Where Spider-Man when you need
him?: Briefly; when this young girl in
daughter of a Senator gets kidnapped, incomes Dr. Alex Cross [Morgan Freeman:]
it has been a while since we have seen him and as you will see things went
extremely south on his last case, but he is still a forensic psychologist and
alongside Secret Service Agent Jezzie Flannigan [Monica Potter:] she is good at
her job, but this happened on her watch and hopefully they can resolve this
case before it gets much worse, but very rarely go straightforward.
Generally speaking: the storyline/script and character developments are
disappointing, because without giving too much away; but at the same time to
make a point; it points to one individual straight away and a throwaway
comment, but predominantly focuses on one individual right? Because we don't
actually see any other possibility [Character building or any whiff of
suggestion] before its time to do so and that is all I can say about it really
without saying too much or giving anything away, yes we get the exposition on
Dr. Cross at the beginning of this movie; so at the very least that is solid
character developments. The framework and pacing as a stand-alone outlay for
this 104 minutes film is good
Action
and comedy; we have the standard do as I say tasks, chased down and guns being
used, now I did find it funny when we had Dr. Cross heading into this hotel and
go into reception he asks for this package or something to that effect; with
this really dramatic background music we have this person behind this front
desk looking for this mail, nice and slowly at this is a normal day at work and
eventually this package rings; I know it doesn't come from authentic comedy,
just as this scene is perceived by me.
Character
developments and performances; as yet again stand-alone character developments
and performances they are all solidly good; in particular the two performers I
have all you mentioned in the storyline section and now including the
performer; Michael Wincott; this trio do a lot for this film, yes usually I
would have awarded another mark, but then again I had to take off the mark
because of what I referenced earlier without giving too much away.
This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; I am just disappointed that it
couldn't somewhat as a viewer solve-a-long, or have multiple suspects
regardless of false or true; it doesn't matter, as long as you have suspects to
a certain extent that is what matters, so you don't end up with in essence this
really dry film which if you haven't seen it like myself until now; it in its
entirety is very deserving of this mark, could have been a bit more better than
what it is, there is an ongoing sequence underneath the ending credits This
film has some awards accredited to its name such as 1 Winner BMI Film & TV
Awards 2002 BMI Film Music Award Jerry Goldsmith and 1 Nominee Image Awards
(NAACP) 2002 Image Award Outstanding
Actor in a Motion Picture Morgan Freeman
