situation, they issued a statement basically supporting him whilst he was seeking help [this is currently unknown if he seeked helped or not] and then they will address it and obviously now they have addressed it by letting him go. I am really disappointed that they decided to release Bea Priestley, I get the reason being travel restrictions because of this global situation, but still I am really disappointed and I get why AEW took this course of action as well and unfortunately once again because of the travel restrictions Sadie Gibbs was also released.

Finally Brandi Rhodes; what can I say? Before I continue I would like to state I am not getting on the bandwagon or her back, but from somebody that is the same age as her and incredibly street-smart coming back on to Twitter so soon after leaving the platform and making a big thing about it as well you're just not helping yourself here, in fact she is just asking for it [I do not condone any of the comments she has received.] I am specifically talking about the short incredibly short break from this platform. I would have given it a couple of months at least then acknowledge I am back on here after a breakaway; say something like "You can't keep a good woman down.“ put a line under the situation and move on; on Twitter; But she has left herself wide open for a negative backlash and given them ammunition as well.

In-depth Predictions/Other elements for WWE SummerSlam 2020 by AverageMansReviews

In-depth Predictions/Other elements for WWE SummerSlam 2020 by AverageMansReviews

Just a quick heads up:  I am dictating this six days away from this pay-per-view so these matches may be in the wrong order and this is speculation but to save time and a lot of effort the hierarchy of the WWE are probably going to recycle some of these matches/rematches at the next WWE pay-per-view WWE Payback which is on precisely a week after this pay-per-view [Sunday 30/08/2020,] I base my thinking on as I have already just said to save time but then again the losers at this pay-per-view are going to want to seek payback at WWE Payback 2020 [you see I think like the WWE it writes itself.]

Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville Hair vs. Hair Match: my pick is Sonya Deville; please WWE do something right for once and take this opportunity and run with it; turn her into a slimmer version of Brock Lesnar [minus his limited involvement contracts for lots of money,] but push her up the Card, eventually put the SmackDown Women's Championship on her.

Update stipulation changed; Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville
No Disqualification Loser Leaves WWE Match: in short because of the terrible personal real-life situation it looks like 99.9% sure [this is just speculation on my part] they are aiming to write her off-screen just so that she can take care of this situation and to take some time off.

Asuka vs. the SmackDown Champion Bayley: my pick is Bayley; in short for now because I will be bringing it up again shortly, Banks will be getting involved.

Asuka vs. the Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks: my pick is Sasha Banks; because Bayley will be getting involved. I don't know where to start; well it must be that time of year again where this company buries Asuka; losing twice on one night. But whilst they are burying Asuka, maybe they could find the SmackDown Women's Division in the same hole? This is just a suggestion; but you know if they are busy rewriting things time after time after time may be they could include the SmackDown Women's Division in some capacity other than a degrading capacity [SmackDown Karaoke Showdown] Women's Revolution my posterior.

In a normal situation I would be suggesting that Banks would be losing with Bayley screwing up somehow here; to set up a feud between Bayley vs. Banks for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at WWE Survivor Series 2020, but if this company has any common sense they would really slow, slow play this; until WWE Royal Rumble 2021, things picking up pace here heading into WrestleMania 37; yes I know this company doesn't do long-term booking, but because of this global situation and if they want the right payoff to this situation, I see no other option and this feud given the option should be on a wrestleMania stage anyway [on a quick side note yes I would prefer to turn Banks Face over Bayley; Bayley as a Face you cannot do much with based on her first very long run as a Face.

"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt vs.
the Universal Champion "The Monster" Braun Strowman
Falls Count Anywhere: my pick is "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt with interference from Alexa Bliss as Sister Abigail, I always had the feeling that they would do this Championship drop here so I'm going to stick with it. Additional now they have added this stipulation of Falls Count Anywhere, they have pretty much told us two things; the first is there is definitely going to be a new Champion here and secondly they did it to protect Stroman from the loss, I can't fault this strategy. But I would have preferred if they announced it on the night, just as a little bombshell or at the very least a little something we didn't see coming.

MVP vs. the United States Champion Apollo Crews: my pick is MVP; so the WWE want to continue building up Lashley, MVP and Benjamin so for that to happen why not give them the United States Championship to make them feel and look like the real deal. On one hand I get what is happening here, because they could do that consequently Crews could go through this metamorphosis as it relates to his character developments as in turn him Heel, but on the other hand I want to see the younger talent to get put over. I know I have contradicted myself, basically whatever decision they make here either go completely one way or the other, so don't have Crews lose here not to do something with the loss and the same can be said for if he wins. [Yes it is very true I have just copied and pasted this with a couple of additional words from WWE Extreme Rules 2020, because this match didn't take place here due to Crews not being passed fit on his pre-match physical.]

Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins Street Fight: my pick is Dominik Mysterio; as it is his in-ring debut with a helping hand from Ray Mysterio as he will be in Dominik's corner, which this wouldn't hurt Rollins and it conveniently sets up a rematch between Ray Mysterio for WWE Payback and I expect Rollins' disciples to get involved as well just in case you were thinking I forgot them whomever they are now; I know Buddy Murphy is one, but that is it.

Andrade & Angel Garza vs.
the Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits: my pick is The Street Profits; I know I don't watch WWE TV programming anymore but why are Andrade & Angel Garza still a team? Let me guess the only reason they are still a team is because the Raw Tag Team Division has as much depth to it as a young children's paddling pool, I should imagine this also goes for the SmackDown Tag Team Division and the Woman's Tag Team Division as well, this is the weakest match on the Card for me [even in or out of this global situation we know by many years of experience that this company doesn't care about tag team wrestling] I have just even had to go and remind myself who are the SmackDown Tag Team Champions are [Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.] But it has to be said Andrade should be much higher on the Card, wrestling for individual Championships and as it currently stands it looks like we will never get Cesaro or Shinsuke Nakamura as either a WWE or Universal Champion which is just a crime in itself, yes I want to see Andrade up and around this area of the Card wrestling for at least one of these major Championships, I mean if the WWE took tag team wrestling seriously, I wouldn't have a problem seeing these quality wrestlers wrestling for them like AEW, but as tag team wrestling within the WWE has became like "when we don't have anything else better for these two characters/performers to do let's just put them together in one of our three Tag Team Divisions which are a shambles."

Randy Orton vs. the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre: my pick is Randy Orton; now I can't take credit for this, someone has speculated that Orton is winning here from interference from Ric Flair, now once again this is just speculation; but this is one of those very rare occasions that the WWE may be doing long-term booking so in short they may take the WWE Championship off McIntyre now to hopefully give it back to him at WrestleMania 37 hopefully in front of a live crowd; I can't disagree with this speculation; it is sound and if this does turn out to be the case McIntyre deserves this and to give credit if it's true the WWE are trying to do what is right in this situation and then trying to replay the situation again to give it the live response it rightly deserves and at least Orton is a good pair of hands to drop this Championship to.

Universal Soldier II: Brothers in Arms 1998 by AverageMansReviews

Universal Soldier II: Brothers in Arms 1998 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time

Warning: there is colourful effects/flashing effects/medical procedures components/impaling/decapitation

Storyline: it is solid; the ending stages of the previous film [Universal Soldier 1992] has this recap of the final scene/re-shot with these performers in it instead of the original cast which you will see in the opening stages to this film and this sequel goes on from there, but other than that you know it knows what it is and sticks to the plan but it does leave things on a question-mark of what happens next? The pacing can be seen in the same light as well; it does this combination thing with the background music, where the background music gets used/played over these sequences to do this kind of how the viewers should be feeling thing, but instead it comes over as dating this film [as in this film is so from the 1990's.]

Action/Comedy/Art: now off the top of my head there is one scene where the action and the comedy go hand-in-hand; in a brief description because I don't want to give too much of the film away, it is where we have this mobile unit exploding with this opera music playing in the background, then we have the comedy and the art going hand-in-hand as well it is where we have this hitchhiker character playing this acoustic guitar singing with Luc Devreaux/GR44/Battaglia singing a little.

Yes individually in the action we have the usual weapons being used and combat and there are other elements of comedy which can be found in the dialogue exchanges.

Moving on to the art as an individual component; there are a small amount of good-looking skies and mountains with snow on in one scene and there is this wheatfield at this farm, but there is one scene which is so, so very ugly; it is where you have the Capitol building [Washington DC, USA] there isn't anything wrong with the building but the special effects sky is just as I have already said so, so ugly it sticks out like a sore thumb you won't be able to miss it; it will get your attention which is good, but also bad, because it will get your attention for the wrong reasons.

Characters/Performances: these character developments, performances and on-screen chemistry are generally speaking straightforward and they are what they are which is safe and reliable. But between Luc Devreaux/GR44/Battaglia and his older Brother Sgt. Eric Devreaux/GR5/Wincott there is a lot more brought to the table between this connection as it relates to chemistry, comedy and more importantly they pull this film out of the poor section of my marking system.

This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed: it is okay it fulfils its purpose from the perspective of it moves things along and it does follow the recipe of what an action/science-fiction film title should be like.
