One step too far: briefly; John Lee [Chow Yun-fat:] he is a contract
killer that refuses to complete this mission, consequently putting his family
at jeopardy, so you need the assistance of Meg Coburn [Mira Sorvino:] she is a
highly skilled forger of legal documents such as passports, but unfortunately
she get straight into this situation where Detective Stan "Zeedo"
Zedkov [Michael Rooker:] you would like to arrest them, hopefully before
Collins [Danny Trejo:] he is one of the replacement killers that has been sent
in to let's just say clean up.
Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 87 minute film is
good; let's be honest it has that very late 1990's early 2000's presentation
and feel to things, such as quick paced chaos which can be easily summed up
with in the opening section to this film we have a club sequence of events.
Action,
art and comedy; as I was saying; all of these action sequences are high
obtained, but also meticulously constructive chaos such as in one sequence of
events we have Lee/Yun-fat laying on this board with wheels sliding across the
floor taking care of these individuals, we have some cultural elements to
Buddhism and all of that representation, then we have some moments with Mister Magoo 1960-1962 [2 Seasons: 130 Episodes]
Character
development and performances; broadly speaking first of all; on both counts
they are reliably good versions of what they are meant to be. Now as it relates
to our partnership of the Lee/Yun-fat and Sorvino: there is a little of that
cultural divide, people from two different countries thing, but it focuses more
on the cultural divide of these two people from two different worlds from the
aspect of hired killer has to do his job to keep his family safe, whilst the
other is also doing criminal behaviour, but very much trying to keep her nose
clean other than that; which makes for interesting and engageable chemistry and
individual/partnership character developments and performances; so surprise
surprise I actually find the negative nomination award; not only extremely
harsh but completely unnecessary as well.
This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; yes I decided to award
this mark, based on by and large it is incredibly difficult to criticise the
film that doesn't do anything wrong and on top of that just clearly known what
it is from beginning to end; which in this case is pretty much non-stop action
and yes I didn't take too kindly to what I'm going to have to say next; The
