He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 2] Episode 8: The Time Corridor by AverageMansReviews

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 83 -- 85 [Volume 2] Episode 8: The Time Corridor by AverageMansReviews

The only downside to this episode is Orko, I mean everything else about this episode brings something to the table in one way or another.

Review Time: this episode has a mixture of positive elements.

Artistic visions: absolutely fantastic and they are really engaging on every level.

Action: hard-hitting and they do have a good variety.

Storyline: interesting and well put together in this episode.

Ending message: something to the effect of, learn from yesterday to make tomorrow better.

This episode receives: 80% approval, this episode is good fun for the most of it and the reason why I have been brief as I said at the beginning of these reviews, I wouldn't tell you everything about these episodes or for that matter films either. But generally speaking this episode is excellent if we just put one character to one side for a minute.

Frozen Fever 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Frozen Fever 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is only roughly 7 minutes long if that [that is why this review is incredibly short.]

Animation/Musical number: these elements are colourful, engaging and easy to listen to.

Comedy level: these little snowmen are firstly many and enthusiastic in everything they do.

This film receives: 60% approval, don't get me wrong this project is enjoyable, but as I have been around films for many years now, when it comes to the original instalment to this franchise kind of taking over the world when it first hit cinemas in 2013, my enjoyment of these characters has somewhat vanished [in a nutshell roughly at the end of 2013 and the entire of 2014 all I heard was the original film title in every way shape or form.]

Toy Story That Time Forgot 2014 by AverageMansReviews

Toy Story That Time Forgot 2014 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: now as this project is only roughly 22 minutes long, I will be somewhat brief in what I say.

Animation: it is engaging and detail on every aspect from beginning to end of this short film.

Comedy level/Character developments: now it is very rare that I actually try to combine these two elements together, generally speaking the comedy level is well placed throughout. But I am more interested in what Buzz and Woody say at some stages in this adventure, on one hand they are talking to one another and making some slight comedy references to the situation [as to illustrate these two characters are possibly the two oldest toys in this project and they have seen so much,] so in essence  whatever comes up, they have enough experiences between the two of them to get through it, don't get me wrong at some point things do get a little bit out of hand and on the other hand when these two characters do something other than talk to one another, it is fun to see them do their thing.

This film receives: 80% approval, what we have here is an excellent short film

16 Blocks 2006 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: now it is very true that sometimes I would give you a stretched out review, just to tell you that a project is poor. But not this time, at least 85% of this film is so boring that it actually took me two days to get through this project.

Storyline: this in itself is very straightforward, it may offer you some little twists and turns in the later stages but that is about it really.

Action: if I had to pick something that could be a positive element to this project, I would have to choose the action-packed sequences, don't get me wrong, the action-packed sequences are the basic standards of weapons, vehicles being used or chasing sequences [but to be fair I don't have too much to pick from in the first place as it relates to anything positive.]

Character developments: these elements are tedious, firstly the audience can understand each character and their purpose in the film straightaway and secondly if any of these characters show any signs of growth throughout the film, you're audiences can work it out even before it happens, so when or if these character developments happen it is really no surprise.

This film receives: 10% approval, I don't know what I am meant to say about this project, that I haven't said already; the 10% approval is because if you like chasing, weapons, vehicles with a very basic storyline this film is your kind of thing basically other than that I don't have anything else to say.

A Good Day to Die Hard 2013 by AverageMansReviews

A Good Day to Die Hard 2013 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is enjoyable, but it does have problems as well.

Storyline/Subtitles: the storyline itself is okay, it does its job and the subtitles are okay-ish to read [they are not the worst subtitles text in the world, even with my dyslexic tendencies.]

Action: these sequences are indeed explosive, action-packed, well put together and a strong element to this project.

Comedy level: this element comes to its audiences from the usage of [one-liners] between this Father and Son in this film. This particular comedy level shows elements of a dysfunctional nature between them, as now and again they are trying to discuss elements of their relationship, potentially not always at the best of times throughout this instalment.

Fundamental core: such as the atmosphere controls and the scene consistencies, now at the beginning stages it does feel really slow and quite heavy in everything it does, after it has taken some time to warm up. The scene consistencies are much more fluent [quick and easy,] but towards the later stages it does kind of gradually peak and comfortably gets over the finishing line.

Ending: without giving too much away this ending is nothing special and it is disappointing.

This film receives: 78% approval, yes absolutely when this film gets going it is enjoyable, but the beginning stages and then followed by the ending stages, 78% approval just about seems right, after taking everything into consideration.

The Debt Collector 1999 by AverageMansReviews

The Debt Collector 1999 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: I don't really have too much to say about this project [Billy Connolly is the biggest positive element to this project,] his character developments are subtle and interesting.

Fundamental core: as in the atmosphere controls and the scene consistencies are very messy, the storyline has been sectioned off around different characters, at different times, in different locations [so in essence what I am saying is this; you could be around one character or selection of characters one minute and the next minute you could be somewhere else with a different selection of characters in no particular order,] or even when this film does slow down and begin to show some kind of consistency it doesn't exactly move with any kind of confidence, because this film jumps around, the atmosphere controls are pretty useless in one perspective. But in other perspectives it is just in time to be useful or constructive [without giving too much away, the storyline elements are connected so it does make sense, but how this film has been put together it makes everything look really hard work.]

Action: these sequences are nothing special, but more to the point the sequences that we do see are clumsy and messy.

Ending: this film does end, but it isn't a strong ending or a decent ending or a well-rounded one at that, it is a slightly confusing one if I had to put it into a category.

This film receives: 7% approval, if there are any fans of Billy Connolly out there in Internet land, give this film a look but I really wouldn't expect too much generally speaking.

Commando 1985 by AverageMansReviews

Commando 1985 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film has a basic storyline really and just gets on with things, I would usually be a little bit more specific but for those people that have seen this film, you should know what I'm trying to say without saying too much [there is nothing wrong with the storyline, but it does have the approach of joining the dots.]

Action: these sequences are mostly loud with plenty of weapons being used, some chasing sequences, hand-to-hand combat and many other things, they are a consistent theme throughout and they are well put together.

Comedy level: this element is based in the dialogue exchanges [as one-liners,] which are pleasantly just there being used at some point in this title.

Performances: the performances are reliable, the audience can identify quickly and efficiently who are the good guys or who are the bad guys.

This film receives: 90% approval now let me take some time to justify this percentage of approval. Now and again throughout my reviews there will be some titles like this one, where I cannot be too harsh simply because this title for an example, it says exactly what it is capable of doing by using the title "Commando " which should illustrate straightaway a theme of action, weapons being used, big explosions and so on and so forth and let's be fair this film has stood the test of time within the action genre.
