You have Snake Eyes: basically; we have Detective Rick Santoro [Nicholas
Cage:] he is a very crooked detective that is right in the middle of this
situation when it goes down; as this boxing match is taking place in this
location, there is this terrorist act, so he/us the viewers are now
investigating this crime scene/location.
Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 98 minutes film is
well structured; as it comes from the outlay of seeing things from different
perspectives in this film, the only thing I didn't like about this framework
which this film is based on is; from time to time there is this loud and
dramatic background music, but the problem is it really doesn't fit smoothly
with what is happening on screen at that time; it is best described as trying
too hard to create this atmosphere, which feels out of place and when you hear
it; you will notice it.
Action/Art/Comedy;
Jose Pacifico Ruiz [Adam C. Flores:] Contender for this championship vs.
Champion Lincoln Tyler [Stan Shaw:] he
is withholding a secret as things don't seem to be kosher as we see some
punches being thrown and seeing things from different perspectives and at one
point some real bad acting as it relates to this situation
character
developments and performances; they are good character types of what they are
meant to be, with performances to define these character types and to give them
more substance and well-roundedness.
This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; if you haven't seen it either
before or for years it is well worth a watch, especially if you are a fan of
Nicholas Cage, there is also an ongoing extra scene throughout the closing
credits. This film also has some awards accredited to its name; such as 1
Winner Blockbuster Entertainment Awards 1999 Blockbuster Entertainment Awards
Favorite Actor – Suspense Nicolas Cage and 4 Nominees that includes from the
same award ceremony/event Favorite Supporting Actor - Suspense Gary Sinise [as
Commander Kevin Dunne; a long-term friend of Detective Santoro and dealing with
this ongoing situation also] and Favorite Supporting Actress - Suspense Carla
Gugino [as Julia Costello:] is here at this night of boxing for a secret
meeting.
