Malkovich vs. Eastwood: briefly; we have a threat to the President of the
United States of America in the form of Booth/other names [John Malkovich:] he
is a domestic terrorist that once you go head-to-head with a veteran in Secret
Service Agent Frank Horrigan [Clint Eastwood:] he is still an active agent, but
he is very much more heading towards retirement these days, he was on the
detail President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, but he won't be coming
alone Secret Service Agent Lilly Raines
[Rene Russo:] she wants to catch Booth and let's be honest if you will have to
put up with Secret Service Agent Horrigan's garbage as well.
Generally speaking: to be honest from the outset this movie would have been
broadly speaking something more entertaining if it wasn't so god dam slow, I
mean this film goes on for roughly 128 minutes and man you will feel every
second of it; where I was thinking it will get going in a minute, but for a
large amount of this project it doesn't, okay now and again we have fits and starts
as it relates to the action sequences, but for it to convincingly move with
gusto you have to wait until the final section of proceedings, which at one
point or another I think I fell asleep or/and struggled to keep awake; but
either way I was really just interested and just having to get through this
experience.
Character
developments, comedy and action; which on top of this; we have Secret Service
Agent Horrigan [Eastwood:] just bringing a much older interpretation of his
legendary character Dirty Harry/Harry Callahan to life with for one example of
the comedy of; something to the effect of if; if you are interested in me turn
around and at some point of what I can remember which I could be wrong I think
there is some form of sexism in this film at some point and for the action it
is what you expect it to be for this type of film; we have a tussle with a long
fall; which is worth mentioning.
Character
developments and performances; the safe and reliable versions that are best
associated with this style of action film title including an older version of
Dirty Harry, the trio of performers I have mentioned in the storyline
definitely try to keep this film going on every single level.
This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; straight off the bat if this
film was consistently more enthusiastic this marking would have been much
higher, but as it is; it finds itself here and don't get me wrong if you are a
fan of any of these performers I have mentioned, it is worthwhile watching this
film but on the other hand it is worthwhile keeping in mind my mark as well and
this film has an extra credit; meaning that ending credits start over the final
scene. This film also has some awards accredited to its name such as; 2 Winners
which include but not limited to Jupiter Award 1994 Jupiter Award Best
International Actor Clint Eastwood and 17 Nominees which also includes but not
limited to Academy Awards, USA 1994 Oscar Best Actor in a Supporting Role John
Malkovich [this film altogether 3 Oscar Nominees.]
