A Bourne, a Bat, a Cat a Punisher, a Ground sloth a Raiden, a Spider and his wife: briefly; this is about the journey of Odysseus [Matt Damon:] he is King Ithaca/the leader of his army of being victorious and now wants to get home to his Queen of Ithaca Penelope [Aaron Hathaway:] she is a strong will Queen of Ithaca, they have a son by the name of Telemachus [Tom Holland:] a headstrong off-spring and means well, but is still a bit young in the ways of how things are done, but he will learn; they just may have a very long wait to see each other again though.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script is okay if that is the way they wanted to go with it, but the exposition character developments, coinciding with the framework and the pacing of this 172 minutes film best described for its vast majority [minus roughly the last 30 minutes] as diabolical; I mean what were they thinking? What with these exposition character developments of previous events being a consistent theme/including ongoing/present events and on top of that after going down a rabbit hole to then be basically be picked up and then dropped off in a different section of the storyline and possibly from time to time repeat the cycle or develop that section further and then go somewhere else and so on and so forth for at least roughly 134 minutes is insufferable.

There is absolutely no consistency, or gusto or enthusiasm for as I have already indicated a large amount of this film; so you can't just sit down and watch this film you have to go through the agonising thing of; where are we now? Who are we with? And etc? And for the pacing... What pacing? But can be brutally honest what chance has it got of any form of pacing is it has to get picked up and put down again until the closing section of this movie...

What they should have done is... use a chapter by chapter divider in this movie and by doing so in theory they could have given this film is supremely better structure and consequently enthusiastic pacing; you see by using this method/outlay it would have limited the moving around and at the beginning and at the end of every chapter they could have gone to a different location within the storyline and focus on that until the end of the chapter and then repeat the method until the method/storylines are coinciding one another in the final section, I mean they should still use the chapter method from beginning to end; let's just say the final chapter would be a big final chapter.

Art and action; now we come to the strongest assets to this project by some distance actually a lot of distance like a trip around the world distance; the visual aspects of this project are everything that you have been preconditioned by the trailers to expect as they are of the most high qualities be it the detail on the Trojan horse and how they moved it in, to the Cyclops and its unique take on how they Cyclops should look like and its subsequent action sequence and/or the Laestrygonians [basically giant silver knights;] which there is a drop of comedy here as someone from Odysseus' army attacks one of the young to begin this conflict which really wasn't a smart move and we have this sequence in the underworld as well which is another sequence from an artistic perspective of a high the highest calibre and a little while later obviously the action sequence as well.

Character developments, performances and voice performances; on one hand because of everything I have already referenced as it relates to the exposition character developments, framework and pacing; I would say the character developments are at best functional[ I mean as best as it gets is where; without giving too much away is Odysseus is carrying something around with him]  and at worst what was the point, but on the other hand if you want me to be completely honest; I felt absolutely nothing for these characters, if you can work out starting line of this content; those are the positive performances at they really have to work hard to create any form chemistry/cohesiveness to navigate this framework and pacing, the rest are either solid or functional or yet again what was the point? And the voice performance is good.

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; yes this film may look nice, but it is hard work and becomes more and more like a chore to watch and not forgetting there are some in cast that what was the point of them being there other than virtual signalling garbage, quite frankly this film is very lucky to have the visual images it has at its disposal mixed with some performers that literally hold this film together and as the person that I watch some of this content said; I am paraphrasing that; they could easily make this into a two-hour film and the last half an hour or so is really good fun. This film also has some awards accredited to its name; like 2 Winners Heartland Film 2026 Truly Moving Picture Award Truly Moving Picture Award Christopher Nolan (director) and Astra Midseason Movie Awards 2026 Astra Midseason Award Most Anticipated Film
