Red Scorpion 1988/1989 by AverageMansReviews

Red Scorpion 1988/1989 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is poor.

Background music/Cultural elements/Fundamental core: the background music is irritating whenever it is in effect, the cultural elements are easy to see and the subtitles are big enough to see, but sometimes they are being used and sometimes they are not being used when another character is speaking another language, moving on to the fundamental core [including many other things,] well I just didn't like it this film moves too slowly and what with voice-over elements at the beginning of this project with pictures of our lead role, words on the screen, the title feeling like an after-thought, time jumps and placed jumps, how can I put this; this title quickly lost my interest.

Action sequences: there are combat sequences, weapons being used, explosions and they are okay.

Cast: well generally speaking this cast is a mixed bag really, you know it is one of those occasions where they seem to be doing okay, followed by not so okay and then repeating the pattern, but the whole thing with the subtitles and other things doesn't help, I even replayed some scenes, just to make sure that the character or possibly characters on screen at that time were speaking another language and there are no subtitles being used.

This film receives: 17% approval, I don't know what to say about this film really, it is what it is and that is about it and on a side note the title of this film, doesn't show itself at the beginning of the film but later on.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 6] Episode 51: Dragonfire by AverageMansReviews

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 6] Episode 51: Dragonfire by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good.

5 things about this episode

Storyteller: this character tells a story or something to that effect, but without anything like pictures to accompany the story, so it is basic, but still good.

Dragon head or Lizard head: briefly [V.E.N.O.M. leader] Miles Mayhem says I want that Dragon head, whilst Scott associated but not a member of [M.A.S.K.] says let's get a good look at that jade Lizard head, But whatever this head maybe it still looks good.

Lizards: there are these big types of Lizards in this episode.

Action sequences: these elements are good

Ending Message: the ending message is this in a nutshell; don't stand underneath a tree in a thunderstorm, because it attracts the thunder

This episode receives: 60% approval, yes this episode does have some good elements to it, but it does take some time to get going.

The Adventures of the American Rabbit 1986 by AverageMansReviews

The Adventures of the American Rabbit 1986 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is good.

Origin storyline/Storyline/Fundamental core: on both counts these storyline elements are okay they make sense and for the fundamental core there are time jumps and placed jumps in this title and these elements are okay as well, but at some points it does feel like this film goes through patches of being slow to comfortable moving forward and then repeats the cycle of being slow for a little time and then comfortable again and so on and so forth.

Music elements: now for these elements they can be used in the background, this piano [learning or job interview] and this band, these elements are there in this title and that is all I can say about them really, you know what I mean they don't do anything wrong they are just a part of this film.

Artistic visions/Action sequences: this animation is very easy to settle down with, it is colourful and it does show some imagination for one example, when our lead role is in his American Rabbit form, he has these little roller-skates on his feet [very good imagination was shown here] and the action-packed sequences are also interesting with our lead role in a nutshell fixing up this bridge before something completely goes wrong [this is just one sequence of events.]

This film receives: 63% approval, there are other elements to this project, which I haven't discussed [such as the soccer sequence or I think it is soccer they are playing, this is another good element] but then again if you haven't seen this project, it is good enough for at least a one-time viewing maybe with your young family [on a side note] if I have put or in the future the same percentage for a project but said something different for an example like good for one and very good for another project, without complicating things I think I was trying to say that one project just about got up to this percentage whilst another safely got up to this percentage and slightly more, just keep this in mind when you see my reviews. I am not making any excuses, I will try not to do this and I am not changing my mind on any of my figures, I'm just saying it and for some strange reason I have never been to good on mid-range numbers. "Like for another example this: does this film or project feel like a 65% or a 70% approval or somewhere between these two numbers”

Logan Lucky 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Logan Lucky 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is mixed.

Background music/Voice-over elements/
Fundamental core: simply put I am not a fan of this background music, the voice-over elements are okay and the fundamental core is a mixed bag, sometimes it feels really slow whilst other times it seems to pull itself together, whilst other times it is a mixture between these two or something else. There are words on screen at some points in this title; there are place jumps and time jumps as well.

Comedy level: there are bits and pieces I found funny [such as the explosive device scenes or sequences including any of the dialogue or anything else that should happen in these scenes or sequences,] but putting this element to one side for a moment, as I have already said there are other bits and pieces I found funny but there are not many.

Cast: the performances of this cast are generally speaking somewhere between okay to very good for some examples Tatum and Driver [Jimmy and Clyde Logan,] have a very good chemistry and dialogue exchanges in this title [it should be noted that some time in the future these two performers should do another project together in my opinion.] Craig as Joe Bang, when the audience meets this character for the first time, you should be able to tell that this character has a strong personality, so when this performer/character does anything or says anything it is usually something to watch out for and when you have two or three of these characters on screen at one time these are good sequences or scenes as well.

This film receives: 55% approval, now this percentage of approval may seem a little low because of everything I have just said, but in fairness I kept getting bored with this title, like I said earlier the background music I am not a fan of it and when the fundamental core is going through one of its stages of feeling really slow then I found it difficult to keep my eyes on this title, but don't get me wrong if you want to watch this project in a nutshell the cast is reliably interesting.

Yogi Bear 2010 by AverageMansReviews

Yogi Bear 2010 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is poor.

Voice-over elements/Storyline/Fundamental core: there are voice-over elements at some points in this title; the storyline is poor moving on to the fundamental core, it is a mixture between slow to moving slightly quicker than slow.

Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo: these two characters are okay, they are voiced by Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake, the inventions are interesting and generally speaking there are some comedy moments.

Character developments of the performers you can see
on screen: now I am choosing to take it easy on them a little, because it does feel like on one hand they didn't have much to work with and on the other hand the storyline is as I have already said it is poor, but I should just point out some of the character developments on their own are annoying very, very annoying.

Environment elements: there are environment elements used in this project at different points.

This film receives: 22% approval, now taking everything into consideration this percentage of approval just about seems right, don't get me wrong I like these two main characters, but it has to be said there is a lack of imagination in this title, like for an example these two main characters, could have gone around the world looking for a new home [yes my idea may seem a little bit cheesy, but then again it would have opened up the comedy level a bit like Yogi Bear experiencing different picnic baskets from around the world or something like that,] on a side note if my headers need another line or more, so be it as long as I get the bits and pieces I want in my reviews that is what matters.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 6] Episode 50: The Everglades Oddity  by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is excellent.

5 things about this episode

Fake space shuttle/Space shuttle launch: any scenes involving these two elements are highly entertaining.

Split-screen: this is a small element, but still good.

Substitute leader: Matt Trakker is unable to lead M.A.S.K. so Alex Sector steps in for this episode.

Ending message: don't run around a pool [a swimming pool.]

This episode receives: 80% approval, this episode has many high-quality elements to work with

Ghost in the Shell 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Ghost in the Shell 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is mixed to be honest with you I was sitting down watching this film thinking now and again "How am I going to put this down in a review."

Subtitles/Cultural elements/Background music/
Fundamental core: the subtitles are okay, there is one scene where a character is using another language without subtitles and there are cultural elements. Now when the background music is in effect it is very easy to pick up on and it does nothing for me.

The fundamental core: well I don't know what to say about it really because at some point I will be bringing it up again, but in a different way, generally speaking I found this fundamental core hard work to settle with, we have words on screen, time jumps and placed jumps in this film.

Artistic visions/Special-effects/Action sequences: yes this film is a visual experience on many different levels throughout this project, but it is either I have been around films or projects for too long, but there is a large piece of me that says "Yes this project is a visual experience, but it does feel like this film relies on it somewhat." The special-effects on any level for the first couple of times is excellent, but somehow it turns from being excellent to good to reasonable to "Okay you can stop leaning on the artistic visions or the special-effects so much." Don't get me wrong there are some occasions where it doesn't lean on it so much, but let me put it this way it wasn't the storyline or anything else which was beginning to bore me it was the special-effects and the artistic visions, the action sequences are okay, generally speaking there are plenty of things happening in them.

Cast: now like I said earlier I would be bringing up the fundamental core again, every recurring character in this project carries this film [as long as they are on screen.] Their performances are okay to a reliably interesting standard, the dialogue exchanges are good talking about things that are happening at that point in the film and ghost elements [I don't want to talk about this dialogue exchange for too long, because the scene I am making reference to has been well put together including this one-on-one dialogue exchange] and the word ghost will make better sense to you when or if you choose to watch this film or not.

This film receives: 38% approval, this title does have or did have some potential to be a great film, but for some reason it ended up being a project which doesn't deliver its potential. On a side note I am going to be replacing the word average with the word mixed in my opening line when it is appropriate, because it gives me a little bit more flexibility with the percentages of approval and if you have been reading my reviews I am incredibly grateful. I'm just taking out things that either don't work in my reviews and maybe replacing them with bits and pieces that may work better.

Vampires Suck 2010 by AverageMansReviews

Vampires Suck 2010 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is poor.

Fundamental core: yes absolutely I would usually break down different elements and discuss them individually, but to somewhat speed up this review I will just go ahead and say "the entire fundamental core and its elements are terrible, be it the time jumps or possibly place jumps, hey what can I say I wasn't really paying attention. The background music or the voice-over elements or anything else, I just found it difficult or painful to watch."

Comedy level: this itself is a very mixed bag meaning it ranges from why am I watching this film to cheap and tacky to okay I giggled or that was funny. Now I had to take some breaks while watching this film, this project was putting me to sleep with the amount of comedy references or styles which are designed to be of a lowbrow nature [on a side note generally speaking the character developments are very weak as well,] but where the cheap and tacky and okay I giggled elements come into effect, it is where the viewers may think sometimes "That scene or sequence was just really, really silly and not in a good way." For me there were some occasions where I was watching this film behind my hands, yes I have a wide open mind but after some time I was like "Okay you can give it a break now."

Now here are the good moments of this project and the comedy level which was funny [without saying too much,] Ken Jeong as Daro this performer does make an impact on this project and his performance/character developments are good and not forgetting he is funny as well.

This film receives: 20% approval, this is one of those occasions where I just wanted to see this project again so I could do this review again and possibly never see it again, if I had the choice [I may have to watch it, if someone wants to watch it and I have to watch it with them.]

Sgt. Bilko 1996 by AverageMansReviews

Sgt. Bilko 1996 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is straightforward, but decent viewing.

Storyline/Storyteller/Fundamental core: the storyline is okay, our lead character tells other characters the story about one other character and himself and this storyline element is okay as well. But moving on the fundamental core to this title is something that just works, it is one of those fundamental core's that has background music [the viewers know it is there, place jumps and I think some time jumps.

Comedy level: it is well-placed throughout and it is good

Cast: they all do a good job, working off one another and keep this film moving forward.

This film receives: 57% approval, yes I am very much aware I haven't said too much about this film, it is because this film comes from those kinds of films where from beginning to end it knows what it is and it knows what it is doing and it doesn't shake away from the plan [it just means on one hand you could put this title on for a lazy Sunday afternoon and on the other hand it doesn't give me too much to talk about.]

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 6] Episode 49: Follow the Rainbow by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is average to good.

5 things about this episode

Scott and T-Bob: water elements or using these rocks to get somewhere safe are good.

Information: the M.A.S.K. computer gives information.

Storyteller: now at some point in this episode a character tells this story, it is another good element.

Split-screens: this comes into effect when we have the masks come down over these character's heads

Ending message: the ending message is roughly this: don't add lighter fluid to a fire which is burning, it may explode

This episode receives: 56% approval, generally speaking this episode does feel like it need some time to get going properly, but as you can see it does have some good elements at different points, on a side note from now on I will be withdrawing such comments as "I had to take a break while reviewing this project." Because at the end of the day for an example if I am watching a long film or just in case if I have to rewind things just to make sure I put them in the right order in their review or I may have not heard it correctly or something else then that is not anything for me to worry about or talk about in any of my reviews in the future.

John Wick: Chapter 2 2017 by AverageMansReviews

John Wick: Chapter 2 2017 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is very good, but it does have its problems.

Cultural elements/Background music/Fundamental core: the cultural elements such as the subtitles they are okay, but at the same time they are confusing, from the perspective of sometimes they are being used while on other occasions they are not being used. Now I haven't mentioned this before because in this situation I could still read the subtitles or not, but on some occasions I am watching a film with somebody and they tell me what has just been said.

The background music is loud, easy to pick up on and for most of the time it does nothing for me. Moving on there are these place jump or place jumps, it is somewhat difficult to tell really I think one moment the audience is in [New York] America the next moment we are in Rome [Italy] and then back again at some point I think it is somewhat head scratching.

Now onto the fundamental core to this project and yes I am fully aware that I have discussed this already, but give me two minutes and you will see where I am going with this; the background music doesn't help the fundamental core for large amounts of this project, in fact I would have preferred no background music, because the thing is when you have a lead character which has many well-developed personality traits such as being intense, highly focused and moves with a purpose it could have been or maybe should have been really easy to base the fundamental core around this character with this dark atmosphere control instead or if you really, really have to have background music put something which works with the lead character, something slow and subtle and something which puts across to the audience that wherever this lead character goes he carries himself in this way at all times [intense, focused and ready to attack if necessary.]

Reeves/Fishburne/McShane/Rose: well it is always good to see Neo and Morpheus [sorry wrong film.] But seriously Reeves and Fishburne still have great chemistry in their dialogue exchanges to one another in this title. Reeves and McShane also have a very good chemistry in their dialogue exchanges, Reeves and Rose have likewise a very good chemistry between them, but their dialogue exchanges are interesting but still very good. All four of these performers put in strong performances to make their characters stand out in this sequel.

Action sequences: these elements are highly entertaining, great varieties in them such as many weapons being used, combat sequences, these sequences are put together to have a great flow to them and there are many other things, I am not being lazy by not talking about one specific scene or sequence, but I don't want to give any of them way but instead I will say this; these action sequences are lots and lots of fun.

This film receives: 77% approval, this sequel has been difficult to give a percentage of approval to, because it does have its problems as I have already said [you may have to forget about the background music being there,] but then again when this title is good it is enthusiastic mayhem [on a side note I had the subtitles on whilst watching heavy amounts of this film, there are some occasions where I used the subtitles facilities in some projects, I review, I will not be bringing this up again I'm just saying to be honest with my viewers or readers of my reviews.]

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 6] Episode 48: Quest of the Canyon by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is very average.

4 things about this episode

Maps: I really like these elements; in fact I like them so much that they bring up the quality of this episode.

Information: the M.A.S.K. computer gives some information.

Scott and T. Bob: their storyline elements are tedious; in fact I had to take a tiny break in watching this episode.

Ending message: it is something to the effect of this; use some light when reading, because if not you may damage your eyes.

This episode receives: 48% approval, this episode is a mixed bag really there are some good elements in this episode which I haven't discussed, but there is one confusing element to this episode which I haven't discussed either in the interest of balance.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 5] Episode 47: The Lost Fleet by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is average.

5 things about this episode

Geothermal energy: we have some characters talking about this topic and giving us this basic example I think, I don't know much about this topic, but it does look like and feel like they are giving a basic example of what it is in this sequence.

Information: the M.A.S.K computer gives some information.

Third mask: Matt Tracker has a third mask, this is news to me [you will get to see it in this episode.]

Split screens: these split screens come into effect when we have two evildoers sitting in or on their weapon systems/vehicles without their masks on and a short amount of time later, it comes into effect again when we have the same two evildoer's masks coming down over their heads.

Ending message:  in a nutshell when going up a ladder get somebody to hold it still.

This episode receives: 53% approval, yes this episode does have many good elements to it, but generally speaking it is slow in places and for some strange reason I wasn't feeling the IT factor for this episode.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory 1971 by AverageMansReviews

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory 1971 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is excellent.

News reports/Cultural elements/Fundamental core: the audience has these news reports keeping everyone up-to-date on the search for these golden tickets, the cultural elements are based on the fact that these characters come from different backgrounds, moving on the fundamental core to this project works really well [there are some place jumps and time jumps,] when this film goes from day to night or the other way around.

Musical numbers/Comedy level: they are always fantastic fun to hear and they are well placed throughout this film and the comedy level is good-natured, my favourite two comedy scenes are these: the first one is this person has asked this computer a question, but because this computer is intelligent it will not give the answer to this question, so this man ends up getting very angry and the second scene is where this auction is taking place [that is as much as I can tell you,] because it is only a short scene.

Artistic visions: they are amazing around every corner there is always something to see or to experience [I am not going to go on about the artistic visions for too long,] because if you haven't seen this film already I just don't want to give too much away. But I can say this; the imagination shown in this title is of the highest qualities indeed.

Cast: the children performers all do a great job and most of the adult do good as well, but Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka he makes this character is very own and I will even go one more step and say whomever tries to bring this film back for another remake or reboot [I am not saying they will, I'm just saying if they do,] they will have big shoes to fill, because Wilder really does understand the balance in the mind-set of this character, meaning sometimes he is calm and intelligent with dialogue exchanges to match, while other times he can be intense and leaning toward madness. But the most interesting thing about this performance and this version of this character is this; you cannot have one side of his character's personality without the other, because both sides of his personality keep him balanced in the world of his creation and design, not forgetting sometimes his mind-set is in the middle using elements from each side, to have conversations or questions or any comment that he doesn't want to reply to [or if he does it is usually with a short comment or something that doesn't make crystal clear sense,] and on top of that how quickly and naturally he rotates from one mind-set to another with ease is just great fun to watch.

This film receives: 93% approval, now as far as I'm concerned this film has stood the test of time and should be seen once in your life, but there is one scene where there is this moment or these moments where I cannot hear comfortably what is being said I am not going to bring up any of the other performer or performers in this scene or sequence, but there is this one character's comments or questions or anything other that should come out of this character's mouth they are somewhat distracting, on a side note how is it Grampa Joe is able to get out of bed after such a long time [yes at first he does struggle,] but the next day he is able to walk around normally. I am thinking he would need some kind of physiotherapy for some time, before he is able to walk around normally [I am just pointing this out] and just before I finish yes I am aware of the remake of this film released in 2005.
