In 1994: in a
nutshell; we have the Autobots and their leader Optimus Prime [voiced by Peter
Cullen:] a battle hardened leader that doesn't trust humans, that wants to stop
Scourge [voiced by Peter Dinklage:] the leader of the Terrorcons; the
Terrorcons serve their master Unicron [voiced by Colman Domingo:] this is the
biggest character in the Transformers universe as he devours planets, basically
you have the Transformers version of Galactus from Marvel. Unicorn wants the
Terrorcons to locate this Transwarp Key so he can use it, but don't worry Prime
will find in one way or another some new allies to hopefully prevent this from
happening.
The framework and pacing of this
127 minutes film is well; now allow me to get something off my chest which has
been bugging me for some time the interception of this franchise in 2007, I
have no doubt I have already discussed this already in this franchise at one
point or another. But can we please, please, please, please for the love of god
stop using these slow motion effects in this series of films, yes in this film
they look a bit more smoother. But other than that they still to this very day
annoy me greatly, it is mainly down to this franchise and basically the late
1990's and well into the 2000's+ we have this annoying over usage of these slow
motion effects in the action sequences, to the point where any time it is not
used for something positive it sets me off. The pacing is upwardly mobile and
yes when they are action sequences it is quicker.
Art/Action/Comedy:
the landscapes, the science fiction component and the ending credits art all
look engaging [ just to cover my back; I know that out one point or another
they have these little bits and pieces of slow motion effects, but I am talking
about the real-time slow motion effects that I don't like.] For the action
there are some sequences that were likewise engaging such as for an example;
the chasing sequence involving Noah Diaz [Anthony Ramos:] ex-military and good
with computers stealing this car what in actual fact is Mirage [voiced by Pete
Davidson:] he is a Autobot, which is quick more than likely to rush into a
situation without thinking first. So even though he locked his doors again from
being stolen in his predominately secondary mode of vehicle; a silver-blue
Porsche 964 Carrera RS 3.8/other modes of transformation, the second time he
was broken into he was up for what transpired next. Noah being rumbled by the
police, Noah being locked inside Mirage, but Noah trying to explain to the
security guard that it isn't him and Noah doing this terrifying thing
throughout this sequence, as it relates to the comedy; this is one of the
better moments.
Character developments, performances and voice
performances: I mean collectively on all three
counts they are good, but it does feel and look as they are following their
character types, consequently the performances from or/and the voice
performances feel like as I have already said good, but also going through the
motions. But let's be honest, if we are really going to be honest here it does
also feel and look like as are collectively left noticeably high and dry from
the framework and pacing as well, so as you can clearly see/read it is unfair
of me just to lay this all at the performers or/voice performers feet when it
the framework pacing has clearly had a knock-on effect.
This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; the person I watched this
film with said that they thought it was good. But for me this mark tell you
everything you need to know about this film and yes somewhere around about the
first ending credits there is one extra scene.
