Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/burning/cutting/animal cruelty/references to homosexuality, Russia, suicide and shooting.

There is lots of problems at Downton Abbey: briefly; for one example; Lady Mary Talbot [Michelle Dockery:] she has recently gotten divorced which for the younger generations that don't know in the 1930's it is extremely bad for someone of that this character's stature and within social circles to be divorced. Violet Crawley [Maggie Smith:] appearance only in one way or another; she was the outspoken grandma of this family, but RIP Dame Maggie Smith CH DBE 1934-2024.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script; I have to be honest the references to change or things come to an end or you know any indication of that such as some of these characters feeling out of place in this new era is incredibly insufferable especially with in the first 25 minutes. Yes I can do with change and all that; that is absolutely fine, but my point is what clearly; Okay we get the point move on, but having said all that there are other times where making references to in a nutshell change it gets placed and represented in a very normal, smooth and natural way: which it does affect the framework and pacing of this 123 minutes film as it does feel like jarring and someone is constantly jab you; for an emotional response, where this kind of thing really doesn't work for me, in fact it works in an opposite effect of to begin with irritation and board at minimum. But it does get eventually lean off the garbage and becomes a better film to watch with natural emotional responses to take its place.

Art and action; the art continues to be a strong asset to this franchise in every way shape or form; be it landscapes or set designs or wardrobe and etc all the way some bits and pieces of singing and for the action we have a horse race.

Character developments, performances and comedy; on both counts they are solidly good; with the new members of the cast such as Paul Giamatti as Harold Levinson: he is the brother of Lady Grantham, he has been left in control of her affairs in America by her and just for the record no she isn't dead and we have a returning Hugh Bonneville as Robert Crawley: he is still the 7th Earl of Grantham, as he struggles to come to terms with handing Downton Abbey over to his and its successor and even for a drama film title the comedy is extremely limited for this brief example; we have this very little moment of some characters talking about having sex with their married partners and the fact is; it is fun.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; I mean it is a solidly good end to this franchise in its entirety, but as I have already referenced it does make consistent references to change as in times are changing and this can be both jarring and naturally placed in one way or another in this film and finally throughout the closing credits first section there is extra bits and pieces.
