Review Time
The fight for Earthrealm continues:
briefly; before that; our story begins many moons ago on Edenia; where they
were in a very similar situation to Earth losing 9 Mortal Kombat tournaments;
Shao Kahn [Martyn Ford:] he is the ruler of Outworld and on defeating Edenia's
last champion: Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod; Kahn claims dominion over Edenia
and everyone in it; including but not limited to Princess Kitana [Younger:
Sophia Xu/Older: Adeline Rudolph:] the daughter of King Jerrod and now adopted
daughter of Kahn. But don't worry Earthrealm has the mighty power of Johnny
Cage [Younger: Indy Urban: Son/Older: Karl Urban: Father] in his younger days
he had lots of potential to become one of the best martial artists in the
world, but nowadays he is a washed-up action hero, that has a very good
relationship with his bartender [Ed Boon: he is one of the co-creators
alongside John Tobias of Mortal Kombat:] so Earthrealm is
completely screwed then?
Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 116
minutes film moves with purpose and understanding that it knows what and where
we are heading with enthusiasm throughout its entirety.
Art and action;
now either individually or/and simultaneously it is fantastic; you can see
or/and feel though high-quality of the artistic visions; set designs; for an
example stage fatalities, resurrections, costumes and accessories and other
things. Now before I continue I would like to state the obvious; that everyone
is entitled to their opinion, I will give that two seconds to sink in... ... I
can now carry on, with that being said I did hear some grumbling about the
special effects broadly speaking looking let's just go with negative and are
now seeing this film, can I just ask what the hell are you talking about?...
Because if I know what I think you are talking about at worst you are being a
dick or for the interest of being balanced any other body part you would like
to put here instead of a dick, but I digress; or at best you are being
extremely picky. Whatever the case may be, you haven't clearly noticed a
certain trend of modern cinema and TV to a certain extent; meaning by and large
the massive budgets for the vast majority of projects just isn't there anymore
on a consistent basis, you still may get now and again large budgets but
nothing compared to before the global pandemic and yes we may still get
millions spent on TV programs, but if they don't perform on whatever platform
they are on these days; they will quickly get cut even though by its fan base
it was positive.
So let's look at
one of the clearest possible example of everyone's discontent on a hypothetical
scare of, because I don't know, but if I had to guess; this would be one; Portal
stage within Outworld; where we have a Resurrections vs. Liu Kang [Ludi Lin:]
he is one of Earthrealm's greatest warriors and protectors: I don't have any
problems with this sequence of events it is highly engaging and spectacular, I
have just realised I have just summed up every sequence in this sequel: but I digress;
this one-on-one action sequence is awash with colour be it the stage itself
or/and the attacks or anything else, and because of this by other people's
prospective or opinions this may not be up to the highest standard.
But because I have
been around films and TV shows for a very long time now I can tell you what
they did and it is very simple; they can either make a sequence like this where
everything is free-flowing in keeping up with the sequence of events and
keeping within their budget of $80 million [which they have almost achieved
this budget at the box office] or make something stick out; either the
background or the performers performing including their special attacks or
anything else really, so everything feels like a separate entity in this
sequence and without a shadow of doubt balloon the budget to an astronomical
budget, virtually guaranteeing a loss of money and potentially a loss of any
further sequels/projects: so like I said everyone is entitled to their opinion,
but all I am saying is; you may want to look at the bigger picture before
shooting your mouth off, because as far as I'm concerned everything that has
been shown in this film; landscapes or action sequence or others; they have all
been designed with one main purpose to begin with and that is to give us a more
immersive experience and they passed that with sometimes incredibly brutally
graphic flawless victory.
Action, comedy and
character developments; Cage has got himself stuck in this one-on-one battle
now he has to just somehow get himself out of this situation; which he has no
other choice but to act his way out, which yes absolutely this is lots of fun
and consequently he makes a new ally; so I just have one little question which
is a big thing and it is absolutely 110% a missed golden opportunity to perform
Friendship and for those people that don't know; these are a series of
fatalities; one for each character to show kindness/leniency and in this case
Cage's is a signed autograph of himself; so all they had to do was have him
hand this over and say hold onto this until I return or something to that
effect.
Character
developments and performances; simply put the newcomers perfectly slot in with
returning cast; so we actually have a spot on blend between the newcomers of
characters/performers and returning experienced characters/performers and not
forgetting we also have individual growth as well, so everything is beautifully
set up for the third instalment.
This film receives: 10/10, this film is top-notch
entertainment; it clearly has so much to offer from beginning to end including
for a little while individual ending credits changes, so obviously it must be
seen at your local cinema or/and this is for later on after its cinema run, you
must find the bigger screen you can get your hands on and watch it to really
experience the full splendour and drawing of this movie.
As of this content
being first created I am absolutely devastated that this sequel does not have
one single accredited award to its name, sadly this film was in loving memory
to somebody, but I can't find the name. But I am going to dedicate this content
to the one and only; Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa 1950-2025; in every project I have
seen him in, he always had this and deniable ability to just stand out head and
shoulders and go head-to-head with his opposite; he has two legendary videogame
live-action performances accredited to his name Mortal Kombat 1995 as Shang
Tsung Link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2017/08/mortal-kombat-1995-by-averagemansreviews.html and Tekken 2009 as Heihachi Mishima link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2017/12/tekken-200910-by-averagemansreviews_7.html: RIP Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa:
you may be gone but your journey throughout cinema will keep you alive for
eternity.
