Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/vehicle hit and vehicle crash

I have gotten on the wrong train: Brian Stimpson [John Cleese:] a meticulous Headmaster at Thomas Tompion Comprehensive School and he has a very important event to attend and the annual Headmasters' Conference in Norwich, when he has no other option but to rope one of the student in to give him a lift in Norwich by the name of Laura Wisely [Sharon Maiden:] she is a student from Thomas Tompion Comprehensive School that originally is on a free period/study period, but her day get completely changed.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 96 minute film is best described as deadpan, such as the comedy and our lead character [a member of this partnership,] but I will discuss that in a little while, even though I acknowledge it is deadpan, it could have done with a little bit more get up and go to it, even though it is this way inclined.

Character developments, performances, action and comedy; they are good versions of what they are meant to be, the same can be said for the performances mostly, but it is the partnership of Cleese and Maiden that keeps this film going, we have Cleese doing his usual high quality best of basically finding himself in situations where it gets slowly either frustrated or angry, such as when he drives this car into a police car or his comical best giving or trying to give this speech without getting interrupted consequently, he slowly loses patience and goes into one. Meanwhile Maiden is the anchor/levelheaded one when she enters the film, so on both parts of the partnership they are important.

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; as I have already referenced Cleese really does make this film tick with/and Maiden and without him this film would have been on his knees. This film also has an award to its name; 1 Winner Evening Standard British Film Awards 1987 Peter Sellers Award for Comedy John Cleese
