In the year of 1838, in the town of Wisborg, Germany: in a nutshell; Ellen Hutter [Lily-Rose Depp:] she has recently gotten married which really doesn't sit too well with someone, but he will come in her head or physically, but wherever he goes death follows behind him.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 132 minutes film is roughly for the vast majority of the first half is slow and steady, but as you will read; it is down to one missing/absent character/performer, but after that it does have enthusiasm and real character.

Art and action; the art is the continuous and one of the biggest assets to this film, with I should give you a friendly heads up with a graphic representation, but putting that to one side; they did excellent at bringing this part of history to life and likewise using black and white and shadows such as when we have Count Orlok/Nosferatu across the land from above so we can see the land swiftly; this is a small piece of action, but it shows so much from the aspect of what he is capable of.

Character developments and performances; on both counts for the majority of the character developments and performances are all good; they all play their part with good chemistry. But let's be honest; this film needs the combined effort of Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok/Nosferatu: he wants his love and will not let anyone stand in his way. Then we have crucially Willem Dafoe as Prof. Albin Eberhart Von Franz: basically I am paraphrasing here when I say he is deemed to be essentially a bit of a crackpot with his theories and so on and so forth, but he is the only one that knows how to resolve this situation. Defoe in all rights should get nominated for an Oscar in the Best supporting role category or something to that effect, because he does really brings film to life; because the other two individually or/and together do a in hindsight a very good job putting in their versions/interpretations of their characters before Dafoe entries the film, but when he enters the film; things drastically improve from the drive of the project to Depp and Skarsgård individually or together being able to flush out their characters/multilayer character developments and/or performances; in a nutshell Defoe is the linchpin to this entire film and also Depp and Skarsgård so roughly speaking by the end of the film; we have three excellent performances, it is just a shame that we don't have Dafoe in this film much sooner as then I would have had no other choice but to award another mark.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; as I have already stated in one way or another artistically it is very beautiful and it does need William Dafoe as  Prof. Albin Eberhart Von Franz to be its firestarter. This film also has many awards accredited to its name; such as 30 Winners that includes but is not limited to Online Association of Female Film Critics 2024 OAFFC Award Best Cinematography Jarin Blaschke and 100 Nominees that include but not limited to from the same award ceremony/event OAFFC Award Best Costume Design Linda Muir 2nd place
