Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/man on woman violence/breaking/disfigurement/shooting/animal cruelty

I'm listening: in summary; after dealing with some other business to why he is in this location; Chilli Palmer [John Travolta:] a intimidating mobster; pitchers this idea to  Harry Zimm [Gene Hackman:] a film producer that is having money problems, with this well assembled cast we get to see the shady side of the film industry amongst other things.

Generally speaking: the pacing and framework of this 105 minutes film is solely based on this cast as the outlay of this film is very much a talkie-talkie; it could be talking about shady business, this film or films and other general stuff. So the character developments are designed as they either reveal their naivete or/and weasel like behaviour or/and they have became experienced in their individual lives and wise to how these games are played.

So what we have is a progressive film, with well rounded characters and performances with story arcs that may or may not be directly connected but in the grand scheme of things it works excellently.] As you can tell the cast make this film, it could be a small role or a supporting role or a main role, it doesn't matter everyone brings something to the table.

Action/Comedy: yes we get a little bit of these two components; for two examples Palmer sending Bear [James Gandolflni:] he is a stuntman, that has fallen on hard times that works for Bo Catlett [Delroy Lindo:] that Zimm owes him and his partner Ronnie Wingate [Jon Gries:] in a nutshell money; but I digress Bear  down a flight of stairs or winding him in a small action sequence. There is also a little bit of comedy here and there in the dialogue exchanges for an example;  Martin Weir [Danny DeVito:] a renowned actor that Palmer and Karen Flores [Rene Russo:] a middle aged performer that has done some movies for Zimm, but in this scene we have Weir pulling these meant to be serious faces or you know trying to get inside the character that they want him to portray and you have Palmer criticising it, this is not the only time Weir shows these faces later on he likes to show how they are progressing.

This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; in hindsight I decided to award this film an extra mark, based on this cast and everything they bring to the table, consequently this film is one of those films that you need to see once in your lifetime and yes this film has awards accredited to its name. 6 Winners that includes Golden Globes, USA 1996 Golden Globes Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical John Travolta. 16 Nominees that includes Screen Actors Guild Awards 1996 Actors Outstanding Performance by a Cast Danny DeVito Dennis Farina James Gandolfini Gene HackmanDelroy Lindo David Paymer Rene Russo John Travolta.
