Warning/Disclaimer: I will censor my language, but there will be softer adult language references and disclaimer I don't care about tribalism, I have made it crystal clear over since I have been producing wrestling content, I don't like Mr. McMahon, yes you may have revolutionised the wrestling industry, but over quite a few decades now he is just a terminal cancer and yes I have no problem with phrasing it in this manner.
There clearly seems to be problems: I mean when was it acceptable to do all of this [look at related content] and more including Austin Theory whilst in Australia having to put up with the fudgin' question of is wrestling fake? I will say this one more time it is simulated combat which yes everything is predetermined, but other than that these performers can and do still get hurt and in some cases to a real life changing extent. I mean unless you are about 12 or 13 years old asking and I mean generally asking a wrestler how much of this is real? Where generally speaking the rest in question should go; "The result is predetermined, I am trying not to harm who I am working with, but everything else we do physically to one another is very unreal." You know you can't blame a youngster for asking a sensible question, who knows they may be wanting to become a wrestler themselves so as the old expression goes "There is no stupid question." But to have grown posterior man ask this stupid fudgin' is infuriating and I am not even a wrestler, so providing that the wrestlers in question don't hit the person asking this question I can condone any other action they so choose to take.
Now
we have Bianca Belair receiving racist comments on her social media, now I
haven't come across this [no I'm not here to disprove that, based on the
support she has been receiving from fellow wrestlers, so I believe it is
happening.] But as a content creator, it is just easier to be backed up by a
little evidence. As a disabled individual separately with mental health on top
I receive all kinds of abuse be it on social media or in the real world, it is
a part of my life and Belair's life [on different aspects,] should it be
happening? No. Should it be accepted? No. The only thing that can be done
consistently is if; other platform users don't like the comment or share the
comment or give this individual the time of day. An example one person could be
unpleasant towards me and their comments on limited occasions get so many
likes, because generally speaking they are being negative and unpleasant so
what the other users are doing is giving this person everything they want, with
positive or negative reinforcement by sharing it or liking it or commenting
against me or any other comment, how about not giving them the time of day.
The
sad thing is; I have noticed ever since the Cody Rhodes situation with he has
got to finish his story and the WWE seemingly backing down or backing down for
now. They have unknowingly created tribalism within their own universe where
you are either with Cody Rhodes or against Cody Rhodes, which is absolutely
stupid. You are aware that there are bigger things happening in the world
right? Consequently I have seen on social media really unpleasant signs like
something to the effect of Die Rock Die. This is completely fudgin' not
wrestling. As I have said in other content I think if my memory is correct it
is the one with Johnson in the title where I basically said something to the
effect of, because of this backlash and unnecessary behaviour there is no way
in hell I would have given them what they wanted at this year's Mania, no
seriously I would have stuck to my guns and put it on the following year, just
on principle that; we don't reward that kind of behaviour and secondly no one
deserves to be receiving death threats.
As
I said on social media at some point recently hypothetically speaking; the WWE
have made dangerous president for whenever the fans don't like something, they
will now just resort back to this behaviour just to get what they want, when
they want.
Because
of all this shish kebab; I am so not interested in Mania this year as things
stand [I was thinking I would just cover my back.] Don't get me wrong I will
watch it, but with more of a let's just get through this kind of thing going
on, instead of an example NXT Stand & Deliver 2024 should be lots of fun
and a lot of good matches, my point here is; give me wrestling instead of this
hostility.
Regardless
of what happens at Mania this year nothing will be finished even if Rhodes gets
to finish off his story, because we will just be in another situation where
this main brand champion cannot lose at all and I mean that from the
perspective of Reigns' loses his championship people will be angry, Rhodes'
loses his championship at some point within I would suggest 18 months, his fan
base are going to want revenge somehow [you know this is all made up right as
in kayfabe/not reality not without being disrespectful to any wrestler life or
death or death.]
Yes
I wanted long-term storyline booking, but as usual regardless of what regime is
in control, they find something good and just run it into the ground. As I have
already outlined whatever decision they make they can't win, yes Rhodes will
probably win at Mania this year, but the more I watch how this situation is
developing online, I would say 65% to 35% that Rhodes is going to win the
championship and finish the story. But as these percentages would suggest, I
wouldn't be too surprised if we see some kind of swerve that irritates
everybody. But I just wanted to get this content out there waiting for Mania
has been and gone so let I have the grace of I said this before anything
happened.
Now
to wrap up this content; as you can probably guess I am not happy with the
current toxicity that surrounds the wrestling industry, I know; I know it has
always been there and it will always be there, but at the same time it has
never reached this kind of toxicity even in the prime of the WCW vs. WWF back
in the day, I know in comparison the Internet was in its infancy, I am not even
saying you can't express your opinion based on wrestling, I am just saying you
can't generally speaking go up and beyond aiming in some fashion your dislike
of a wrestler personally or their fan base once again personally of
unacceptable level, in essence what I am saying is; over more recent times
generally speaking the fun aspect of wrestling has been sucked out of it and I
can't wait until we begin to focus away from this more and more but I can see
this going on for may be another couple of years in some fashion.
