Review Time

Warning: there is flash photography and flashing effect.

Storyline: it is good, but having said that it does feel like they give too much of the storyline away when Devlin/Northam shows his true colours relatively early on in the film which does take the element of surprise out of things which based on my viewing experience it could have made the pacing of the film a little bit more livelier if they had waited to pull the trigger a little bit more later on, but in reality the pacing is something that knows what it is doing and it sticks to that.

Action/Art: there are weapons being used and chasing, moving on to the art; it is in the sky of some scenes [you will notice them when you see them they are that eye-catching] and on top of that we have these computer elements; Doom the video game [it is the first-person shooter our lead character/performer Bennett/Bullock is fixing from a virus] and this fireplace done by computer graphics as well, playing of a piano and look out for the flowers right at the end of the film.

Characters/Performances: on both counts they are straightforward and likewise the on-screen chemistry can be seen in the same light also. But I have to say on reflection Bennett/Bullock leads this cast very well indeed as she urges this film forward as she is trying to get her life back.

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; I mean if you are a Sandra Bullock fan and you have never seen this film take a look at it; but any way you look about it this film is solid. [On a quick side note a marking 4 or a 5 it is in the brackets of mixed on the scale of my marking system, so I am aware on one hand I said this film is mixed whilst on the other hand I said it was solid, I was just thinking I would point this out.]

WWE: well I wish I could tell you anything that this company has done lately is surprising as it relates to the Jeff Hardy narrative or Bruce Prichard taking over from Paul Heyman as Executive Director of Raw alongside his already Executive Director position on SmackDown as well.

Now you may of noticed whilst I have been coming out with wrestling blogs, I am not particularly positive about the WWE, in short it is because I have been interested in wrestling since the 1980's and since the 1980's or slightly earlier this company hasn't changed much and on a quick side note I have tried to be positive about this company before, but as soon as I am slightly positive about them sooner or later; they kind of make me eat my words.

So this is one of those rare occasions I will try and be positive about this company; of what I understand from watching other people's contents Heyman was going in the right direction of going with younger characters/performers which as far as I'm concerned this is about 15 years behind schedule, this was never going to be an overnight success this is going to have to be years and years and years, many years down the line, if anything yes Heyman had some bloopers as it relates to some of the narratives in his lead creative position of this show. But what it has shown is he still has so, so much to offer the wrestling industry, if he is still able to look at today, tomorrow and next year for wrestling talent then he is priceless.

But unfortunately that is where my positivity ends for now; now this is just speculation because I don't know Mr. McMahon, but I wouldn't be too surprised if he said something to Prichard about systematically destroying most of what Heyman had built up minus McIntyre as the WWE Champion and originally I said Asuka as the Raw Women's Champion, but what I've learned today whilst watching someone else's material I don't see her lasting long as the Raw Women's Champion in fact it has just come into my mind that I can see them giving the Championship to Jax just to irritate everybody and to remind people that Mr. McMahon does what he likes; when he likes or it will go back to Charlotte, so now everyone minus McIntyre [for now; Mr. McMahon could always bring back Lesnar; please no more Lesnar] or Charlotte be afraid; be very, very afraid  I can see them also giving no time for the Tag Team Divisions be it male or female or Raw or SmackDown.

I can quite easily see King Corbin taking over the Mid-Cards which for people that are going to watch this; it will be torture like when Baron Corbin did this a little while ago under this persona.

Briefly I will discuss the Jeff Hardy narrative; yes it is exploitative and the only reasons why I haven't talked about it until now and why I am not angry about it; it is just simply down to this; what do you expect from this company really? Okay I feel like dropping a pipe bomb [in a wrestling terminology.]

You have Triple H. and HBK Shawn Michaels being progressive down in NXT on every single level in and outside of the ring whilst you have two people in Mr. McMahon and now Prichard using mostly any angle to get TV ratings be it a good idea or not, there is something wrong with this picture. On one hand you have this image of wrestlers and hierarchy working together to make their product the best they can with moving with the present times.

Whilst on the other hand the Main Rosters are just the plaything for the audience of one; Mr. McMahon I will be positive about the WWE again here I am excited for the future to see Triple H. and his people around him take over this company when Mr. McMahon either retires which will never happen or is no longer here; pipe bomb dropped!

All Elite Wrestling: now for me the Jericho Tyson feud thing isn't working, I have no idea why Tyson ripped a AEW T-shirt at that specific time and that in itself was painful to watch as you could tell it really didn't go to plan, then to flex up and get up in Jericho's face, then to have Jericho say something to the effect of "Very nice" and then everything kicking off from there. I could be absolutely wrong about this; but then again this is how I saw it; it's like Tyson had missed a dialogue exchange and just went straight into it.

It was a good thing he was doing this segment with Jericho; because he just makes this awkward situation into something feasible; let's just say if you haven't seen it yet which I am sure you all have, this segment had every potential of falling flat on its face and to be honest I am not keen on seeing Jericho vs. Tyson anytime soon, if this is just a taste of what is to come, I can see a train wreck in the future if the idea is any in-ring competition. Yes Jericho can still do it and yes he could get Tyson through the match if everything goes to plan, but I am speculating here if Tyson cannot get a promo segment right, how can he get the mechanics of a wrestling match right? This match isn't going to be pretty and not taking into consideration the potential of something unexpected going wrong, in a nutshell I can see a level of Goldberg vs. The Undertaker at Super ShowDown 2019 match here with one massive difference Goldberg and The Undertaker have been in the wrestling industry for many years and unfortunately this match took place 15 years too late. But here is my point Tyson is not a wrestler and neither him or Jericho are spring chickens, so basically I cannot be the only one seeing this potential massive train wreck?

I mean if they really have to do this; set it up as a tag team match Jericho & Guevara vs. Tyson & Hardy at All Out 2020, that way they can specifically protect Tyson, but also everyone involved and hopefully bring down the percentage of something going wrong.

FTR; the AEW Tag Team Division has just stepped up to a different level, I mean previously we have always known that this team was going places but in AEW with or without the Championships or singly yes their main purposes tag team dominance, but individually [still within their tag team,] sometime down the line I wouldn't mind seeing the AEW TNT Championship on one of them, basically there is nothing to hold them back now.

Review Time

Warning: there is flash photography, flashing effects, animal cruelty and capital punishment in one way or another in this project.

Storyline: it is wishy-washy, it misses out the invention of electricity and there is a consistent element of capital punishment after the animal cruelty element, because the storyline is wishy-washy the pacing can be seen in the same light as well.

Action/Art/Comedy: there are weapons being used, the art can be seen in the scenes through this project; to be a little bit more specific about the art now the viewers can see these many, many light bulbs in a massive circle with Edison/Cumberbatch standing in the middle [the viewers do get to see this scene from an overview perspective,] another of Edison's inventions the Kinetoscope [motion pictures] this is excellent art and finally there is one tiny piece of comedy; here is a rough description it is where [Younger Dash Edison/Woody] in Morse Code says "His nose looks like a cherry" [referring to Morgan/Macfadyen] with  Morgan/Macfadyen asking Edison basically "What did he say?"

Characters/Performances: these are good on every single level including good on-screen chemistry, but having said that and this is nothing against these performers; but the viewers can't really enjoy them because of everything I have said in previous paragraphs like the storyline and all of that combined.

This film receives: 2/10, this film is poor; I mean yes this film does focus on what it says on the side of the tin or in this case DVD case "The Current War."But I wish they would have focused on the creation of electricity first just for a small amount of time and then move on from there [like doing the background first that kind of approach,] I did find it difficult to settle down with this film, because of everything I have said in this review, consequently I became bored if I am being honest and see from the perspective of the criminal as capital punishment is being delivered is/was very unnecessary.

Review Time

Storyline: in theory this storyline would have been something solid to good, but then again in reality the pacing of this project is agonizingly slow and the movement doesn't help things either and on top of that this film leaves things on a question-mark and just for a cherry on the top the question-mark ending already has a better storyline [potentially based on what we see in this film and a better pacing as well.]

Action/Comedy/Art: I will give you one example of the action and the comedy going hand-in-hand; we have our lead role The Stranger/Austin pushing this character/performer out of a window consequently falling onto this car roof with a supporting character/performer Bishop/Cerra asking "Is he dead?"With The Stranger/Austin replying "He is not exactly the picture of health is he" [this is an excerpt] and there is one other action and comedy element in this film.

Art; there are some good looking scenes, drawings of this girl and when we have The Stranger/Austin wiping away the steam on this mirror, to see his eyes in the mirror to try and remember who he is.

Characters/Performances: on all counts these are something safe and reliable including the on-screen chemistry, but there is two thing which leaves these performances exposed and this is absolutely nothing against these performers; but the pacing/movement as I have already made reference to leaves these characters/performers exposed, likewise as I have already mentioned as well right at the end of the film we get this feeling that the sequel [which there isn't one] could on all counts be better, but generally speaking these characters/performers are fighting a losing battle.

This film receives: 1/10, now I was going to give this film a higher mark but the final nail in the coffin was the ending, but to leave this review on a positive if there are any fans of Steve Austin a.k.a. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin out there in Internet land give this film a look, but I really wouldn't expect too much.

Just a quick heads up:  I am dictating this some days away from this pay-per-view so these matches may be in the wrong order and whilst I'm here there are only three things I don't like about this pay-per-view and I will discuss them when we get to them.

Andrade vs. the United States Champion Apollo Crews: my pick is Apollo Crews; it just seems way too early for him to drop the United States Championship in his push, all I ask is give them time to have a decent match, because this match should be good providing they have been given time.

Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs. The IIconics vs. the Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley & Sasha Banks Triple Threat Match: my pick is Bayley & Sasha Banks; once again it is way, way too early for them to drop their Championships but then again does anyone remember WrestleMania 35 and the fallout from the result of this Triple Threat Championship Match? That is all I'm going to say [they wouldn't do it again? Or hopefully they wouldn't do it again.]

Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus: my pick is Sheamus; I'm guessing here on some form of interference from someone hence Hardy gets distracted and Sheamus picks up the W.

Nia Jax vs. the Raw Women’s Champion Asuka: my pick is Asuka; so we come to the first thing I don't like about this pay-per-view. Straight off the bat if the WWE are struggling for names on the Card I can understand why she is still here, but get her off-screen after this and yes if we were living in a normal situation I would happily have removed her [use a Kayfabe injury,] she is just too much of a liability in the ring and this recurring situation needs to be resolved, I know people get injured in the ring that comes with the territory. But not at this rate of recurring situations as it relates to Jax, but if the WWE doesn't want to do anything about it; it will be more of a case of when not if someone gets injured again or worse; she is too Kryptonite/radioactive at the moment.

Bobby Lashley vs. the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre: my pick is Drew McIntyre; so we finally have got here, these two characters/performers are individually being treated as they should have been treated when they individually came back to this company, well it took you long enough didn't it WWE, just don't screw it up give them time to have a good match and take things from there.

The Miz & John Morrison vs.

the Universal Champion Braun Strowman Handicap Match: my pick is Braun Strowman; this would be the second thing I don't like about this pay-per-view, I'm getting the slight feeling of déjà vu here  Elimination Chamber 2020 Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn vs. the Intercontinental Champion Braun Strowman 3-on-1 Handicap Match, please WWE don't go down this line again and just for the record they could have freshened things up [they could have slightly changed the stipulation from Handicap to a Three Falls Match first, Two Single Matches one each and then the Handicap Match stipulation.]

Edge vs. Randy Orton: my pick is Randy Orton; just because of 50-50 booking, so I have one question; why doesn't this match have a No1 Contender stipulation in place for the Universal Championship? I really would have put this in place so the there is something on the line.

Okay I think I've just about covered everything I will see you at the next WWE or AEW pay-per-view, it feels like I am forgetting something here. Oh yes this would be the third and final thing I don't like about this pay-per-view. Who had the stupid idea of using this tag line of "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever." Don't get me wrong these two characters/performers have every right to be in the WWE Hall of Fame or inducted as it relates to Randy Orton at some point in the future, but individually or together they are not the greatest wrestlers, Edge will give you passion and he will put everything on the line whilst Randy Orton is a safe pair of hands, but his matches are a paint by numbers that kind of thing.

Review Time

Storyline/Characters/Comedy/Performances: because the first three components go hand-in-hand I was thinking I would group them together, basically the storyline is something straight-forward and reliable, but however for a heavy majority of this project its movement and momentum is really, very slow.

But that is until one of our main characters/performers goes from Wick/Austin to Wick/"Stone Cold"Austin; yes he uses his professional wrestling persona in this project to some degree, which most definitely galvanizes this project into something noticeably quicker and brings more of a comical edge [as he is being tortured and at one point he says "Is that the best you've got?"On a quick side note yes there are other comedy elements in one way or another in this title.

Performances; they are all round solid on every single level.

Action/Art: there are weapons being used, combat; now to point something out the viewers get to see Wick/"Stone Cold"Austin vs. The German/Lundgren go one-on-one. Moving on to the art at the beginning of this project the viewers get to see a ten-pin bowling alley, go through its routine of setting up a new frame and there is a very tiny amount of good scenery to look out for as well.

 This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; it does need a rocket up its posterior to get going, but after everything is said and done it finds itself at this mark and obviously if there are any fans of either or both of Steve Austin a.k.a. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin or Dolph Lundgren out there in Internet land take a look at this film; but I would say manage your expectations that is all I'm going to say here.

Review Time

Warning: there is flash photography and a scene of a suicide.

Storyline: now be it the storyline or the pacing of this film they are both solid; they individually or together know what they are doing from beginning to end and they stick to it.

Art: the viewers have music from this or these Brass Bands, we also have the sun in the background of one scene and we get to see Big Ben [the clock tower and not the Pittsburgh Steeler's NFL Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger which has the nickname Big Ben,] all of this is good.

Characters/Performances: likewise these two components are good as well; because this film is inspired by true events of the Mining Industry from the 1990's, the viewers will understand or if you weren't born yet; you understand by the end of it how things were at this point in history.

Now just to cover my back if I should have any backlash, I would like to point out I am not claiming to be an expert on the subject far from it, I was just a child in this time bracket so I very vaguely know what happened in this point in history.

So as it relates to this project the character developments and performances and including the on-screen chemistry; it reflects this time in history as how things were from just a film perspective to be good.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; I mean if you were not born from this time in history and wanted to see/experience what it was like this project will do that.
