Brooklyn's Finest 2009/2010 by AverageMansReviews

Brooklyn's Finest 2009/2010 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this project is mixed

Fundamental elements: there are voice-over elements, cultural elements, background music, slow-motion, mental imagery, effects, time jumps and place jumps.

In short for now the general movement of this title is mixed, I will explain in the next section of this review.

Storyline: first of all without giving too much away there are three storylines happening in this film, the viewers follow these three characters in their individual storylines. Now here's why the general movement is mixed, sometimes the crossovers from one to the other are well-planned such as for an example we could have two characters in one scene, the audience could come into this scene on the back of one storyline and leave off the back of another storyline.

But on the other hand this project does lift up the viewers from one storyline to another and put us down again in a different storyline but my point here is this; this title does run the risk of unsettling the balance like for another example you could be settled/this film could be settled in a storyline, but then you could be taken somewhere else and then having to get settled again before moving again, that is if this title at that point gives you time to settle down again. There is one more point I should quickly say about this storyline it is one of those films that leaves things on a question-mark or question marks at the end of this title and for the time length of this project being roughly 132 minutes I want a better ending.

Action sequences: there are weapons being used, combat elements and chasing sequences.

Character developments/Performances: the character developments are something safe and reliable, but the performances are difficult to call just because without repeating myself too much, the audience is jumping from storyline to storyline and having to get settled again and so on and so forth with these characters in their individual storylines, so briefly I think I'm going to go with solid to good to be fair.

This film receives: 4/10, now because of everything I have said in this review this mark feels right.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 12: Power Ranger Punks by AverageMansReviews

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 12: Power Ranger Punks by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good.

5 things about this episode

Back storys: there are two back storys sequences one of this monster in this episode and the second without giving too much away is of this antidote which is much more interesting, because the viewers get to see Zordon in a physical presence.

Artistic visions/Action sequences: the artistic visions as it relates to this monster are well thought out, be it his image [for one example when he eats a Power Ranger their head appears on his stomach] or when he performs an attack either with these power attacks [I don't know what else to call them, but you will notice them when they happen] or he can just eat The Power Rangers.

Kimberly/The Pink Power Ranger uses her Power Bow. [I am talking about the element of this episode at the final time she uses it.] The camera work for this small element has imagination to it, because the audience gets to be really, really up close and personal with this arrow and see the different perspectives whilst it is on its journey to its destination.

Character developments: simply put the punks elements are a cliché, now because I am from the alternative lifestyle myself, these two main characters are dressed up like rockers and not out and out punks or unless in fairness and balance they mean the attitude/personality traits, but still as I have already said this is a cliché because not everyone from the alternative or specifically punks lifestyle acts this way.

Comedy level: Bulk & Skull have a very good scene and scenes or sequences with other main characters/performers of this cast

This episode receives: 6/10, not to put a downer on this mark or episode, but the more you watch of it the better it gets.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 11: No Clowning Around by AverageMansReviews

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 11: No Clowning Around by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is good.

5 things about this episode

Back story/Moral message: there is a back story sequence to this monster and the moral message elements are stick together and don't wander off

Artistic visions/Action sequences: we have this scene where the Power Rangers are on the ground somewhere high up and in front of them is this fully grown monster and he is giving this dialogue. The reason why I have said somewhere high up is because the viewers can see somewhere like his midriff and up as he is giving this dialogue, whilst The Power Rangers are standing somewhere green and possibly rocky.] This green and possibly rocky line sections off the scene so hence why we can only see roughly the midriff and up of this monster, one final thing The Power Rangers look very small but very important to the presentation of this scene and a special-effects perspective it is looking a little bit vintage but still all good

The action sequences: now I really don't want to give too much away, so briefly I will just say this; some of the Dinozords individually yet working together show off their abilities/skills and the Megazord shows off a new ability/skill as well.

Comedy level: this is something for you to look out for Bulk & Skull get eggs on their heads.

This episode receives: 7/10, even though I have pointed out some positive things about this episode, from a general perspective the opening section or slightly a little bit more; I wasn't paying attention it is mixed and if this episode didn't wake up it was looking at a different mark that is all I can say. I was thinking I would just point this out, just in case anyone watched this episode and was thinking "He kind of missed something out here." All I can say is I am aware of it, but this episode does get better and better the more you watch of it and on a side note this doesn't break my 3 to 5 things about an episode, because this is a summing up thing.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 10: Happy Birthday, Zack by AverageMansReviews

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 10: Happy Birthday, Zack by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is excellent

5 things about this episode

Origin storyline/Back story: the fake origin storyline and the back story with a small sequence are interesting. Now whilst I'm on these subjects I have recently realized as it relates to these episodes, I may have got slightly confused on which one is an origin storyline or back story, I know the difference but in these episodes there is a fine line between one or the other, yes it is still my mistake I'm just simply apologizing for this.

Bloopers: because I like variety in my blogs/reviews, I did notice some fishy things about this episode and no I am not referring to a monster. Trini/The Yellow Power Ranger seems to be hurt as she is calling her Sabertooth Tiger Dinozord [basically and I could be wrong here, but this element looks like it was taken from another episode, on top of that I get the feeling that her voice was voiced-over/dubbed over, with her voice yes but it doesn't feel or look right] and on a quick side note all the other Power Rangers don't seem hurt in any way shape or form.

In the same sequence Kimberly/The Pink Power Ranger didn't even get to call upon her Pterodactyl Dinozord, yes it still came out but she didn't call upon it.

Now in the ending sequence we have this band playing in the background, trying to give off the impression they are playing and they have a vocalist, but there is one little, ever so little problem with this; the song may have a vocalist singing but there is physically no signs of a vocalist with this band and I have looked again and again she isn't there, unless she is a member of the X-Men and her abilities/skills are able to vanish/disappear/able to walk through hard things including anything she is holding disappears with her as well then I could be wrong.

Action sequences/Artistic visions: now having the Megazord doing combat with this monster, including when this monster delivers a stomp to the Megazord, Rita Repulsa giving combat advice and showing how it should be done, after The Power Rangers have had a discussion about this situation, in a nutshell the Megazord shows off these new abilities/skills [at the beginning of this there is a bit more dialogue between Rita and this monster.] The camera work throughout this sequence is excellent, it succeeds in trying to make its audience a part of this sequence with certain camera shots/angles to bring them closer and more invested in the action.

This episode receives: 8/10, there are some other elements I could talk about, but as I can only pick between 3 to 5 things you will have to watch this episode to find out the rest.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 9: For Whom the Bell Trolls by AverageMansReviews

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 9: For Whom the Bell Trolls by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this is another good episode

4 things about this episode

Character developments/Comedy level: in a nutshell on both counts, the audience gets to find out more about these established characters, moving on to the comedy level; Bulk & Skull have these little moments be it sitting at the back of the class room with these little comments or something else.

Action sequences/Artistic visions: The Power Rangers taking on the Putties/Putty Patroller's with other established characters involved as well, this was good because it was put together in such a way that it was a chaotic sequence. The artistic visions well having these vehicles [including Trini and Billy] or transport going inside this jar was okay, but what was more interesting and engaging was when the Megazord goes inside this giant jar or when the Megazord uses this jar [I don't want to say too much about these elements, but you will notice any of them when or if you come to watch this episode,] they really stand out.

This episode receives: 6/10, I think or I am slightly more comfortable with this mark, once again without giving too much away this monster is not a fighter by nature, so consequently this episode is lacking a little something because of this.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 8: I, Eye Guy by AverageMansReviews

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 1,] Episode 8: I, Eye Guy by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this is another good episode

5 things about this episode

Storyline/Back story/moral message: the storyline is okay, the back story sequence of this monster where and are good and there is a moral message element or something to this effect, where in a nutshell this Science Judge character apologizes for overreacting to a situation.

Artistic visions/Action sequences: this monster known as Eye Guy is a very interesting character not just based on his looks of many eyes, but his abilities to reassemble and attacks of images of eyes/laser attacks.

This episode receives: 6/10 as I have already said this is another good episode.

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 2, Part 2, Volume 4, Disc 1] Episode 45: Quest for Survival by AverageMansReviews

The Transformers 1984 -- 1987 [Season 2, Part 2, Volume 4, Disc 1] Episode 45: Quest for Survival by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is lots of fun.

Storyline/Character developments/Comedy level: the storyline is good, but from a foundation level it is right on the money it keeps everything progressing with a lively pace as the audience gets transported from this location or situation to another location or situation or return to another location or situation.

The character developments are engaging and easy to understand, be it where the Insecticons become very unhappy with Megatron firstly and then it plays out by showing itself as friction and distrust between the Insecticons and Megatron, there are other elements of friction or chemistry between different characters in this episode as well, but I really don't want to give too much away and briefly for one comedy element or sequence in this episode; it would be where Blaster is playing music, it may be doing the job but it is also irritating or something a little bit higher at the same time [yes just for the record this entire sequence including elements before the bits and pieces I have pointed out can be seen as an action sequence, but in this case I will see it as a comedy element.]

Artistic visions/Action sequences: the swarm of Insecticons scenes or sequences are excellently managed to show their massive numbers and just for a little bit of variety this needs to be mentioned a selection of Autobots use the word "Retreat" when they are battling with the Insecticons.

This episode receives: 10/10, there is so much happening in this episode that after everything is said and done I went for this mark.
