Real Talking Time:
Warning: if
you should go searching for any of these trailers relating to this franchise,
please be warned that there are adult or/and graphic scenes throughout and
there will be adult language references and censored adult language references
in one way or another in this content.
My reaction: to be brutally honest this is why Street Fighter 2026
should be afraid, because even though they come out and very different times
next year; this highly anticipated sequel sometime in May and Street Fighter
16/10/2026 as I have just referenced this sequel is highly anticipated and
based on the trailer which was the one that went on for 150 seconds; it
currently has a very strong and powerful idea of where it is going and what it
wants to cover and providing the box office takings are positive there is more
than likely going to be a sequel.
I
should cover my back a little by saying based on here and now this is just an
opinion and not fact, my opinion is based on in this trailer they are clearly
open up the MK Universe so hypothetically it would be incredibly easy to come
with a sequel in the future. In theory/opinion: I could be completely wrong, so
this is just based on what I have seen from this trailer; they have multiple
storyline narratives going on, but I will just pick out 2; the first clearly
involving everyone's favourite B-list martial arts actor Johnny Cage [Karl
Urban:] he fits this role perfectly, based on they are going with something a
little different here and I mean this nicely to Urban; but an older version of
Cage which both character and performer can simultaneously and naturally pull
off this sarcastic comedy and things of this nature and then on the other end
we have General Shao/Shao Kahn [Martyn Ford:] he is a mirthless tyrant of
Outworld [before I continue I am not sure if they are going with this narrative
here; I am pretty sure they will go with something like this, but you never
know, but I digress;] he breaks the rules of Mortal Kombat and brings his
forces to Earthrealm, Ford: I don't know too much about him even though looking
at his list of films I have seen him around in other projects in small roles,
I'm guessing this would be his first major role and he does look very much the
part as he is the height of 6'8 and an ex-professional bodybuilder with no hair
or shaved head and apparently weighs lb 350/25 stone: so as you can imagine he
isn't a small man and everything else seems to be really on point.
So
my prediction for this sequel is 9/10 or the full marks, the only thing
stopping me from doing this is the dreaded label of it being a sequel, meaning
I am quietly confident that this sequel will be top-notch entertainment, but
more often than not sequels have a habit broadly speaking of not being as
strong as the original instalment.
