Sniper 1993 by AverageMansReviews

Sniper 1993 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this project is good.

Fundamental elements: there is a word on screen, cultural elements, voice-over elements, no subtitles when another language is being used but there are interpreter elements or something to this effect, mental imagery, slow-motion effects, background music, time jumps and place jumps.

Action sequences/Comedy level: there are plenty of weapons being used, including some elements looking down the sight of a gun [which there is one sequence where these two characters send messages to one another,] this could be seen as a comedy element, there is one other element in this title which could also be seen as a comedy element. But these two elements I am speaking of are delivered and shown in this title to be serious at their centre.

Character developments/Performances: on both counts these two elements are why this film gets a good mark, the character developments/performances show one character to be psychologically programmed to complete their mission by any means, the psychological programming comes from spending too many years out in the field or a mixture between that or this way of life in any way shape or form, but on top of that it is clear to see that he cannot forget things, whilst the other character is not ready to deal with the psychological or physical or anything that he may have to deal with or experience or anything other that may come along throughout this mission.

This film receives: 7/10, generally speaking this film may indeed focus on this mission in question but at the same time the mental impact or experiences that these two characters individually have either previously experienced [before this film to make one character this way including whatever experiences he has in this project,] or as it relates to the other character experiences he has in this title to make him go this way [that is as much as I can tell you without giving too much away] but these character developments [let's be fair and the performances] have been given importance as well.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 6: Divide and Conquer by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 6: Divide and Conquer by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this is another excellent episode.

Storyline: without giving too much away there is a rare moment that Megatron and Starscream agree on something.

Artistic visions: in a nutshell Spike Witwicky takes and carries this Autobot's gun I think it was jazz's gun,] which he does use it, this gun looks a little bit big for Spike [I really do like the imagination used in these two elements and Spike tries to pick up Optimus Prime's Ion blaster in a very small element.]

Action sequences: Optimus Prime takes a heavy amount of damage in this episode and has this excellent one-on-one sequence with Megatron, but then again every time these two iconic characters fight it is high quality entertainment anyway.

This episode receives: 9/10, this episode has so much to offer its viewers, now and again there are occasions where I watch or re-watch episodes or projects again sometimes in bits and pieces or from beginning to end, because now and again I do get things wrong as a the wrong order of things or something like this.

The first or second time I watched this episode I came up with this mark 9 out of 10, but what stuck out much more for me the second time around was Chip Chase's speech about no one is truly disabled if he has courage or something to that effect, the first thing I want to point out is this; he shouldn't have said just he, the second thing is; in theory this is a good moral message element, but in reality it may be a different story and the final thing is this; I wasn't going to bring this up the first time around, let's be fair these episodes at the moment are a little bit full on which is good [I can't remember everything about these episodes, I guess that is what makes this TV program re-watchable time after time because generally speaking everything is off a very high quality and if you didn't or don't catch something the first time around, you may get it the second or third time around] and like I said I wasn't going to bring up everything about these episodes but this speech as I have previously said stuck out more.

If it should happen that some people out there in Internet land have an issue with what I have just said I would like to make two points; the first is this; I am more than qualified to have this opinion and my second point is this; this is just my opinion [but let's try to finish this review on a positive as you can see by my marking this episode is excellent.]

Machete 2010 by AverageMansReviews

Machete 2010 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title is excellent.

Fundamental elements: there are cultural elements, voice-over elements, mental imagery, background music, subtitles being used and there are occasions where no subtitles are being used, a word or words on screen, slow-motion effects and quick moving effects, time jumps and place jumps.

Action sequences/Artistic visions/Comedy level: I couldn't really split down these three elements to this project in different sections of this review, simply based on this fact they work off one another in this title.

The action sequences are high-octane action with many weapons being used, I should quickly point out, generally speaking where the artistic visions come from, they come from the visual nature of these action sequences [I have to be somewhat careful on what I say here,] because I don't know what age ranges are viewing my reviews and the same can be said for the comedy level as well.

But with all of that being said, I am going to try and point out one of each; so here we go first for the action sequence, I will call this sequence driving a police car; our lead role is driving this car from the backseat using this machete [that is as much as I can tell you.]

Next up is the artistic visions there are many [injuries or life changing injuries or deaths] and other things such as campaign advertisements and just in case I have forgotten something I will say other bits and pieces.

Now finally the comedy level; now the first thing I should say about this is the following; you are going to either find these elements funny or not, it is that cut and dry, I will call this sequence see our body elements have more than one use; in a nutshell our lead role takes this element from a bad guy and then runs through this window which it shatters and goes through another window which also shatters [that is as much as I can tell you, I am just trying to put out a review which is suitable or clean enough so I can leave it up safe in the knowledge, that there is nothing to colourful in this review or something like that.]

Performances: without splitting hairs too much they are good.

This film receives: 8/10, now taking everything into consideration this mark feels right, on a side note there is a pregnant female character that gets shot, I can handle it, but I think it is safe to say I get its purpose [it tells you a lot about this character that shoots this character in the stomach,] that basically he doesn't want these kinds of people here, but did he really have to shoot her in the stomach, he could have chosen somewhere else to get the same result. I am not making any excuses up, but I could be wrong about this sequence, I am just going on how this sequence looks, in my defence this sequence is by night [there is some light given to this sequence by this vehicle,] it is still by night though so if anything this is just a warning and to make sure I am being balanced in this review, this is the only thing I have spent a lot of time thinking about and one final thing everything I have said in this review is just based on this film and nothing more.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 5: Roll for It by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 5: Roll for It by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this is another excellent episode.

Artistic visions: there is this rainbow in the background of one scene, I was thinking I would just point this out because it just gives me something different to highlight in these reviews, it is very well-placed.

Action sequences: I will be discussing one sequence of events briefly, it is where this Autobot [Prowl's battle computer gets damaged] and he needs to link with another computer with some luck he links up with Chip Chase's computer [so Chip is in control of him] with that you can see Starscream and Soundwave on his monitor and Prowl is beginning to move and act like a new Prowl including landing on this fighter jet, apologies if I have gotten this wrong but more importantly Prowl/Chip breaks into this fighter jet and begins by pressing the start up procedure so he can make it into position and then pressing some more things using these missiles or something like these whilst still moving slowly.

This episode receives: 8/10, as I have already said this is another excellent episode.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 4: Transport to Oblivion by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 4: Transport to Oblivion by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this is an excellent episode

Action sequences: here are three examples of the action sequences that you can see in this episode, the first two are two double teams involving Megatron and Soundwave, then Megatron and Starscream. Megatron transforms into his [transformd mode of Walther P38 gun] which I would feel more comfortable suggesting Megatron's transformed version has a modified science-fiction twist to it, I am not criticizing this; I'm just pointing it out, whilst dictating this review I had a quick look at what this gun looks like in real life and then I looked at Megatron's transformed version and being positive there are differences.

The final action sequence I am going to make reference to is where this Autobot [Jazz] breaks off a piece of this cave, it looks something like you could use it as a baseball bat if you use your imagination, in fact this tiny sequence becomes a small reference to baseball.

Storyline: briefly in this episode they show how they are going to manage their time between two very important locations [I know this is a little bit vague but I really don't want to give too much away,] but it will make sense when or if you choose to watch this episode or not.

This episode receives: 8/10, I am sure that this is not the only time I will be saying something like this; but generally speaking these episodes are difficult to mark, so now and again I will be going for the mark which from an overview perspective this or that episode feels right to be given this or that mark, so in short a 7, would have been harsh and something which wouldn't have sat to well with me, because this episode doesn't do anything wrong or at the very least something for me to majorly criticize or just criticize.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 3: More Than Meets the Eye: Part 3 by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 3: More Than Meets the Eye: Part 3 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this is another episode which is lots of fun.

Character developments: there is this sequence involving these three characters Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave and in this one sequence I do believe that these three characters show individually what they are all about; from this perspective their core personality traits [I mean if you have never heard of this TV program and these three characters in any way shape or form,] this is one of those sequences that should tell you a lot in one sequence. Here is a basic description; Megatron and Starscream are having an argument about Starscream taking over the leadership of the Decepticons and Megatron putting Starscream in his place, Megatron turns around and walks away, so Starscream takes a shot at Megatron, Soundwave says Megatron; Megatron turns around, has this protective shield [it is on the side of his Fusion cannon side, you will not be able to miss this Fusion cannon it is noticeable.] Starscream says something to the effect of I am out of power and begins to beg Megatron for forgiveness, but instead Megatron uses his Fusion cannon, all of these characters developments show that in a nutshell Starscream will do absolutely anything to become the leader of the Decepticons including taking a cheap shot when Megatron's back is turned, it shows that Soundwave is a loyal right-hand man/soldier to Megatron and for Megatron himself it shows that he is ruthless [I could say a fair amount more about this situation and this episode and other characters, but I think that is enough.]

Action sequences: Optimus Prime takes a fair amount of punishment in either of his two forms, be it tumbling down with other debris after this explosion or falling out of the sky, these are just two examples of Optimus Prime's action sequences in this episode, the other action sequences are of a very high quality as well, be it with or without Optimus Prime.

This episode receives: 10/10, yes it may seem like at the moment I have been easily pleased as it relates to my marking, it is because there is so much happening that it is difficult to split hairs, which I try not to do unless there is something that sticks out or something like this, but there is a downfall to this; where now and again [of what I can remember so I could be wrong,] but it is still a valid point nonetheless; when or if this TV series has a day off as it relates to its standard of episode, then you may see a completely different mark, but for here and now let's try and keep the high marks coming.

Atomic Blonde 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Atomic Blonde 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this project is good

Fundamental elements: there are words and numbers on screen, voice-over elements, cultural elements, mental imagery, slow-moving effects, I think quick moving effects, background music which is noticeable, yes and no to subtitles being used when another language is being used, time jumps and place jumps.

The more I think about it, the more I don't think I am too keen on the fundamental elements for most of this project, it should be noted or two things should be noted, the first thing is this; I could have missed out some elements or got some elements wrong in the previous paragraph and the second thing is this; in the interest of fairness and balance when this project pulls itself together it does feel like a better project.

Action sequences: there is plenty of weapons being used, combat sequences with or without weapons being used, this chasing sequence which turns into an underwater sequence.

Performances: briefly they are all good.

This film receives: 6/10, it is difficult to say really; the fundamental elements to this project do make an impact on this title, as I have already made reference to in this review, so it is a good thing that this title has these good performances to rely on before and after the fundamental elements have settle down.

Sniper: Reloaded 2011 by AverageMansReviews

Sniper: Reloaded 2011 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this project is mixed

Fundamental elements: there are cultural elements, mental imagery flashback imagery thing, no subtitles when another language is being used, slow-motion effects, words on screen, voice-over element, time jumps and place jumps.

Artistic visions: the artistic visions are clear to see be it the landscapes or the animals and somewhere in the beginning we have our lead role waiting and he has this fly on his face in one scene and in another he has this insect on his face, these two scenes individually are close-up or enough so you can see what I have put here [I apologize if this insect is not an insect but something tiny anyway.]

Action sequences: now there is a workout sequence, a training sequence in this title, but where more of the strengths of this project are is in the field sequences and anything to do with them and yes there are plenty of weapons being used.

Character developments/Performances: on both counts on reflection these are difficult to judge, because on one hand for one example briefly we have a lead character that is trying to do the right thing, but has problems with authority figures that kind of character type and on the other hand were these performances trying to be safe versions of these character types or something like this [at the very least there is enough here for me to think like this in the first place.] But in a nutshell Billy Zane as Richard Miller whenever this character is involved in this project he does make an impact in one way or another.

This film receives: 4/10, now taking everything into consideration and looking back over what I have dictated in this review, I was considering giving this title a different mark or marks, but as everyone should know by now I try to be fair or as fair as I can be, so I went for this mark after everything is said and done.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 2: More Than Meets the Eye: Part 2 by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 2: More Than Meets the Eye: Part 2 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this is another episode which is lots of fun.

Soundwave and his mini-cassettes: these characters show more of what they are capable of in this episode, as they smartly and quietly enter the base of The Autobots to get Intel from Teletraan I, this is just a rough description of this sequence of events, like I said in the previous episode review, I was going to be a little bit more selective on what I tell you about these episodes, because and I will stop saying this; this is one of those TV programs that you need to watch at least once all the way through including the 1986 movie in the right order of things [which you will find all this information out in the previous episode review.] But now I have gotten that out of my system, this one sequence really does highlight to its audience or audiences how valuable Soundwave and his mini-cassettes are to Megatron, briefly Soundwave is the perfect soldier either doing reconnaissance or anything like this; then just reporting to Megatron or if Megatron gives him a mission he just gets results, a special mention should go to his mini-cassettes as well, they do their jobs up to Soundwave's standard and if they should get captured, you kind of get the feeling that they will never give any Intel or anything like that up, in fact they are just probably waiting for the right time to escape.

Action sequences: they are highly entertaining in short the audience gets to see this one-on-one between Optimist Prime vs. Megatron on this damn with weapons coming out of their hand sockets [so these hands go down and they are replaced by these weapons -- one each,] now don't get me wrong they are real weapons but everything about them including their presence is generated by power or something like this.

This episode receives: 10/10, as I have already said this is another episode which is lots of fun.

Boomerang 1992 by AverageMansReviews

Boomerang 1992 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this project is mixed

Fundamental elements: there is background music, cultural elements, no subtitles when another language is being used, but in one scene one character says what she said in another language in English after, time jumps and place jumps.

Comedy level: I don't know what I am going to say about it, because it really doesn't give me too much to work with, okay there is a character that has two signs [one on the front and one on the back of this cardboard in words, I don't know if it was cardboard but I think you get the point,] mature conversations about sex or actions related to sex which I don't exactly feel comfortable leaving an example here of this; but these two characters saying something to the effect of goodbye or good night in different languages this is something I can point out as funny.

Performances/Character developments: now for most parts the performances are difficult to call, now don't get me wrong there are some poor performances generally speaking anyway, but this is one of those occasions where it could be the performances or the character developments of their characters or a mixture of both, I have come to this conclusion simply based on the facts that somewhere later on in this project it does get better; there is growth and substance to this project.

This film receives: 4/10, I think the biggest problem that this title has is; it misses around for too long and without giving too much away fit in the substance and growth of this title in roughly the final quarter [it should be noted this is a guess and I wasn't keeping track of the time,] but my point is this; if it tried to extend the substance and growth, this title would have most probably been given a higher mark from me, as things currently stand there is maybe four different marks I could give this title, it just depends what section of it you're watching really,  but let's try leaving this review on a positive; Halle Berry as Angela Lewis, the more time this performer/character spends on screen the better this project gets, she has a positive impact on other performers which the more time she spends with them the better the chemistry gets or their performance with or without her [this will make better sense when or if you choose to watch this project or not, let's just say because of her performance/character developments, her impact is felt.]

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 1: More Than Meets the Eye: Part 1 by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 1, Volume 1] Episode 1: More Than Meets the Eye: Part 1 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is lots of fun

Basic things first: now as this is the first of many episodes, I was thinking I would just point out that I am going to be slightly more brief than what I usually am throughout this TV series, as it relates to its reviews not because I am lazy it has more to do with the fact that this is one of those TV programs that you have to watch all the way through at least once in your lifetime [the correct order of things are as follows; Season 1, season 2, Season 2 Part 2, The Transformers: The Movie 1986, Season 3, Season 3 and Season 4, this may sound really obvious but I really wouldn't recommend messing around with this order of things, in short this TV series is progressive with characters coming in and going out and so on and so forth that is all I am going to say.]

Character developments: I am just going to focus on here and now with the characters that are in front of me, this sentence will make better sense as you go throughout this TV series and I will most probably make reference to it as well. The Autobots [good characters] and the Decepticons [evil characters] have their own individual insignias so it tells everybody who or where these characters loyalty is to either Optimus Prime [the Autobots leader,] but it should be noted that under his leadership it is more out of respect that the other autobots follow him mixed in with this kind of military operation feel where everyone is valued whilst Megatron [the Decepticons leader,] yes also has this respect from these other Decepticons and this military feel, but it is a case of he says they do on one hand he has Soundwave [he is the commander of these mini-cassettes which are these little Decepticons, that come out of Soundwave's chest area when he or when Megatron's say-so or something like that, Soundwave is Megatron's right-hand man or go to guy, but on the other hand he has someone in his ranks that is just waiting for him to slip up and take over in the form of Starscream, this character is not shy about his desire to take over, in fact this friction is a consistent element I think that is enough for now.

Storyline: it covers all the basics quickly and efficiently,

This episode receives: 10/10, it is difficult to explain without people seeing this episode, it does a lot in a short amount of time, that it is difficult or harsh to give this episode anything less, it establishes things quickly to work on maybe or possibly in the next episode or episodes [I haven't seen the next episode yet.]

Death Wish 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Death Wish 2018 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this project is poor

Fundamental elements: there are voice-over elements, background music, cultural elements, no subtitles when another language is being used, mental imagery this flashback thing, slow-motion effects, time jumps and place jumps.

Comedy level: I don't know what to say about it really, I just don't know whether to see it is funny or irritating, you see on one hand we have this bowling ball [Ten-pin bowling] falling on this character's head which assists our lead role or this gun shop assistant being really happy or generally really upbeat about selling these kinds of weapons and accessories and there are other elements. But on the other hand the original film or the original series of films are not funny in a nutshell I have no idea why this film has these elements in it.

Action sequences: these elements gives this title value, be it weapons being used or our lead role pulling away this carjack with graphic results.

Performances: it is difficult to say really because there are some poor or somewhere around here, whilst there are some that are mixed, while there are some that are good [Willis and D'Onofrio] do have good chemistry, but I don't think this title properly uses this chemistry to its full potential, this is nothing against these two performers in a nutshell these two performers should have been given more time on screen together, I mean if I had these two performers contracted to my project I would put them in positions where if my project didn't go too well for one reason or another, I could rely on these two names to make an impact or make something happen or at the very least carry it with their individual stage presence or together and build their chemistry into the fundamental elements so it could be one or both carrying the baton throughout this title.

This film receives: 3/10, now I do try to be unbiased or balanced in my reviews as much as I can which I am hoping comes across in this review and many others, but this remake is far, far away from the classic Death Wish 1974 version as you can possibly get, don't get me wrong as I have already said Willis and D'Onofrio have good chemistry, I am still somewhat up in the air about the comedy level, in short the comedy level isn't that bad, but as this film is a remake of a film that has no comedy in it; it sticks out, on reflection I took two minutes to think about the mark originally I was going to give this film a 2 but to be balanced and fair I think this mark is better suited and reasonable [it should be noted that it would be interesting to see Willis and D'Onofrio in another project together sometime down the line.]

Gone Nutty 2002 by AverageMansReviews

Gone Nutty 2002 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title is excellent, I should just point out that this title is only roughly 5 minutes long give or take a second

Fundamental elements: there is background music.

Character developments/Comedy level: as I find  Scrat a very interesting character or a character I can easily settle down with, I like how he always seems to find himself in some kind of situation like in this title he was just trying to put one more acorn away which begins let's just say these sequences of unfortunate events.

Artistic visions: watching Scrat free-falling through the air collecting his acorns with this well-timed background music to accompany the situation [this is just one tiny example of the artistic visions that are in this project.]

This film receives: 8/10, after everything is said and done this project finds itself comfortably in the brackets of this mark; the mark below this one feels just a little bit low and not forgetting I really like Scrat so there we are.

Surviving Sid 2008 by AverageMansReviews

Surviving Sid 2008 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title good, just to give you a heads up the reason why I am being really brief it is because this project is only 7 minutes long give or take a second.

Fundamental elements: there are words and numbers on screen, place jumps and time jumps.

Comedy level: here are some things for you to look out for/listen out for whilst watching this title; this beehive/bees sequence or where Sid is singing this marching song or whenever this marching song thing is used and the smaller animals [children] are changing the words to this marching song and there are other things as well.

Artistic visions: it is good

This film receives: 6/10, I am going to quickly say this before I change my mind on my marking again of this project, so to make it easier for myself I will speak from an unbiased perspective, there are good elements, but it should tell you a lot when I am having too think long and hard about the mark I am going to give or have given this title.

Turbulence 1997 by AverageMansReviews

Turbulence 1997 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this title is poor

Fundamental elements: there are cultural elements, words and numbers on screen, background music, time jumps and place jumps.

Action sequences: there are weapons being used and other things.

Performances: I don't know what to say about them, because on one hand generally speaking yes they are poor, but on the other if they were going for these kind of character developments then they are workable or watchable or something like this.

This film receives: 2/10, I mean if you want some things to look out/listen out for whilst watching this title here they are; this is just a brief description of this element, now for some strange reason one of our lead characters picks up this item of clothing kind of folds it or something to that effect to put it in this overhead storage department, now here's my point; why do this when there is so much devastation around her in the first place in one way or another, then some time later she says something to the effect of; there is only one life up here against the amount down there [this is just a nutshell version she says more,] but some time later she assists to find the other hostages [so she wasn't the only one up there then but in fairness I had pretty much forgot the other hostages as well,] the fighter jet elements and this vehicle get stuck.
