Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/ sexual assault/burning/stabbing/cutting/shooting/animal cruelty/burning/drowing/torturing/medical/ references to intercourse with animals I believe, but I could be wrong.

In 1713 a business deal goes wrong: briefly; Rob Roy MacGregor [Liam Neeson:] he is the Clan Leader of the same last name, brokers a deal with James Graham, 4th Marquess of Montrose [John Hurt:] he is the top guy of this area, so pretty much what he says goes, but when it is time for payment of this deal something goes wrong there is treachery a foot.

Generally speaking: storyline/script is nicely lay down, so the framework and pacing of this 139 minutes movie follow suit, but after some time roughly around just before and during the middle section of proceedings it does go into this conserve mode And it just keeps things moving until just before the final quarter and beyond, so in essence it does everything it should do to get one specific mark, which no surprise will be reflected in the closing section of this content.

Art, action and comedy; the art is very clear to see as they have done a really good job of bringing this part of history to life and in all of its glory as well, what with its location designs, set designs, costumes and accessories all of being authentic qualities. likewise the action sequences are of this time period as well be it with muskets or/and pistols/guns that need time to refill/reload or these one-on-one sequences of honour and other reasons, now this is one of the rare occasions that all I can do is acknowledge from time to time there may be comedy of a mature or/and adult references.

Character development and performances; on both counts they are very good versions of what they are meant to be, coinciding with performance to match their characters; this is very much the cast performance all working on another to ensure the success of this  movie, but is it me or does Neeson’s Scottish accent gradually get toned down, from the very start it is very strong and by the end of the movie it is nowhere near so strong; still a very good performance and leads the cast by a very good example, he has an excellent so foe in Tim Roth as Archibald Cunningham; without giving too much away he is very much aware of his station in life and enjoy taking full advantage of it. Roth portrays and excellent, devious and unpleasant individual

This film receives: 7/10,This film is good; I would have given slightly something higher if essentially this film did kind of do this kind of plateau thing where in the middle all around here; so the beginning is strong, then it gradually plateaus and then it takes things up heading into the final quarter, so if you haven't seen this film before or yet it is a good watch and yes it does have some award accredited to its name such as; 2 Winners which include but not limited to BAFTA Awards 1996 BAFTA Film Award Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role Tim Roth and 5 Nominees also include but not limited to Academy Awards, USA 1996 Oscar Best Actor in a Supporting Role Tim Roth
