Average Extra of: Minions & Monsters | Official Trailer: My Reaction by AverageMansReviews
Warning:
there is going to be some censored adult language and references
My reaction: this
content is based on the 129 seconds trailer; this franchise is really beginning
to look old; the storyline/script is not the best as concepts go, so without
giving too much away; the Minions are working on a movie set, someone comes up
with the idea of making a monster movie, but they want to do it with real
monsters, so they find someone that points them in the right direction.
So
we couldn't have the Minions doing their interpretation of Around The World In
80 Days or some other well-known story, because this particular
storyline/script really doesn't do much for me.
The
really fudgin' sad thing about this franchise and this instalment in particular
is... you can see and yes this may be just a little bit of speculation on my
part, but you can see they are trying to just sell a new line of merchandise
with the characters.
Don't
get me wrong; the mummy skit scene is amusing as they have pasted around going
to the bathroom, so you have that kind of authentic comedy approach with your
audience identifying with this, but for the rest of it; it just feels like the
same old stuff just with a brand-new lick of paint [meaning up-to-date computer
animation.]
I
have tried to look up the budget for this instalment but as of now I can't find
it; so I will be guessing here; if the budget was around $150 million which on
a little bit of research is a fair conclusion based on the last instalment was
somewhere between $80-$100 million: Minions: The Rise of Gru 2022; at the box
office it made $940 million; but I should point out in this film you do have
Steve Corell reprising his role as Younger Gru; so as his iconic character I
can still see that being a financial draw, but I am not so sure without him. I
do fully expect this instalment to make it comfortable profit margin, I am just
trying to suggest that this one may end up the weakest out of the spin-off
Minions trilogy which this instalment will make it a trilogy of projects.
My prediction for this film: 5/10: obviously this will make money, I am more focused
on where do we go from here? I am just not feeling this instalment, I don't
like talking manure about a film, unless it is necessary; I just feel like they
are pushing their luck with this script a bit of what I can tell obviously.
