South Africa:
briefly; Matt J. Weston [Ryan Reynolds:] he works for the CIA as a Safe House
operative of Safe House 7-R. He is still new and thirsty to prove himself which
has a stroke of luck would have it; he wouldn't have to wait too long. As his
safe house is hit and these other CIA Agents escorting/extraction team for
Tobias Frost [Denzel Washington:] he is a highly skilled Ex-CIA Agent turned
criminal has this information that everyone else wants; they are killed. It is
basically up to Weston to complete the mission as they can't get another
extraction team out to them for 12 hours.
The framework and pacing for this
115 minutes film is straightforward; as it has a plan and sticks to that plan.
Action: as I
have already indicated it follows a simple yet effective outlay of action from
the beginning of this mission until its conclusion; yes we have shooting,
vehicle chasing; they are all solidly good; you know there isn't too much I can
say about them really, they do they solidly good job.
Art: much
later on we get our partnership travelling in a vehicle with this birdseye
perspective of what I believe to be, but I could be wrong of wheat fields and
there is some more scenes with this wheat field just from a different
perspective from average height prospective with sky as well; these little bits
and pieces are very eye-catching art.
Character developments and performances: the character developments and performances are
generally speaking; reliably good versions of what they are meant to be, I
can't say too much more than that, because of the design of these characters.
But I'm going to put this really nicely; this film is greatly helped by
Washington or/and Reynolds as single or a partnership of characters they make
this film and if you like your only by character design but also by age gap of
these performers you have the senior performer in Washington gelling with an up
and comer like Reynolds as well.
This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; I know I have already
mentioned this; but the chemistry between/partnership between Denzel the
Washington and Ryan Reynolds makes this film, so you like one or both of these
performers give film a go, it is one of those films that you can a takeaway out
and be solidly entertaining. This film also has some awards accredited to it.
