Let's
go and see Lady Raven in concept:
Cooper [Josh Hartnett:] is a dad/firefighter to his daughter Ripley [Ariel
Donoghue:] she is a fan of Lady Raven. Am I forgetting something Oh yes Cooper
is a massive interest to the authorities at this Lady Raven concert; Lady Raven
[Saleka Night Shyamalan:] she is a pop star and yes Saleka is the daughter of
the Writer/Director of this film M. Night Shyamalan which also has a role in
this film has Lady Raven's uncle; apologies I think his name gets mentioned
once and I missed it, but his job is a spotter.
Generally
speaking: the framework and pacing of this
105 minutes film is good; it does take some time for it to find itself, but
when it finds itself there is always a sense of we are going somewhere at a
good tempo/momentum.
Art, comedy and action; the art is clear to see when
Lady Raven is on stage performing; they really went with the approach of the
authentic concert experience and it is of the most highest quality. I should
quickly point out that this is not a comedy, but however we did get a reference
to doughnuts when there are a lot of protect and serve personal around and
there are other little bits and pieces of comedy. For the action and this is
not the only time I will say this; because they obviously had to put this in
the character developments and the performances as well; as we have this game
of chess outlay where Cooper is trying to figure his way out of any, but all
situations.
Character developments and performances; the character
developments are pretty much laid out for the viewers; so that
characters/performances can play a game of chess/escape or capture basically
and the performances of this cast ring from good to excellent; but on the whole
flow and chemistry from the entirety of this cast; the back and forth between
Cooper/Hartnett and Lady Raven/Saleka Night Shyamalan is priceless as they
don't mind putting on another.
This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; as I have already indicated this is a typical M. Night Shyamalan, so it is very much a case of if you like his work or not and there is one extra credit after the first bit.
