Revenge!: briefly and I think I can get away with this, because
it gets established relatively early in the film; Caesar [motion capture/voice
performance by Andy Serkis:] he is seeking revenge against the individual that
killed the majority of his family, a small number of apes willingly go with
him. The person they are seeking out is just simply known as "The
Colonel" [Woody Harrelson:] his name is Colonel J. Wesley McCullough; he
is most definitely someone that you don't want to cross as he is focused on his
mission. On our where travels we meet this chimpanzee, his name is Bad Ape, no
really that is his name [motion capture/voice performance by Steve Zahn:] he
helps Caesar and the others to where they want to go and he is our comical
relief in this film; he is comical.
Generally
speaking: the framework and pacing of this
140 minutes film is good; the travel sequences do feel a little bit too long or
you know that kind of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 2010 [if you
ever seen this film you know what I'm making reference to,] but it is no way
that bad I'm saying it starts to feel something like that, luckily the film
moves the film on before the true leggyness sets in.
Art and action; the landscapes and the entire visual
presentation of this film is mostly amazing as we have a change or whether and
the last scene of this film is how you deal with what is happening at that
time. But you did notice I didn't say mostly right? Now at some points in this
film you will see these green screen effects in the action; they are just
moments and I am not being picky, it is just when you come across them they
really look terrible, you'll find them in the action sequences. Speaking of the
action sequences putting these moments to one side; they are very impactful and
without giving too much away they bring the carnage [which this is not the only
time that Serkis and Harrelson has brought the carnage, as they have also
worked on Venom: Let There Be Carnage
2021; but Serkis behind the camera as the Director.] But back to this film; I
really do like this escape sequence, sometimes it is the simple yet
presentation on those action sequences that stay in your mind either longer or
easier to recall or permanent.
Character developments, motion capture/voice performance
and performances: all of the cast are good minus Serkis and Harrelson as they
individually or together lead this cast with impeccable chemistry as in their
own minds they are right in whatever they want to do, especially Caesar does he
want really want to cross that bridge and they talk about this in the film and
show it excellently as well.
This
film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; yes
it does have its little problems, but when things are on the right page then
this mark easily represents this film. This film also has awards to its name 28
