Banish from Athens: basically; Hercules/Uncle [Baby: Tamas Csernu/Young Child: Aden G. Wright/Adult: Dwayne Johnson:] he is a demi-god a son of Zeus, that once was a protector of Athens. But nowadays with his band of characters; they are mercenaries. So eventually they are training King Cotys [John Hurt:] the ruler of Thrace army for Hercules' weight in gold, but eventually this King isn't what he originally claimed to be.

Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 98 minutes film, is like the rest of it reliably good, what can I say really this entire film has everything set down in as I have already indicated it reliably good outlay.

Comedy; for an example we have a running joke Amphiaraus [Ian McShane:] he is a seer, which sees visions from the gods, he is a part of Hercules band of mercenaries, in one of his visions the gods tell him he has a week to live and am paraphrasing here he will die by a burning arrow, which he accepts that. So in the rest of the film, the viewers get to see him have a death wish as he embraces any occasion with a burning arrow including Hercules spoiling his moment, by saving his life, even though I have said this as one example there are other little bits and pieces, but this is the main comedy focal point.

Art and action; this individually or together is all good as we get to see Hercules taking on these mystical creatures or/creature and army sequences and battle sequences and other action sequences.

Character developments and performances; they follow their character designs, with good chemistry from this cast.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; but let's be honest here yes the cast are well assembled, but it's Johnson that is the biggest draw, but let's be respectful there is Hurt for the older audience members, which it was always good to see him in any project he was working on and this film is built for a family viewing on a Saturday night takeaway or/and a lazy Sunday afternoon, please keep in mind of an average age of teenager and up. This film has some awards accredited to its name Teen Choice Awards 2014 Teen Choice Awards Choice Summer Movie Star Dwayne Johnson and from the same award ceremony/event Teen Choice Awards Choice Summer Movie.
