Warning: there is beheading/capital punishment/suicide/chopping/cutting/shooting/stabbing/slavery/torture/scarring

Revenge is best served by a sword: both Don Diego de la Vega/Zorro/Barnardo [Anthony Hopkins and Alejandro Murrieta/Zorro/Don Alejandro del Castillo y Garcia [Younger Alejandro Murrieta; José María de Tavira/Older; Antonio Banderas] are both looking for revenge against the people that have wronged them individually in Don Rafael Montero [Stuart Wilson] and Captain Harrison Love [Matt Letscher] so it is one adversarial each and put in the mix is Elena Montero [Catherine Zeta-Jones.]

The pacing for this 136 minutes film is solidly good; it very much just sticks to the plan. The action generally speaking has comedy put them as well; like for example Alejandro Murrieta/Zorro wants to basically continue with this quick getaway, but to continue that he needs to rely on his horse [Tornado] that does what he wants when he wants or will remind his owner that he doesn't control him, such as in this situation; Alejandro Murrieta/Zorro thinks it is okay to just drop down on to Tornado and gallop away, but Tornado has a different idea as when Alejandro Murrieta/Zorro drops down Tornado moves forward so Alejandro Murrieta/Zorro has a very hard landing on the ground below.

The art; the landscapes, scenery, costumes and all that including we have Spanish Tango being performed by Alejandro Murrieta/Zorro/Don Alejandro del Castillo y Garcia [Antonio Banderas] and Elena Montero [Catherine Zeta-Jones;] this was an excellent sequence, it felt free-flowing and natural.

Character developments and performances; they are all good, there is good chemistry between everyone, but a special mention has to go out to Anthony Hopkins whomever he works one or multiple people, it is really easy to see why in the past or in the present or in the future he continues to get work, he just brings whomever he works with up to his level.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; as the person that I watched this film said" It is a pleasant film" I would have to concurrent with that with the extra of if you are on your own or have friends or family around, it is a lazy afternoon film which is easy-going and I have awarded another mark based on Anthony Hopkins performance/influence on this film. It also has Won awards; 9 Winners for some examples; ALMA Awards 1999; ALMA Award; Outstanding Actor in a Feature Film Antonio Banderas [at the same award ceremony/event] Outstanding Performance of a Song for a Feature Film Marc Anthony Tina Arena For the song "I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You". 18 Nominees 2 Academy Award, USA 1999; Oscar; Best Sound Kevin O'Connell Greg P. Russell Pud Cusack.
