For
the Lin Kuei: briefly; in 1617 Japan
Bi-Han/another name [Joe Taslim:] he is an assassin for the Lin Kuei and
alongside these other assassins their mission is broadly speaking kill the
house of Hasashi, to stop this foothold life path from coming to pass so this
is what they did: but obviously Hanzo
Hasashi/another name [Hiroyuki Sanada:] he is a relatively quiet and happy man
with his family, but also highly skilled in the way of martial arts, so of
course he wasn't going to go down without a fight with a bloody encounter
ensued Bi-Han was victorious. But he didn't kill everyone; as Lord Raiden
[Tadanobu Asano:] he is a thunder god that is an overseer/protector of
Earthrealm; he cannot get directly involved in Mortal Kombat, but as you will
see he will help whenever he can also with wisdom; he finds this baby girl and
many decades later if Earth lose the next Mortal Kombat tournament that would
mean Outworld has won 10 in a row, so the fabric between the realms would fall
and humanity will go with it.
Generally
speaking: the script, framework and pacing
of this 110 minutes film is excellent; it invites its audience into this galaxy
of different places that providing you were around in/starting 1992 that most
of us grew up with this franchise, hopefully most of you will be happy with
this interpretation.
Art and action; they really did go into town on creating
these worlds/realms as these landscapes are truly amazing it from Japan 1617
Earthrealm with these two iconic characters doing combat or anywhere else they
really did have a clear idea for this franchise to come alive again and because
the action is of a graphic nature I can only put in a little bit for an
example; Jax Briggs [Mehcad Brooks:] he is an US Special Forces, that does his
part to find out more about Mortal Kombat vs. Reiko [Nathan Jones; yes the
ex-WWE wrestler:] he is a General in Shang Tsung's forces that tries to take
over Earthrealm before the next Mortal Kombat tournament. But back to this
sequence of events; we see it intermittently as there are other action
sequences taking place simultaneously, but we do witness Briggs pulling out one
of his fatalities known as "Head Clap" here is a basic description;
he uses is hands/arms to squash the individuals head like a pancake, where
broadly speaking as a moment of comedy he also acknowledges to himself that
these newly acquired accessories can stay: very briefly back to the artistic
temperament/visions they do the combat sequences just as in all of their
graphic glory which on one hand I am going to give high praise for obviously,
but also on the other hand just say may be; be a little selective who you show
this film to and make sure they are the right age; even though on some research
in the UK it has a 15 certificate in other countries it is subject to change
and they have the stomach for it.
Character developments, performances, voice performances
and comedy; yet again all these components are spot on, full disclosure I am
not too up-to-date with the newest characters, but other than that my knowledge
is wide and vast; so I am very delighted on how these characters/performers
have turned out, these performances and voice performances are very much spot
on and how these characters should be seen in a live action interpretation; for
one example Kano [Josh Lawson:] he wants was the leader of the Black Dragon
clan, but nowadays he a is mercenary for hire, he also is the comedy component,
which also plays into his character developments; he does have a habit of
saying what he likes when he likes in any way he likes, which then again feeds
into his character and the person he is; as he is fully aware of how to push
people's buttons, but be aware he also has a temper. I am paraphrasing here for
another example of the comedy as he is drinking the beer "You're beer is
poo and you are almost out of it."
This
film receives: 10/10, this film is top-notch
entertainment; for the way it has been set out and it's sense of realism within
this world of realms and not forgetting beginning this franchise with your two
oldest and legendary characters one of Ice and the other of Fire sets things up
perfectly, I hope they keep the narrative of the Lin Kuei going I know they have to focus on
other storyline component, but all I am hoping for is just keep Lin Kuei
narrative spinning, because if you know they themselves have a rich history
within the Mortal Kombat franchise, but we will have to wait and see in this
sequel Mortal Kombat II 2025. But this film also has some awards accredited to
its name; 4 Winner that include but not limited to Australian Academy of Cinema
and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards 2021 AACTA Award Best Production Design in
Film Naaman Marshall and Best Sound in Film Robert McKenzie James AshtonDes
Kenneally Adrian Medhurst Jed M. Dodge Phil Heywood. 9 Nominees which include
but not limited to and from the same award ceremony/event Best Cinematography

Prue Fletcher Avi Goodman Nicholas Tripodi
