5 Years Later: I know the film begins 5 years earlier, but let's begin here; this convict Ex-Boston Police Officer Spenser [Mark Wahlberg] gets released after serving his time for heavily assaulting now Captain Boylan [Michael Gaston] and Boston Detective Terrence also called "Alter Boy " [Graham Brandon Scales] which are both now murdered. Spenser at one point or another has help from Hawk [Winston Duke,] Harry [Alan Arkin] and Spencer's off and on again firecracker of a girlfriend Cissy Davis [Iliza Shlesinger] to solve this case.

The pacing of this 111 minutes film is predominantly like the rest of it slow and steady, is safe and reliable outlay of a film which in turn is predictable.

I don't have too much to say about this film, the action and comedy are mostly linked such as when we first meet spends in prison we have this slow build-up to Spenser getting attacked in prison with this serious comical delivers before this combat sequence or/and we have Spenser rang away from this dog which to begin with is chained up outside his home or/and much later on Spenser with Hawk in the navigator's seat is in this truck without trailer with the name of "Black Betty" to make a big entrance into hostile territory.

The character developments and the performances; well as I have already made reference to they are safe and reliable versions of what they are meant to be, if somewhat predictable as it relates to one aspect. The performances; on reflection these performances are a reflection of their character types, but also I feel I should point out that they had to deal with the fact that this film is slow taking that into consideration these performances are good; the chemistry between this cast is all good. But then again it does help when you have a wild card in likewise as I have already made reference to Cissy Davis [Iliza Shlesinger] as a firecracker; she is a very passionate hot-blooded woman which doesn't take any rubbish if also just a little sprinkling of nuts.

 This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; I have already indicated it is predictable and after everything is said and done it finds itself at this mark. This film also has 2 Nominees to its name Critics Choice Super Awards 2021 CCA Super Award Best Actress in an Action Movie Iliza Shlesinger and People's Choice Awards, USA 2020 People's Choice Award Favorite Male Movie Star Mark Wahlberg.
