Recommendation of: WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth 2024 by AverageMansReviews - Spoiler Alarm!
Warning/Disclaimers: there is flashing effects/colourful/adult language
including myself but I will censor it/blood warning. Disclaimer I know the
results and I have never been or likely to be a professional wrestler.
Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs.
Liv Morgan vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Naomi vs. Raquel Rodriguez; Elimination
Chamber Match for a Women's World Championship match at WrestleMania
XL/40/2024: Michael Cole correction himself
about saying koala bears and they aren't, they are just koalas; with Cory
Graves basically saying I could have told you that. Lynch and Naomi performer
these quick pin combinations and when Lynch does the back bridge up Naomi
slightly collapses in the rotation, but it is a good thing she is working with
Lynch as she quickly covers it up as Lynch set things up for a backslide pin;
please tell the camera person to not get so close to the action, because this
individual is really screwing up the mechanics of wrestling; as in on the
backslide pin we can clearly see Lynch does not have Naomi's near shoulder
hocked so it is easier for Naomi to kick out. I have no idea what is happening
here, Lynch seemingly goes in for a something like a heads scissor rotation;
yet this seems to be clunky as we progress through the rotation Lynch switches
it or attempts to switch it into "Dis-arm-her" and then a little
later we have both of these competitors going in for a running cross body [this
does come off as more than likely a planned spot; just to take incredibly short
breather.] I should point out Cole makes reference to Naomi looking better than
ever since her return, that may be but there has been a few hiccups in this
match so far. Cole calls a move wrong; he says it is a sunset flip power bomb;
performed by Naomi from I believe the far right pod onto Morgan, but however it
is a blockbuster. Cole calls another move wrong again; he calls it a spinning
side slam; but it has a variety of power slam, not side slam. Now for a bit of
comedy we get a reference about cricket on commentary where they both don't
understand the game. Cole calls again for the sunset flip power bomb as it
relates to Morgan, but it wasn't; yes she was trying then successfully generate
some momentum sequence of rotation, but no is still wasn't a sunset flip.
Graves called out the wrong name, but corrects itself from Lynch to Belair,
Morgan at the very latest stages performers pin and let's just say she needed a
second attempt to get it done. Finally for this section; because of the likely
nature of this crowd I have taken that into consideration and gave this
section. This match/match slot: receives 8/10.
New Catch Republic: Pete Dunne
& Tyler Bate vs. Champs The Judgement Day's: Finn Bálor & Damian Priest
[Dominik Mysterio;] Tag Team Match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team
Championship: so we have a new tag team of New
Catch Republic and we already have the commentary team poking fun at the name
between them; Graves basically pointing out something to the effect of; it
sounds like somewhere that my wife would get clothing from which Cole going right.
I mean we have a new partnership here and instead of building up as they
should, I know Graves before this said something to the effect of the likes
these guys, but it doesn't help when you are taking or poking fun at their tag
team name. They should reassure you at some point a black screen comes up, it
is a technical issue but if you give it a few moments we get back to the
wrestling. Without giving too much away this match... well one we can focus on
the wrestling over the pageantry then cool, the crowd continued to be as I can
politely described as vocal so once again taking them into consideration. This
match/match slot: receives 8/10.
The Grayson Waller Effect: with Austin Theory & Grayson Waller, the WWE World
Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins & Cody Rhodes. This slot receives 8/10.
The WWE United States Champion
Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton vs. The Pride's Bobby Lashley vs. LA Knight vs.
Kevin Owens vs. Drew McIntyre; Elimination Chamber Match for a World
Heavyweight Championship Match at WrestleMania XL/40/2024: Knight makes his entrance and Cole puts over on
commentary that basically McIntyre does not look impressed, but we can clearly
see that McIntyre has the look of a heel, but also has a little nod that Knight
has a little something about him as in this guy is possibly my biggest threat,
if I can get rid of him; this is a completely misread by Cole or whomever is
giving him this line over his head said or better yet they are trying to paint
something that isn't there. We have the CM Punk chants by the crowd and getting
mentioned on commentary by Cole, with McIntyre using this to get more heat of
the crowd and likewise on commentary again. Graves brings up Punk's finish Go
To Sleep with Cole making reference to the fact that he just made reference to
that, with Graves saying I was caught up in the moment, with Cole highlighting
Punk again. Well this is just stupid Knight is banging McIntyre's forehead of
Owens' pod and then Owen is apparently delivering these forearm shots to
McIntyre's head through the pod, with Michael Cole indicating seriously that is
effective. How is that effective? When Owens is just essentially hitting his
pod with his forearms, I mean at most McIntyre will feel the vibrations of
these forearm shots and that is about it; so it is just stupid on the aspect of
this apparent double team, but also Cole yet again trying to push a narrative
that so isn't there. Backup camera person; your exposing the wrestling
business, as you are too close to the action as we can clearly see Owens whisper
something to Knight in his ear just before whipping him into the opposite
turnbuckle. Then it happens again as Owens whips Knight into McIntyre in the
original corner we began in, yes we can't see it much from this angle, but I
can hear something being said and there is just enough movement for me to pick
up on it, so the camera people may want to just backup a little or whomever is
directing the action, you may want to rotate the camera shots a bit more
frequently so that the wrestlers can clearly pass notes to one another, which I
don't mind this is so much as long as it isn't obvious and it wouldn't be in
this case if the camera people or the director or whomever was just a little
bit more on the ball, I just want to make this crystal clear in this match
slot, the wrestlers themselves are not doing anything wrong, they are trying
their best to communicate/hide it up, but as I have already indicated in some
way or another; the camera people or/and the director or producer of this match
slot needs to back things up a little or rotate things around so the viewers
don't see it so clearly. Cole brings up Michinoku Driver when McIntyre just
scoop slams Knight, I mean McIntyre doesn't even sit down/drive down so how can
it be a michinoku driver he is standing up, this is just really poor
commentary, well at this point in this match slot anyway. We get a Slim Jim's
showdown clock, Randy Orton performs his draiping DDT on Owens on the outside
of the ring, this gets spoken about on commentary, hopefully there is no major
injury here to Orton. Bobby Lashley receives assistance on leaving the chamber
from referees, I hope he is okay. My sentiment goes out to Knight as well after
he performs a super suplex on McIntyre on the far right top turnbuckle; yes
they both looked fine and continue after this. But it is one of those occasions
where Knight seems to take a bit too much of a bump on the back as you may not
have gotten of McIntyre over as Graves says something to the effects of Knight
is feeling the effects I know there is always a possibility he is selling, but
it did look a little bit of a dead lift as well, that is why I am bringing up.
Knight hits his blunt force trauma on Orton, but as the commentary team put
over he doesn't catch it all or/and Orton tries to block it. Once again I hope
Orton is okay, because he performs a leapfrog and seemingly jades his closest
knee to us on the way down. How can I put this without giving too much away,
because of the later stages of this match and beyond, in short you do one or
the other, you don't do both, even though I do get why it potentially sets
things up for Mania on both counts and finally we get another showing of Slim
Jim's, I will award another mark based on an appearance of somebody to announce
the attendance for this event. This match/match slot receives: 7/10.
Nia Jax vs. Champ The Judgement
Day's Rhea Ripley; Singles Match for the WWE Women's Championship: Graves gets confused about the two competitors but also
corrects himself, Rhea Ripley performs this version of a hurricanrana [first
one,] I know this doesn't get Jax off her feet, but my point here is; she
doesn't do much to sell it or work with Ripley. This indicates to me straight
away that it will be Ripley that has to try and make Jax look good and it has not
escaped my notice that the commentary team are really trying to put Jax over.
Jax performs this samoan drop from the left second rope and it looks just about
safe, you know it is one of those things where is she attempts this again in
this match it could very easily go a little bit south or worse. If you have
guessed by now I am really not liking this match/match slot we have a table
sport that is not convincing, followed by Jax performing her finishing the
Annihilator [Banzai drop] I mean I have spoken about this before Reactionary To
The Wrestling News of: Nia Jax WWE Return on Raw 11/09/2023 Link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2023/09/reactionary-to-wrestling-news-of-nia.html and I very much don't like it; you can call
me a sexist if you want, but however there is a level of protection to my
thinking process of whoever she may be working with may have implants and the
fact is she isn't going down gently, I just don't like it. If I call out one I
have to call out the other; where in the previous match slot we had this been
performed from this top turnbuckle super suplex, in this case it is almost
identical there is one noticeable difference it feels like and looks like
Ripley had to work hard to be the driving force behind this move to make it
look solid [yes this one looked noticeably a low quality as the two men were
working together and as I have already indicated Ripley had to work hard to
make things look solid.] This is an absolute disgrace this match/match
slot/main event only lasts for roughly 15 minutes; this is ball shish kebab.
Cole has a little glitch trying to pronounce homecoming, the commentary team
are still trying to put over Jax basically indicating this may be the
performance of Jax's career, both women and this main event, but I will do a
nice thing and award another mark, just based on the fact that any camera shot
we got to see you Ripley with her family for a moment or two. This match/match
slot receives: 5/10.
The average mark of this
pay-per-view is: 8/10, this is just based on; this
is the mark you see most frequently in this event, so I just went off the average
and finally it should be noted that the crowd were lively throughout and they
really did their part to make this event energetic and enthusiastic.
