This film really does need Crowe and Blanchett in close proximity to really work properly: briefly: Robin Longstride/other names [Younger Robin: Jack Downham/Older: Russell Crowe:] he has the unfortunate honour of going to a village to tell a family's soldier that he has died, then protect the House of Loxley and then fight French invaders to England, we also meet Marian of Loxley [Cate Blanchett:] she is a very strong willed woman that also wants to fight the French.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script and exposition character developments/character developments are designed to do the whole origin thing of Robin Hood; but the framework and pacing of this 140 minutes film is predominately really slow; this is not the only time I will make reference to this in this content; but this film really does need Crowe and Blanchett in close proximity to one another to really get a foothold and move with some gusto, unfortunately this doesn't happen until if I had to guess roughly around the middle section of the title or here or here about; this project does really, really, so badly need them together or in close proximity

Art and action; the set designs, location designs, the wardrobe and accessories have a real sense of authentic realism, with the standard kind of action sequences for this genre; I mean the only action sequence coinciding with the art; is when we have Longstride setting up to perform this long-range bow-and-arrow shot; most of the time I don't like slow motion effects this is true; but in this case they have used it as a very important shot, so take your time, make it count and don't miss; this is very much the only action sequence/artistic visions that for me only complement one another.

Character developments and performances; broadly speaking a character developments were and are an interesting take on what we already know about these characters and these performances reflect the vast majority of these performances to a good standard; but and this is a big but this film absolutely needs Crowe and Blanchett working off one another or/and in the same location, because between them; they really do galvanised this entire project, to the point where I would dread to think where this film would have ended up without them in this film to be brutally honest yet absolutely fair at the same time; so individually their performances are good; but when they are in the same place/location their chemistry is 100% naturally excellent, which elevates their performances to excellent as they really well and truly carry this project on their backs.

This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; don't get me wrong for a split second in the third section of this project; it was probably going to get something a little bit higher, but I have decided to go with a number that for more or less reflects this project, I can not say this enough this project really needs Crowe and Blanchett working off one another or at minimum I will take roughly in the same location to really move comfortably and fluently with enthusiasm and purpose, now and again we do have some comical moments as well; this film does also have a colourful and highly artistic closing credits backdrop and 1 Winner to its name;  ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards 2011 ASCAP Award Top Box Office Films Marc Streitenfeld and 14 Nominees which include but not limited to Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA 2011 Saturn Award Best Costume Janty Yates
