We hit the seas again: briefly; Captain Sinbad [Kerwin Mathews:] with his predominantly treacherous crew of criminals he set sail to save the woman he loves in; Princess Parisa [Kathryn Grant:] she currently has a major height deficiency and if Captain Sinbad can't fix the problem their two families will go back to fighting again, as their impending marriage was meant to stop the conflict.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script is good; the framework and pacing of 88 minutes long, by and large is good once it knows what it is doing; meaning there are times in the beginning section or somewhere around here; it doesn't feel so purposeful, as if it needs something to focus on to be motivated.

Art and action; let's be completely honest with one another here and let's just not go around the bush here; the biggest assets to this title by the distance between the Earth and the Moon and hell I will even say all round trip back to Earth again is the simultaneous art and action; to begin with just the art; we have set designs, locational images being on land or water or in other places such as for one example; a lamb, then we have wardrobe and accessories of a middle eastern flavour and texture's which are striking colourful, but not overpowering, but as you would expect highly detailed and of a high-quality presentation and if that isn't enough we come on to the art and action; it is of stop-motion; which for the younger generations if you don't know this style of animation; I'm not going to sound like a grumpy old man; but really you may want to broaden your horizons; simply put; it is where an artist painstakingly has this creature in this case Cyclops [with legs of a goat:] ever so slightly moves the creature including but not limited to facial expressions, takes a picture and then repeat the cycle and then repeats the cycle and so on and so forth [hence why I said painstaking me] and what we see on screen are the results of; pure mastery as you can put in these very tiny but also crucially details which in turn becomes personality and without a shadow of doubt; it has a timeless perfection quality to it; as everything has been done by hand you never lose the hand quality as Sinbad in this little sequence causes some hurt to the Cyclops and we can clearly see/feel the Cyclops is in some difficulty as he is struggling with his vision.

Character developments and performances; on both counts they are/were good versions of what they were going for and the cast performers are good reflection of this character types.

This film receives: 9/10, this film is excellent; as I have already shown it does have a lot to offer on one level or another including one or two moments of comedy but not enough for me to justify putting in this section, so I am just going to reference it here instead, but I digress; as I have also referenced it does have small moments of just losing itself and taking some moments to find itself again. This film also has some awards accredited to its name such as 1 Winner which is; National Film Preservation Board, USA 2008 National Film Registry and 2 Nominees which include but not limited to; Hugo Awards 1959 Hugo Best Dramatic Presentation Nathan Juran (director) Ken Kolb (screenplay) Ray Harryhausen (story)
