Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [Season 2,] Episode 96: The Great Bookala Escape by AverageMansReviews

Review Time:

5 things about this episode

Warning: there are flashing/colourful/other effects

Storyline: it is good; it knows what it is doing from beginning to end and sticks to the plan.

Serpentera is like the Death Star: massively powerful and has the capabilities to wipe out planets; but of what I can see it has one ever so slightly tiny design flaw like the Death Star, which if it is a small trip and a quick destruction of a planet and an alien race; Lord Zedd and Goldar [the pilot of Serpentera] should have no worries getting home to the Moon.

But if it requires a long distance or a long battle or both Serpentera is going to quickly and eventually stop working, because he goes through his power supply way too quickly which could leave him vulnerable to an attack, if they are not able to escape and return to the Moon on the remaining of his power supply at that time [if it should happen/before I receive any backlash from the Star Wars community, yes I know that the design flaw was purposely built in by Galen Erso.]

Spaceship: yes when you see this episode I am fully aware that the movement of this spaceship is cheesy, but it is good cheese. I do like everything to do with this spaceship, so this art is imaginative.

Bloopers: I have never seen this done before or I must have forgotten it because I don't remember it; but I am going to still see it as a blooper because it makes no sense Billy/The Blue Power Ranger destroys the first monster in this episode with his Blade Blaster, so Lord Zedd's meant to be more powerful/his monsters are meant to be more powerful than Rita Repulsa and her monsters all I am going to say is this; "It looks like it; Not!"

The second blooper is really obvious; Adam says "It's morphing time!" Which is absolutely fine; But I am positive that someone had chosen the wrong camera shot/angle, because usually when any of the Power Rangers in their civilian attire say these legendary words, the camera shot is straight on or straight angle, but in this case Adam is looking at I think where the camera should have been and not where it is; so he isn't doing anything wrong to be fair to him; he is just getting on with his work so all credit to him.

Finally why have all The Power Rangers removed their helmets to say goodbye to the Bookala when where they are anyone could see them and possibly identify them? This seems like an unnecessary risk to me.

This episode receives: 6/10, this episode is good; this is a pleasant yet slightly different episode to what we are used to seeing. But at least the standard of these episodes are stabilizing around this mark now.
